Ive seen 04 cummins with over 1,000,000 Towing Miles on them and they still run fine. 200,000 miles is just breaking in a cummins, where as 200,000 miles is almost needing a rebuilt on a duramax or a powerstroke. Theyre all good trucks, dont get me wrong, but the cummins and the ford are both "industrial engines" and ford made the mistake of putting on a bunch of crap which made the PowerStroke unreliable. Dodge on the otherhand didnt need to touch the Cummins.

Powerstroke is a system that ford owns, but the Powerstroke motors (7.3, 6.0, 6.4) were all actually made by International Harvester. The only reason that the 6.0 and 6.4 were not reliable is because of the egr systems, without that, the motor would be somewhat reliable.
