  • I'm with agwhitaker on the comment; ".. 'crash' and 'milling machine' should not be used in the same sentence" yep, makes eyebrows and hair stand up.

  • Sweet I want one!

  • They even use gloves!

  • WOW EVERYTHING IS SO SHINY!

  • worth pointing out that on some milling machines, the z axis actually moves the table up rather than the head.

  • It would be better if you avoided using the term "crash" and "milling machine" in the same sentence.

  • what kind is the manual mill???

  • I'll take three!

  • beautiful...plz see if you can eliminate or reduce the background music as it's distracting....and makes it harder to pay attention to the words

  • you guys obviously don't cut much there... those things are way too clean.

  • Something tells me that shop has A/C

    lucky...

  • How does the quill turn while being lowered? Is it a ballscrew or leadscrew?

  • @DeusMalleus the quill is doesn't rotate, it houses the spindle which is driven by a spline shaft which allows the vertical motion.

  • I want one to make a guitar. I hear old ones are cheap to pick up for a couple hundred.

  • I want one. :(

  • What about backlash elimination on the leadscrew?

  • technology -------- superbz

  • Rubber gloves? Damn. This is even cleaner than my local Green Leaf shop/plant.

  • Nice Work

  • How the hell did they make the first one?

  • @GnosticFryingpan read about how were the first flat surfaces made... they referenced every cutting tool to them, and from there onward it was just a matter of cutting the right parts to build a milling machine ;)

  • Dude.....I love the background music in this video......I feel like I'm traveling through time....

  • Very informative, but kinda clean. No chips sticking to things there, no crud or dirt anyplace.. Oh, I know what is different.. There is LIGHTING there Going to watch the whole series later on this evening.

  • everything is so cleeaaaaan there

  • @VirtRampage my guess is it's not a 'shop' it's a demo. those are brand new machines i'm guessing.

  • @VirtRampage just the dirt is clean!

  • What training do you need to start working in this field?

  • @delacerdaa An education in CNC-technic. It's very fun. I wish i got this machine in my work. Have a old Matsuura 510V and makes EDM electrodes in graphite.

  • @delacerdaa

go to a tech school and get a tool & die or mold maker degree.

Some places will train you but it really gets your foot in the door if you went to school for it.

  • sweeeeeeet

  • For those that dont know what kind of machine that is... Its the infamous, Mori Seiki MV 653

  • Damn that is the cleanest mill I have ever seen

  • there are machine shops that are clean and organized and they dont use there people like slaves.

  • Yeah and what machine shop do you work at where its all clean and organized like that? lol

  • What kind of Vertical Mill is that? It looks brand new!

  • Now thats a huge pice of machine.

    Just amazing

  • Nice series!!! Thanks for sharing it.

Several years ago I wrote a booklet with the title "Uncrash Course in CNC." (No one wants a machine to crash.) ;-)
