Fourth Generation iPod Battery Replacement Done Right

I just replaced my iPod's battery!!! It is put together (another struggle to keep inner peace) and now charging.

This is very exciting as my iPod is older than my five year old grandson!

CAn you please tell me what battery i need to order for a 20 GB 4th Generation with colour display please?

On milliamp it states the 4th Gen battery is for iPods that don't display colour photos.

You can get the 900 mAh or 1200 mAh battery for your 4th Generation IPOD. Sounds like you may actually have an IPOD PHOTO, which looks identical to the 4th Gen model but it has a color display.

Please dig around for the IPOD PHOTO battery kits and that will be all you need!

Thanks, ipodjuice. that's the probl;em ,sometime apples treats it as a 4th generation but at other times they differeniate abd refer to it as an ipod classic with colour display, so i don't know which battery pack to order and i can't seem to find battery replacement pack for the classic with colour display.

What is the blue tape on top for?

It secures the off/hold switch on top in place, something that we recommend you do during the battery replacement process.

Hey Master T. You must have purchased our 1200 mAh battery - its thick, but it fits - have you seen our other video that shows a simple trick to get the thicker 1200 mAh battery to fit? It is worth the extra effort - MORE playtime!!! If you want, we can send a thinner 900 mAh battery and a return label to send the 1200 mAh battery and we can credit your account the difference. The 1200 mAh battery you have from us will only work with the 4th Generation iPod and the iPod Photo. So if you have one of those, you are all set!!
