Very powerful song both lyrically and musically. I'd say the back-up vocalists are an essential part of this song, as their haunting harmonies really set the dark, cruel mood of heartache. Truly an underrated gem from a very solid and complete comeback album (Steel Wheels).

there's supposed to be a bootleg recording out there of the demo of this song with Keith singing it. It was originally a Keith song, he came up with the basic tune around the time he did Talk is Cheap, and he and Jagger reworked the lyrics slightly when they "reconciled" at Montserrat.
