Thank you so very much for posting the show.I can't remember the last time I had tears rolling down my face from laughing so much. The way Danny interacted with both the audience and the orchestra was pure genious.
That's comedy and culture on a highest level! By the way, I am German, and even if the world means that we Germans have no sense of humor .- but we have: precisely this sense of humor! :-) I hope that Danny would be never forgotten! Thx so much for uploading @ obeca!
He said so much about the work of musicians. They are paid poorly and work and practise long hours all for the delight of an audience who seldom realise or appreciate how hard it is to become and remain an accomplished musician. i always feel grateful to the artists and often wonder at their devotion despite all.
A great soul like Danny k our modern troubled world.
Thank you so much Obeca for sharing this precious performance. I respect the true talent and professionalism from both Danny and the folks from NYP. I wish somebody will inherit this kind of program so the younger generation will continue to interact with music and of course the greatest orchestras in the planet. I saw this first when I was just a kid, got inspired, joined a school band with a trombone, and then joined an amateur orchestra. 25 years later I found this on YouTube and got really
I bow to the comic greatness that is and is was Danny Kaye and I give you Obeca a 21 oh hell, 22 gun salute for sharing such a wonderful gift as this with the rest of the youtube world.
Danny Kaye captured the essence of John Philips Sousa's intent in this composition... turn of the century optimism... an almost rowdy sense of confidence... and Danny Kaye brings all that out in this performance brilliantly! Thanks for posting this show...
the greatest thing I've ever seen ad Danny Kaye was probably one of the most multi-talented musicians ever and this proves it and its ashame he's not alive because if Dany Kaye was going to conduct any orchestra it wuld aways keep me intereted in music like this
I ageee and I must dd that Danny was not only a multi-talented musician but aritst as shuch. Just think of his comic talent, his sketches and his linguistic talents, which rather consist of imitating foreign language wihout actually speaking them. Really: The greates ttalent within the acting profession! I miss him!
Thankyou for posting! I feel truly inspired... Danny Kaye was a genius, and the man deserves to be remembered more often (too bad he died the same year as Fred Astaire).
OBEXA many many thanks for posting all the 17 segments of the Delicious Danny Kaye for all to see hear and thoroughly enjoy ... Great job and Danny what a man :)
This is gonna earn me a couple of thumbs down and I don't care... Danny Kaye, and NY, beat Boston. These people captured the exuberance that the Boston orchestra missed.
Thank you so much for this! I always loved Danny Kaye and now even more! I watched the whole concert in one breath. simply amazing!. It's true . There isn't anyone who can even be close to his genius nowdays.

Watching Danny I was often reminded of Harpo Marx. Both innocent clowns; both wise fools; and both great comic geniuses.
