The cone had nothing to do with it.. it seems when the tire blew the clip came out the cars r made to split apart on hard impact when them tires blow thats hard impact so the body split.. if the body wouldnt have split john would be died.. no daught.. thank god for it splitting.. ii bet john dont race i bet he retires..

GOD BLESS JOHN FORCE!!!He is a true NHRA hero! My heart goes out to him and his family!! I had the opurtuninty to meet him @ that very track once.He stoped what he was doing to sign autographs for fans! If you follow racing you know they dont do that very much.He has always been commited to his family and fans.I wish J.F. a speedy recovery and will be anxious to see if he will race again! I also hope that Kenny Bernstein can get past what has happened, he is a true NHRA hero as well!

I was at the track and everyone can see something diffrent, but two of the best drag racers in history almost lost there life. It made me so sick that i had to go home and pray that john would be ok and i think he will but this was big. It would have changed a lot of peoples lifes it they where both killed and i thank god there ok.

At the track they played (1) video about 3 hours after the accident and did not replay it again. Texas Motorplex should be ashamed by not running the replay sooner and often at the track. EVERYONE at the track was upset by the lack of information provided by the Texas Motorplex after the incident. They lost alot of future ticket sales including mine by censoring this mishap to paying customers at the track. Dont buy a ticket stay home you are better off.

cherylsteve, If you had been paying attention you would have heard the same updates as I did. They made several announcements throughout the afternoon updating everyone on Johns condition. I respect the fact that they didn't make a "side show" out of his crash.

It almost looks to me like a body support got into the left rear tire. I was at Ennis and recorded the race from behind, and the timing blocks clearly both missed him from my rear view. If you look close you can see the left rear body above the tire start coming lose first. It almost looks like the chute could have caught on part of the spoiler. Dunno, I'm just glad he's okay ;)

At the 4:00 mark, you see first one cone KB hit, it bounces out of the way, then the second timing cone shoots hard across track behind John's car as debris flies up high from KB's car out of the picture hight left. John's right rear did blow, same tire that blew out on Eric. I still say this was chassis failure.

The timing cone KB hit at the finish didn't impact John's car, it went just behind it.  This is more of a chassis failure, like Larry Dixon and Tony Schum. have had in top fuel. John was on his feet Monday after surgery asking if he could race in two weeks! God Bless JFR & KB!
