Two things have totally ruined the sadness of this for me...
One: The Confidential. ("David Tennant's manly stubble in my eye!")
Two: An artwork on deviantART. Youtube is really annoying me by not letting me put the web link. Um...if you want to see it, you could try searching AqueousSerenade - DW: Heaven...?
@turnipz3 Contrary to belief,The DOCTOR IS NOT THE LAST TIMELORD-FOCUS ON The RANI ;)p...The BBC keeps leaving out The RANI,how hard can it be to keep the WOMAN TIMELORD CONTINUITY GOING with all these Feminsts around today?
@turnipz3 Yeah, I know about the bodies thing, but the point still stands that it is a bit Star Wars. Yeah, the Old Doctor would have been fine if the Doctor had not then become Dobby Doctor and then Jesus Doctor. And the whole world thinking his name? Might as well as been a "clap if you believe in TimeLords." That whole plot device ruined the script for me, as well as some dialouge moments. But the actors did what they could with the material. :) Like, I said, this scene is great.
@turnipz3 I also agree with this post of yours. To be honest, I'm upset that the Master didn't survive this one. It would have been great to see them travel together. Except then we wouldn't have had Donna, so in a way, I'm glad it didn't happen.
As sad as this scene was, this finale as a whole made no sense whatsoever, which is disappointing seeing that Utopia and the first 30 minutes of Sound of Drums were good. Continuity was a big issue, as well as the over the top scene of the Doctor as some sort of god. And the funeral pyre was a little too Star Wars. But this scene makes up for a lot of it.
@MEareCAT I love Lucy and all, but yes she is an idiot. Martha walked the Earth for a year so she could save everyone, including the Master, and then Lucy messed that all up in less than ten minutes.
@MEareCAT Yeah. She goes of with the master and sides with the person who break's the doctor's heart. Then she shoots the Master and truly breaks his heart by losing him the only person who he can truly relate too.
this fit sin really well with end of time. i was confused as to why the master refused to destroy earth cause he didn't want to die. then a few scenes later he is begging for someone to kill him, and when they do shoot him he refuses to regenerate. its cause if he got sucked into a blackhole he could never return, if he just died to something shit like a bullet then he will get resurrected through his ring. good continuity.
@philyburkhill1 How would the Master get ReSurrected through his ring? The Oringinal best actor to play the MASTER was Rodger, and he died in an film set accident back in the 1970's in India
@pharos5000 He's saying I won because he made the Doctor care about him which was what the master wanted to begin with and I'm referring to the classic series more than the new series...
Heres what thows me off as confuseing-ALL TIMELORDS have 2 hearts-The MASTER only got shot in 1 of the hearts,That 1 shot would NOT be enough to kill him !, Not like the fatal body injury to both hearts AT SAME TIME suffered from a bad fall like TOM BAKER did from a huge tower and re-Generating to PETER DAVIDSON
Well, okay. I thought of this too, and here's what I came up with... If one heart is fatally disabled, they can't live. Either you get the heart working, regenerate, or die. The Master chose to die rather than regenerate.
And in response to your other comment, let's not get technical. :P It would, either way, be very, very painful.
Whats so technical about it?-How can a Timelord NOT live if 1 heart is STILL FUNCTIONAL,Where-as I plainly pointed out as an example, of how BOTH hearts would take Fatal damage at same time like as in that fall from a high place-Or worse, the DOCTOR could encounter a Pissed off Redneck using thier TRUSTY DOUBLE BARRLED SHOT GUN(both barrels ready to fire same time-WHOOAA!)LoooooooL!!
@OLDSCHOOLHHSEX Maybe the reason that he died was not so much that one of his hearts was damaged, because the Doctor had only one heart working several times, but I think it was blood loss and other injuries coupled with it. When the Doctor was alive with one heart, there was no visible blow, no bleeding. So, I think only one of his vascular systems working, along with other possible damage to vital organs, it could have been hard to keep his blood flowing under those circumstances.
@OLDSCHOOLHHSEX [ ...continued] I could be very much wrong, I'm not a doctor, but it would seen possible. I mean, just because there is no blood on screen doesn't mean it's implied; we all know DW is big on very little blood. Just trying to help, mate. :)
@gladnxofxgallifrey At first I thought this topic had something to do with when The DOCTOR WHO was played by McCoy changeing into The 8Th Doctor on that Hospital gurrney in operations room when That Doctor woke up and realized he had surgical strings in his chest-For that 1 role only of that FOX made for TV movie,That was 1 of the very few Doctor Who films that I and many fans really HATED-The FOX TV NETWORK really bombed trying to Restart the DOCTOR WHO series after McCoy >;-3(p Tennant's GREAT
@OLDSCHOOLHHSEX Well, in the movie it seemed she never hit his hearts at all... Really? I liked the Eighth Doctor. No offense, but I've seen worse, much worse movies like that, ie the Eragon movie. For an American network to hit at least close to the mark on something like DW is fairly good, I mean, there are alot of information that could have been messed up, i.e. the thirteen lives and the two hearts. But, that doesn't matter, I was just trying to say there probably enough damage to him to
@OLDSCHOOLHHSEX [Continued....] to kill him. We're not completely sure about a Timelord's biology, right? And I think if you look close, there is a small ring of blood in his mid torso, there I think the bullet might have hit. So, though I might be wrong, that could have hit something major, like a liver or kidney, causing internal bleeding and everything else.
Acually the master is not really bad at all. Because the reason why he was so evil was because he had heard all his life from 8 years old drumming in his head. Who would not became insane ?? So that is why i think it's sad that he died. I mean he even asked when he died if the drumming finally would end!!!
Well, the humans don't have to worry about the Master anymore. The Doctor is going to need mental Therapy for losing a fellow Time Lord. We human beings take each other for granted everyday. But, what if we were the only species that can travel into space, and there's no one else across the stars.
I'm going to order some Chinese food now. I'll have some beef with broccoli.
....and that reporter women in the last episode remarking on how simple Lucy is- watching this episode over again has made me consider that its all fairly plausible.
Some people speculate that Lucy was hypnotized or something because the Master would do anything not to be in the power of the Doctor. The theory has lots of gaping holes in it still, but look how deadpan she is after she shoots him...and then when you consider the Master was using the Archangel network all this time to get inside of people's thoughts...(cont.)
Works on the EXACT same mechanics as*U can drag a Horse over to water-ing hole,BUT U CANT FORCE HIM or HER TO DRINK IT*(There is 1 way,But there is people who would abuse that education!)
the reason the doctor was so upset was because the master was the only timelord left , its like you and someone else being the last human , and then they die , the doctor was upset because he did'nt want to be alone
This is proof that doctor who is one of the best shows created not a single dislike for such an amazing scene.

I felt as though this scene was a little too...over the top
I mean...they weren't lovers
bairly even friends
and sure...for a time, The Doctor wasn't the Last Time Lord
but the Master killed people
tourtered people
he watched the world burn while he danced with his "wife"
you have to admit, on some levels...The master deserved death
Also, I think deep down, the Master wanted death
The drumming will never stop
