I used to own this game, its good but a pity it didn't have mine cart levels similar to that used in Donkey Kong Country. Also as the Yoshi family are supposed to be fairly young in this game, there should have been animals similar to Rambi or the Swordfish from DKC. If the levels had the similar design to DKC and were more challenging, it would make the game last longer. But still its a great classic game compared to the modern crap that is now in the charts!

this game really wasnt a masterpiece, and im a big fan of it. it was fun, but i just found a fruit hunt a little dull after a while. i know it had the whole score thing going for it, but it just wasnt as compelling as yoshi's island. im glad it exists, but i understand why nintendo didnt make another. still, fun game and brings back lots of memories.

They are not really 3D, rather 2D sprites of digitized high-res 3D models. Kinda like donkey kong country. New super mario brother's characters aren't sprites, they are fully 3D.

it was meant to be a direct sequel, but then they just slapped a new title on it. It's kind of fun, but it isn't as challenging if you don't do runs like this. Music is very different and gameplay is only slightly similar. If you want the REAL sequel to Yoshi's Island, get Yoshi's Island DS. That one plays like the snes one, but more characters (like instead of having just baby Mario, you can have Peach, DK and some others as well. Definitely give this game a try though.
