He may not be as genius as he once was (personally, I don't think any of the Beatles were even close to being as good on their own as they were together) but this song is beautiful. I truly love it ^_^
I am a huge Paul fan, but I am realistic about his later work; The genius is gone--this song is very pretty, but he no longer bends minds with the creative twists and turns he used to be capable of. Mind you I am not saying anything bad about the man, he has been an integral part of the best band ever, and written some of the best music of the 20th century. This song would not have made the White Album. It is NOT anywhere near Blackbird, MN son, etc. I love the man, but IMO his best writing past
@TheFDrScAnLoN mikkelberner--Hey, listen dude, I said IMO, you have balls to write that...You are the one that is afraid to make a sound judgement of his music, apparently so awed by the man that you can't take an objective listen. I live where I think the music is best. If u wanna convince yourself that there is ANYTHING decent out there right now, go right ahead. This is the darkest age for music and art since the fucking dark ages. You like rap too??
I LOVEEE the beatles, and paul is my favorite. im more of a younger beatles fan than an older beatles fan, and i dont usually listen to their solo songs because its sad that they only lasted 10 yrs. but my name is Jenni with an I but a few months ago i typed in jenny with a Y and Jenny Wren Paul McCartney so i clicked on it. Glad i did, i have NO regrets:) love u paul
this fingerpicking style paul is using reminds me of blackbird....this guy is unreal, i wish more people my age and younger realized his and the beatles talent and stopped listening to the shitty "music" of today.
@cometandcupids Funny you would say that.... Sir Paul said he wanted to write a another song on the guitar like Blackbird... Good ears my Friend.... Two thumbs waaaay up :-) LM
@pianissimo5 I was wondering this myself. Since you posted 9 months ago, you probably know by now, but in case you don't, it is an Armenian instrument called a duduk. According to wikipedia anyway.
This was the 2nd siingle from "Chaos and Creation in the backyard" the guitar is tuned down to key of "The solo is played on an Armenian woodwind instrument, called duduk--a first in pop music history. The guitar's tuning is set to "D", similar to "Blackbird" as well as in finger-picking style similar to Mother Nature's Son and Blackbird

Sounds like a song from The White Album. It would fit in nicely.
