im so sick of ppl talkin down abt the spurs. they deserve just as much respect as the lakers maybe more. they've been consistently good, never had off court on court drama, timmy d is an unselfish leader, they've won 4 titles, and play great team ball. everyone who is talkin down abt them need to shut up. every team isnt flashy and loud.
What I love about the Spurs is not only do they always make the playoffs and contend for a title year in year out,but they do it in a humble, selfless, classy way, so much so that most NBA fans and pundits have written them off to the lottery since 2006 LOL!!!
@gfscarface13 Suck ass bitch! never say never dumbass,
Next time you open your filthy ass mouth bow to the Spurs bitach!
They have won fair and square every single championsip unlike your sorry ass overrated team, who every cahmpionship they have won has been gifted by the league, helping them every single year to get to the finals, undeserving mofos!
@gfscarface13 learn to talk shit when your lakers team got their asses handed to them badly beat and sweep by the mavs thats fucking embrassing kobe down 0-3 talking his trash saying they were gonna win and got slaughter by jason terry rain of 3's in game 4 you bitch losing to a 8th seed that playing like their a higher seed us spurs fan can live with
Lakers are a great franchise as well but your insecurities are very obvious as the Lakers got swept by the Mavs just 8 months ago with a healthy roster...you are in no position to talk currently.
spurs are Not an NBA Dynasty. Doesn't help that they could Not repeat as Champions and won the 99 short lockout season. Shorther than this lockout season coming up.
Lakers are the Dynasty & Team of the 2000's with a Three-Peat & Back to Back in 2010.
After winning back to back Championships the Lakers' era is finally over, they go out as sore losers after getting swept out of the playoffs by the Dallas Mavericks (of all teams)...Andrew Bynum and Lamar Kardashian Odom delivered cheapshots on JJ Barea and Dirk Nowitzki when they couldn't handle the frustration of getting blown out in the Game 4 clincher
@gfscarface13 they won 4 titles the spurs are a dynasty you faggot reject and lakers only win in 2000 when teams starters was injured look it up moron and four there other two tittles the kings and t-wolves got rippid off by refs favoring that faggot lakers team you bitch
@gfscarface13 legends of what game moron? back then there was no one as tall as george mikan easy titles and another thing you was not born back then idiot to make any claims to the lakers titles and you morons keep bringing up 16 titles when all of them was not won in la and another thing 4 titles is consider a dynasty your the dumb one to say a team that was injured didnt repeat and shaq lakers tittles was handed to them by the refs so come back to me and talk when you grow up idiot
Short season huh? Have you ever thought that a short season is worse on the players. Just like this years with the back to back games. Everyone is not as tired as they would be with a longer season. So to say because of a short season is why they won is stupid. Oh and if the Lakers would have won it be a different story, right? And dont forget the Spurs have gone through the Lakers and have also ended the Lakers run and made some of the Lakers cry .... lol
@Trax07 You're right, had the Lakers won the Short non all star game 1999 title it would be a "different story" but im glad the Lakers didn't win that asterik short season.
Had the lakers won it in 99, Kurt Rambis would have stayed as Head Coach and Phil Jackson would have not come to LA.
Shaq was out of shape prio to the 2000 season, Phil Jackson made him get in shape and made Shaq & Kobe get along and brought the triangle offense and great defense and helped the lakers win Titles.
"You better give a shit if the Lakers Three-peated because when the time ever comes for the Spurs to ever repeat as World Champions, you can't say that they are better than the Lakers ."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. What happened fuckstick? ure cocksucking FAKERS got completely exposed. this year the third team from texas will win the championship, not ure OLD, OVERRATED CLASSLESS CHUMPS! U WENT OUT LIKE BITCHES, NOW SUCK MY BLACK MAMBA WHILE I SPLOOGE ON STAPLES CLOWN!!! HAHAHAHAHA
@Jiltedin2007 i believe getting swept and completely overwhelmed is worse. what happened to bynum and odom? they showed the true colors of the classless fakers
@bmtkid00 Odom and Bynum already apologized for their actions to Nowitzki and Berea. NOW GET OFF THIER DICKS! At least the Lakers will never lose to a #8 Seeded Team. And you want to talk about getting swept? How many times have we swept your Asses?! More times than you've beaten us.
And where were you while we were getting swept? Oh yeah, probably getting tips from Johnny Miller or Tom Weiskopf on how to improve your Golf Game. Did you get an early enough Tee Time?
To the laker fans: stfu u kobe dickriders. HOW YAL GON SAY THE LAKERS ARE BETTER.. AND THEY SORRY ASSES LOST TO CLEVELAND. that jus shows yal are weak as fuk. STEP OFF FAKERS GO SPURS GO!!!
While the Spurs are riding a 6 game losing streak, the Lakers STILL remain the hottest team in the NBA now going 16-1 since the All-Star Break and now climbed to 1 1/2 games behind the Spurs for the Top Seed in the West.
We really don't give a shit if we don't have the Top Seed. The Lakers will still kick ass over the Lame-Ass Spurs whether or not we get the Home Court Advantage!
@fotowngoonz Well lookie here, we got Miami in the house. You know what dumb shit, I really don't give a fuck whether or not you win(Outside of the fact that I hate LeBron). And to be honest with you I don't give a shit who wins the Championship in 2011, so as long it is not San Antonio or Boston!
@madhazzer Looks like the "Choke" is on the Spurs. AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH, COUGH, COUGH, COUGH, COUGH. Down 3-1 to Memphis in the First Round? I'm loving it! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. This is too funny.
Why do spurs haters hide the fact that they have won 3 championships in just one decade, and that they have the best record in the league, and say that they are getting old? who gives a shit if they are old, they are the best!
@07thematrix Its because they won in Cleveland. Normally it would be in the locker room but cleveland fans are classy. I couldn't even imagine what would have happened if they celebrated on an opponent's court in detroit, ny or nj
Those places might as well have fences to keep out the savages.
@AlucardHiryu16 No, but the Lakers own the Spurs lifetime in Playoff Competition. The Lakers have taken 8 of the 11 Playoff Series they have had with the Spurs.
The only 3 times the Spurs have defeated the Lakers in Playoff Competition was in 1995, 1999 and in 2003.
@AlucardHiryu16 True, the Lakers have been around a lot longer in the NBA than the San Antonio Spurs. Being the case, let's just go back to 1977 which happens to be San Antonio's First Season in the NBA. As we all know that the Spurs won a total of 4 World Championships from 1977 to the present. Well in that same time frame, the Lakers have won a Grand Total of 10 World Championships! There is no hiding the fact that the Lakers are superior.
theres no doubt the Lakers will always be better than the Spurs, but ESPN ranks the Spurs as the number 3 best NBA franchise of all-time, first obviously being the Lakers, second being the Celtics
@nobodysperfect06 Tha's cool. But the Aging Spurs can not reload like we have done so time and time again since Dr. Jerry Buss was Our Owner with Jerry West as the General Manager. After the 80's Showtime Lakers team was dismantled, in came Shaq and Kobe and a Lakers Three-peat followed in 2000-2002. Then in 2004 after Shaq got traded, the Lakers took another fall, look where they are now. BACK-TO-BACK WORLD CHAMPIONS. Could you ever see the Spurs ever reloading like the Lakers have?
What is it that determines that success of the Lakers all the time, and with Professional Sports teams as well? Is it the Owner, General Manager, or just luck? how do the Lakers always stumble onto Superstar talent and great Coaches all the time?
don't get me wrong, I love the Lakers since I live in Southern California, I just wish other Southern California Sports teams were consistently as great year in and year out like the Lakers are, the Lakers pretty much never rebuild, they just reload all the time, and no, I can never see the Spurs reloading like the Lakers have.
@nobodysperfect06 I hear you. I have been living in Los Angeles since 1967 and I have always loved the Lakers. Probably the reason why the Lakers have always been successful in their storied past is their mystique. And even back in 1972 when the Lakers won their 1st Championship in Los Angeles, everyone wants bring their "A Game" when playing the Lakers. Basically, it is their reputation that becomes their "Law of Attraction" to get some of the NBA's Best Players.
@nobodysperfect06 And besides having that "Law of Attraction", they also have an Owner in Dr. Jerry Buss, who besides being a Professional Poker Player, also is never afraid to "Ante up" when it is necessary for another Championship Drive. But the main reason why the Lakers have been successful during Dr. Buss' reign has been Jerry West, the man who have kept the Lakers "The Cream of the Crop" in the NBA. After building the 1980's Dynasty of the Showtime Lakers, then the Dynasty of 2000-02.
and do you credit Mitch Kupchak for building the current Lakers dynasty? so the success of the Lakers, or any other Professional Sports team in general always or usually comes down to the owner and general manager? the moves they make in the off-season? I wish the Dodgers had ownership and management like that, it sucks that the Dodgers have not won and nor have they been to the World Series since 1988, pretty much the Lakers are here to compete every year
meanwhile the other Southern California Sports teams are not as committed, or just not as smart as knowing how to win like the Lakers are, also, I wish Los Angeles had an NFL team, your probably old enough to remember back when L.A. had an NFL, or 2 NFL teams with the Raiders and the Rams, when they left L.A. in 1994, I was only 6 years old and I did not follow Sports yet.
@nobodysperfect06 Yes, I do credit Mitch Kupchak for building the current Back-to-Back World Champions. I would not want to call this version of the Lakers "A Dynasty", not yet. The same Mitch Kupchak that Lakers fans everywhere(Including myself) wanted to be exiled back in 2005. The Lakers have that something special that no other NBA Team, not even the Celtics, have.
agreed, but don't you wish there was an NFL team in Los Angeles? I seriously wish there was, I'm not really into College Football, so I kinda get bored with UCLA and USC
@nobodysperfect06 In 2013, there will be NFL Football in Los Angeles after a new stadium will be built in the City of Industry off of Grand Avenue not too far off Diamond Bar. About 25 miles east of Los Angeles. And after it has been built, there will be 7 NFL Teams interested in coming to Los Angeles to play Football.
it's just very dissapointing, very unfair on how the second largest city in America does not have an NFL team, out of all the Major Professional Sports Leagues in North America, the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL, the NFL is without a doubt the most popular and most known, it has the highest ratings, the Super Bowl is the biggest media sporting event, it owns the NBA Finals, World Series, and Stanley Cup Finals, and it's just not right how there is no NFL team in L.A.
this year, this season is the 16th season without an NFL team in Los Angeles, and the NFL and L.A. have been going in circles ever since, they have been saying that for years that the NFL will return to Los Angeles, I remembered Roger Goodell saying that L.A. will be an NFL city again before the end of the Decade, well, look at L.A. now? L.A. was supposed to get the expansion team in 2002, but lost to Houston, the year Houston got the Texans.
@nobodysperfect06 I hear what you're saying, but like I told you, The City of Los Angeles will have an NFL Team by 2013. So please be patient and wait just 3 more years after the new stadium will be built, and a Football Team will be playing here in Los Angeles. And if I had my way, I would bring the Vikings to Los Angeles. But I do not believe that The State of Minnesota would be happy with my decision. But I'll take anyone but the Rams or Raiders!
what I find very stupid is that, since everyone claims that L.A. will not support an NFL team, then yet why to the Clippers still exist? the Clippers have been pathetic throughout their entire history, so it's like, how come Los Angeles will tolerate a losing franchise like the Clippers, but not an NFL team? In my opinion the Clippers should not be an NBA team anymore, they should be an NBA-Development league team or something
@nobodysperfect06 Because the Clippers are not a Los Angeles Team! They are Houseguests on a very extended stay here in Los Angeles. If I had my way, I would sent the Clippers back to San Diego. In fact, at a Clippers game(I kid you not!), someone was outside the Staples Center with a Petition to send the Clippers back to San Diego, and people were signing that petition. But when the Clippers Brass got wind of it, they immediately confiscated it.
I hate Donald Sterling with a huge passion, I can't wait until he croaks, he was born 1933 so he doesn't have that much longer to live, eventhough I have never been a Clippers fan, I just hate how he uses the Clippers as a way to make profit, he uses them as a Business instead of a Sports team, I plan to sign that petition to send them back to San Diego, or anywhere as long as they are not in L.A.
@nobodysperfect06 I highly think that everyone here in Los Angeles is starting to feel the same way you do(Including myself) about the Clippers. The Clippers should have never left San Diego!
@Jiltedin2007 Perhaps the Spurs could reload. They have before. After David Robinson left, the Spurs had a bit of reloading to do, and they did it, and 2 seasons later, the Spurs won their 3rd NBA championship.
@EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 We'll see what happens. It's really all about the Playoffs that makes Players(like Kobe) into Legends. Sure, the Spurs have the NBA's Best Record, but that dosen't mean jack until you go very far into the Playoffs. Look back to your last Championship Year, #1 Dallas got themselves embarrassed by Golden State in the First Round. It marked the only time the MVP Award(To Dirk Nowitzki) was not presented before a Playoff Game. So basically, anything can happen.
@EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 It's very possible that the Spurs can reload, but they do not come close to having the money the Lakers spend on Free Agents. The only way the Spurs could reload and surpass the Lakers is through the NBA Draft a la David Robinson and Tim Duncan, and only hope for greatness from their Draft Picks. Players like those I have mentioned do not come "A Dime A Dozen".
@nobodysperfect06 Ok, really? The Lakers won't ALWAYS be better than the Spurs, in fact, right now, the Spurs are doing much better than the Lakers. No disrespect intended.
it's not so much the regular-season that counts, it's the post-season, the NBA's best team is always determined in the post-season, and plus, the Lakers really never rebuild, they just reload, they have never gone through a stretch without a Superstar player in their entire history, they just stumble onto them, and amazingly, the Lakers have missed the playoffs only 5 times in their 62 to 63 year history, and have been in the NBA Finals amazingly 31 times, for like half their existence.
I loved how I have personally started redecorating this San Antonio Spurs Video about "A Dynasty is Born" with all of my Lakers talk. But you know what? Who gives a shit. You guys want to talk about a dynasty? Talk about the Los Angeles Lakers, THE REAL DYNASTY! The team that just went Back-to-Back.
Hey Spurs Fans, do you still call your team "A Dynasty"? Learn a lesson from the Lakers before you open your mouths! We have now just repeated, which is something a team is supposed to do when they want to call themselves "A Dynasty". And guess what, we may want to Three-Peat next year!
Los Angeles Lakers - 2010 World Champions. Back-to-Back!
@nobodysperfect06 Yes, you can't take that away those 4 Championship Rings from San Antonio. I want to say something derogatory about the Suns, but I just can't. Let us not forget who swept out these pathetic Spurs in the Playoffs. But the Suns can't win the big ones, and with Amare Stoudamire now in New York, God help Steve Nash!
But the 4 the Spurs have won will never compare to the Lakers 16 World Championships!
@nobodysperfect06 And always will. Unlike the Spurs, the Lakers have already repeated, and Three-peated. When will the Spurs win "Number 5"? NEVER! The Lakers will win 5 more Championships before the Spurs ever contend for another.
I want to spit on this video about the Spurs being "A Dynasty"!
@nobodysperfect06 That is a given! And did you know? Since 1986(When the Celtics won "Number 16") The Lakers have won 7 Championships to the Celtics 1.
the Lakers are the greatest, best team in NBA history, even ESPN ranks them number 1, eventhough they trail the Celtics by only 1 ring, the Lakers have been a lot more consistent throughout their entire history, they have only missed the playoffs only 5 times in their entire history, have the highest winning percentage, have more regular season wins, playoff wins, playoff series wins than any other NBA team, the Lakers have never gone through a stretch without a Superstar player
@nobodysperfect06 It's just too bad for the Celtics that Bill Russell isn't playing anymore. Maybe the Celtics need to win another 11 World Championships in a 13 year period. BUT IT'S NEVER HAPPENING AGAIN!
Obviously the Lakers are The Greatest Team in the NBA! who's been to the Finals the most? I have been a Lakers Fan since I was a Little Boy, and I only remember 4 years that the Lakers did not make the Playoffs(1975, 1976, 1994 and 2005). The strength of the Lakers, was a Big Man.
ESPN ranks the Lakers number 1, the Celtics number 2, the Spurs number 3, and the Bulls number 4. Also most of the Celtics championships came during the late 50's throughout most of the 60's, when there was less competition, only 8 NBA teams back then, the Modern NBA which began in the 1970's, since then, the Celtics have won only 6 Championships(1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986, 2008) the Lakers have won 11(1972, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010)
@nobodysperfect06 Yes, back in a time when the Celtics had The Greatest Player in the NBA in Bill Russell, and when the Celtics did win their 11 World Championships from 1957 to 1969, and 8 in a row from 1959 to 1966. And since then, yes, the Celtics have won 6 Championships to our 11. And also now that we have won "Number 16", I have to say that since 1986(When the Celtics won "Number 16"), the Lakers have won 7 World Championships to the Celtics 1.
@nobodysperfect06 Exactly, and Dr. Jerry Buss was it! The Man who got Magic Johnson, and once Magic became a Part Owner of the Lakers, you knew that great players were going to come. But let us also not the General Manager who was even more responsible for the building of a Dynasty. That Man happens to be Jerry West, who worked his Butt off in making the Los Angeles Lakers "The Cream of the Crop" in the NBA. I bet you even today after retirement, Jerry West still has a hand in the Lakers.
agreed, the Lakers have been in the NBA Finals 31 times in their entire existence, thats half their existence, not even the Yankees have been in the World Series that many times, the Lakers are the greatest professional sports team of all-time!!!!
@nobodysperfect06 I hear you! But I have to disagree with you about something. The Yankees have a Grand Total of 40 Pennants. But you know what? When the NBA was born, Baseball was already 80 years old. I'll bet you anything that in 80 years from now, the Lakers will have gone to the NBA Finals plenty more than 40 times, and absolutely have at least 30 World Championships!
That's the reason why I call the Lakers "The New York Yankees of Basketball"!
All these Spurs haters are pathetic, your commenting on a Spurs tribute and your obviously not Spurs fans, if you think the Spurs are'nt a dynasty then thats your opinion, but the fact is they are, they were always in contention to win and if it was your team you would be happy for that success, dont hate on the Spurs, 4 world titles says there a dynasty, repeat or not.
15 World Championships, the greatest team in the NBA! We are so good that everyone wants a piece of us wherever we go whether or not we are the World Champions. And that tells you something about us.
We are sooooo hated everywhere we go, we are like the New York Yankees. But you know what? Who gives a shit! We don't fuck around! The Banners you see hanging inside the Staples Center are not there for show, it's for hard work!
First of all, I don't brag Mother Fucker, I am solely speaking the truth. And I'm sorry if the truth hurts you too much. And the only reason why the Celtics were so good in winning the 11 World Championships from 1957 to 1969 was because of One Man: Bill Russell.
Since 1986, how many Championships have the Celtics won? ONE And how many have the Lakers won since then? SIX!
And tell me how many times have the Lakers kicked the Spurs' Asses in the Playoffs?
@myfancypantz2010 Go ahead and hate the Lakers, I don't give a shit anyway!
Another reason why I always call the Lakers, THE NEW YORK YANKEES OF BASKETBALL!
Who do you like anyway? These Pathetic Spurs? Who got their Asses kicked by us back in 2008, and also let's not forget Derek Fisher with .4 seconds left.
@Jiltedin2007 Fisher's .4 was... amazing.. that only led the lakers to total humiliation by the pistons.. im not hating the lakers, but i do think that the way the spurs play will probably stand a higher chance against the pistons
@DDavidDVD No, I have to disagree with you. What led to the Lakers embarassment at the Hands of the Piston in the 2004 NBA Finals was the Lack of Continuity the Lakers had as a whole. Shaq demanded to be traded after the season, and he went to Miami. Phil Jackson stepped down as Head Coach, and Kobe was deciding whether to play for the Lakers or the Cippers. And when the day came for Kobe to decide to play for ther Lakers, Derek Fisher signed with Golden State.
@Jiltedin2007 Dude stop comparing the Lakers to the New York Yankees, the Yankees have 27 world titles and the Lakers only have 15 and 5 were won in Minneapolis, besides the Celtics have more 17 and dont say cuz they won 11 in the Bill Russell years, its what is accomplished through out the franchise's exsistence, esspecially in the city they have won in through out the championships.
@jriv27 And how many of those Championships did those Celtics win since 1986? ONE! Wheras the Lakers won 6 of them, and they're going to win number 7 next month!
And besides, like the Yankees, the Lakers have been consistent in winning Championships. I only wonder how many of those 11 Championships the Celtics would have won without Bill Russell, who was owning Big Wilt annually in the Eastern Conference.
@jriv27 And if only Basketball would have been around as long as Baseball has, yes the Lakers would definately have 27 World Championships by now! After all, Baseball was already 80 years old when the NBA was born.
Another example, your Pathetic Spurs came into the NBA in the 1976-77 Season, and has won 4 World Championships since then. Well San Antonio, in that period of time, the Lakers have won a total of 9 World Championships. Case and Point!
@ITSME1267 For what? Cheating? If it was not for Red Auerbach getting Bill Russell in the 1956 NBA Draft, the Celtics would not have won those 11 Titles in a 13 year time period. And in the 80's, they had to cheat to beat the Lakers in 1984.
Lakers are going to repeat in 2010! To show all of you San Antonio Bitches what a Dynasty is really all about! It's going to be a long time coming until you will see a 5th World Championship in San Antonio, and especially with an aging Duncan.
Give it up Spurs Fans, I'll see the Bulls win a 7th World Championship before I see Your Beloved Spurs win another World Championship which is NEVER!
A dynasty that cant even repeat as champions? Give me a break don't insult teams like the Rockets, Bulls, Lakers and all the teams that can at least win back to back titles.
And what's this about 2009-10 champions? Im guessing you don't know what an odd number is. So maybe in 2011 or 2013 or 2015 the Spurs will win but not this year.
@ITSME1267 Anyoen who proclaims a championship when the season is only a third done is a loser. The spurs are in no position to make any run at the championship this year. That's not to say it can't happen, but are you really going to say that the Spurs can match up against Denver, Dallas, and LA in the playoffs. And can they match up against the Boston Celtics?
From the #7 spot of the Western Conference? Yeah right, like in your dreams buddy! Try to get past Nowitzki, and then Chauncey Billups and Carmelo first. And then when we cross paths in the Western Conference Finals, I guarantee you that my Lakers are going to put the Karbash on your Spurs!
Good luck trying to get out of the West. You won't even get past Dallas in the First Round. Or whoever may be the #2 Seed in the Western Conference.
You cant call dinasty to the 3peat of the lakers ...
They lost finals, and have a process of reconstruction, thats not domination of the decade
Spurs Have been dominate since tim duncan arrive, and they have been in the playoffs and they don lose finals and its not over ... the spurs go for more
Many people hate the spurs for been the rivals of lakers, mavs and suns, etc
If you're going to make a point about how the Spurs were a "dinasty", please make sure to spell it right. The SPurs were a a very good, solid team, but let us not lower the bar for what makes a Dynasty. This isn't the NFL, where any repeat is difficult, it's the NBA where repeats have happened often in the last 21 years. It has happened 6 times since then with the only non dynasties being Houston and Detroit. Both of those runs occurred during or in between Dynasties already in progress.
BTW, The Lakers of the early part of the Decade won trips to the Finals out of 5 possible trips. That's domination. Not winning every other year after having another team 3peat during your supposed reign. Dynasties don't typically do that, unless the Bulls, who were Jordan-less for practically the entire 2 years of the Houston Rockets back to back run. You also can't claim dynasty status when you allow the Lakers to make to more repeat trips and watch them get their 4th ring of the decade.
Fact: every single dynasty that has ever existed in the NBA has at least repeated once during their championship runs. Fact: The Spurs have never run back to back during their championship stretches. FAct: The LAkers had a 3 peat Dynasty during in between the '99 ( strike shortened) and '03 seasons. I haver never denied that they were consistent. Don't mistake consistency with dynasty. Being a dynasty is a kin to being in the hall of fame of champions. It's the HOF( ame) not the really good.
Spurs are definately a Dynasty. No where does it say you have to win back to back. It says you have to be consistent on winning championships. They were definately consistent. Winning 4 titles over a 9 year period easily makes them a Dynasty.
Theres also a good chance they can win their 5th next season.
It depends on which sport we're talkign about. If this were the NFL you woudl have a point. But this is basketball and every single dynasty that has come before in the NBA has accomplished this feat. To be a dynasty you have to be better than being good enough to just win a few championships. And going back to back doesn't do it alone either. All the great Dynasties had both of these things and that's what the SPurs don't. It sets the bar to low and takes away from true dynasties.
Dynasty, Yeah right! Learn to repeat before you can call yourselves "A Dynasty". Let's see, shall we? San Antonio's Championship Years: 1999, 2003, 2005, and 2007.
Basically, what I'm saying here is that THE SPURS HAVE NEVER REPEATED! Dynasties to tend to repeat at least once, or twice. But who am I to say?
The Lakers, on the other hand, have already repeated, and 3-peated. That's a team you can definately call "A Dynasty".
Fuck no! The Lakers kicked ass over Larry Bird's Celtics back in the 80's 2 of the 3 times the Lakers faced them in the Finals. Back in a Decade owned by the Lakers you considered the Celtics "A Dynasty"? Oh that's really rich!
No, they're not. Where did you come up with that notion? they're not a Dynasty because the Showtime Lakers had their dynasty at that time. Bird's Celtics had some of the better teams in NBA history, but they never repeated during that time and were denied both times by the LA LAkers, who did repeat. Boston had a chance to be a dynasty, but had a another team in the way, so it can only be called a regional/conference Dynasty since they took 5 out of 7.
that's good, but it's not a dynasty. I'm not downing their system at all, but it's being too liberal with the word. The Celtics and Redskins of the 80's had championship years and were always contending, but they never got back to back. All the great teams have done that at least once during their dynasty years. And let us not forget that the Lakers had a 3 peat during this Spurs run of Championships.
So you're saying the Celtics aren't a Dynasty, and the Lakers were already a Dynasty before that... Back to back doesn't determine consistency or a dynasty, finishing ability and more then 3 rings in just 9 years, and the spurs biggest personnel change was after the '99 season, so basically doing it with the same players over and over does....
That depends on which era of the boston Celtics. Had the Celtics won the 85 and 87 finals I would have said the Celtics of the 80's were a true dynasty. As it turned out the lakers won them and they turned out to be a dynasty with 5 rings in 9 years and winning all but 2 of their conference finals. And yes, back to back does help determine consistency and greatness, which is why its so chased after and seldom attained during a players career.
Secondly, its about using the Dynasty word too loosely. were hear the d word thrown around like Frisbees. They tried to apply that to the NJ devils and the Red Wings, but even those teams down played the d word. Right now the Spurs, while great and a proven team, have been on par with the St. Louis Cardinals of the 1940's, with hardly anyone remembering them at all.
they aren't rememberer because they don't have Kobe or Lebron caliber superstars on their team and have a "slow" offensive game and a proven defense but, because they aren't remembered doesn't take away the fact that the Tim Duncan Era Spurs are a Dynasty in their own right, you don't just consistently win championship and not deserve the title, next your going to tell me that the New England Patriots of the early 2000s aren't a dynasty...
Slow down MIss Cleo. Lets see they're proven to be consistent, but they can't be consistent enough to win back to back? And lets get things right, as the 1999 season was a contracted strike season. Hell the 8th seed team got to the finals, so it wasn't really complete season that would stand up to 2009. Also, the New England Patriots were a dynasty as they actually went back to back in the NFl, where its harder to go repeat than in any other league.
haha, I know all about the strike season, and again back to back doesn't define a dynasty, where you got this information is beyond me but whatever, and finally you say something I can agree with since I am also a HUGE New England Patriots fan...
How about back to back championships? All the great Dynasties have won it more than once every other year. The Old Minnianpolis Lakers, the Bill Russell Celtics, the Show Time LAkers, the repeat 3 peats of the Chicago Bulls, and the 3 peat of the Kobe/Shaq era.Right now they rank with the 80's Celtics, but they are not a dynasty until they get back to back.
They don't crown champions just before March. Right now the champs are in Boston and who ever the the 2009 Chanps are, they won't be crowned until June. I hate this premature bullshit celebrations. You just lost Ginobli and the LAkers cleaned your clock.
Ive said it all four times they won it befor they won it. Ill never doubt my team, and ill never root for anyone else to win the title. i also said it before our injuries you dumb shit. way to kick me when were down, go fuck yourself.
Well, start doubting as you're the fool that crowned them 2009 champs before they even stepped foot in to the playoffs. Next time don't make the mistake of prematurely celebrating because it makes you look silly. As far as the injuries, well cry me a river. The spurs didn't accept the excuses of LA when they had people on the DLor by the Suns who had players suspended for incidents that the Spurs started. No one weeps for you in the NBA. You play with the chips your dealt or don't play at all.
You do know you have to get out of the first round in order to be champs, moron? This is why you don't celebrate a championship before the season is even done.
I know were down 3-1, and we have who we have. I live in San An tonio, and at least I had the balls to wear my Ginobili Jersey to AAArena in Dallas for game 4 and walk out of there amongst Mavs fans who acted like they won the title already...Trust me, throwing a premature title cheer for my team is nothing compared to planning a parade for going up 2-0 on Miami in 06'. I have a lot to be proud of, so why would I ever doubt my team? Im pissed because knowwe are good enough as is to beat Dallas.
Face it, The spurs are too old now. You got parker, but your big defensive men are past their prime and are now very old by NBA standards. BTW, I really wouldn't start talking blown series after going up 2-0, especially coming from San Antonio. Remember .04?
Good enough to beat Dallas? So far that's proven to be false and do you really think the spurs can take on the Cavs, Lakers, and Celtics of the NBA? Duncan has only a few years left in him, Bowen has even fewer, and Finley is not the player he used to be. Look, I think the Spurs is model for most teams, but to say they're a dynasty is diluting the true essence of what a dynasty is. The Yankees, the Pats, Steelers, 49ers, packers, Cowboys, the Bulls, etc. all had repeat championships.
Rockets won back to back and are not considered a dynasty. To say Spurs are not a dynasty compared to those teams you mentioned sucks because you are talking about teams who have dominated over long periods of time. C'mon were talking about RINGS here, and Spurs won 3 out of 5. Do you know how hard it is to win 1? Obviously not.
Were the only west team to win a title since 2003. Now teams just PAY for titles like the Celtics, Yankees, those teams cant stick with a true core.
The spurs are and were never a dynasty.
Check the dictionary people and look up dynasty.

im so sick of ppl talkin down abt the spurs. they deserve just as much respect as the lakers maybe more. they've been consistently good, never had off court on court drama, timmy d is an unselfish leader, they've won 4 titles, and play great team ball. everyone who is talkin down abt them need to shut up. every team isnt flashy and loud.
vidaa82 3 weeks ago
What I love about the Spurs is not only do they always make the playoffs and contend for a title year in year out,but they do it in a humble, selfless, classy way, so much so that most NBA fans and pundits have written them off to the lottery since 2006 LOL!!!

Short season huh? Have you ever thought that a short season is worse on the players. Just like this years with the back to back games. Everyone is not as tired as they would be with a longer season. So to say because of a short season is why they won is stupid. Oh and if the Lakers would have won it be a different story, right? And dont forget the Spurs have gone through the Lakers and have also ended the Lakers run and made some of the Lakers cry .... lol
Trax07 3 days ago
@Trax07 You're right, had the Lakers won the Short non all star game 1999 title it would be a "different story" but im glad the Lakers didn't win that asterik short season.
Had the lakers won it in 99, Kurt Rambis would have stayed as Head Coach and Phil Jackson would have not come to LA.
Shaq was out of shape prio to the 2000 season, Phil Jackson made him get in shape and made Shaq & Kobe get along and brought the triangle offense and great defense and helped the lakers win Titles.

kobe alone or along with odom couldn't do it back then
also, the spurs never lost a finals series
AlucardHiryu16 1 year ago
@AlucardHiryu16 No, but the Lakers own the Spurs lifetime in Playoff Competition. The Lakers have taken 8 of the 11 Playoff Series they have had with the Spurs.
The only 3 times the Spurs have defeated the Lakers in Playoff Competition was in 1995, 1999 and in 2003.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
@AlucardHiryu16 True, the Lakers have been around a lot longer in the NBA than the San Antonio Spurs. Being the case, let's just go back to 1977 which happens to be San Antonio's First Season in the NBA. As we all know that the Spurs won a total of 4 World Championships from 1977 to the present. Well in that same time frame, the Lakers have won a Grand Total of 10 World Championships! There is no hiding the fact that the Lakers are superior.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
theres no doubt the Lakers will always be better than the Spurs, but ESPN ranks the Spurs as the number 3 best NBA franchise of all-time, first obviously being the Lakers, second being the Celtics
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
What is it that determines that success of the Lakers all the time, and with Professional Sports teams as well? Is it the Owner, General Manager, or just luck? how do the Lakers always stumble onto Superstar talent and great Coaches all the time?
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
don't get me wrong, I love the Lakers since I live in Southern California, I just wish other Southern California Sports teams were consistently as great year in and year out like the Lakers are, the Lakers pretty much never rebuild, they just reload all the time, and no, I can never see the Spurs reloading like the Lakers have.
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 I hear you. I have been living in Los Angeles since 1967 and I have always loved the Lakers. Probably the reason why the Lakers have always been successful in their storied past is their mystique. And even back in 1972 when the Lakers won their 1st Championship in Los Angeles, everyone wants bring their "A Game" when playing the Lakers. Basically, it is their reputation that becomes their "Law of Attraction" to get some of the NBA's Best Players.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 And besides having that "Law of Attraction", they also have an Owner in Dr. Jerry Buss, who besides being a Professional Poker Player, also is never afraid to "Ante up" when it is necessary for another Championship Drive. But the main reason why the Lakers have been successful during Dr. Buss' reign has been Jerry West, the man who have kept the Lakers "The Cream of the Crop" in the NBA. After building the 1980's Dynasty of the Showtime Lakers, then the Dynasty of 2000-02.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
and do you credit Mitch Kupchak for building the current Lakers dynasty? so the success of the Lakers, or any other Professional Sports team in general always or usually comes down to the owner and general manager? the moves they make in the off-season? I wish the Dodgers had ownership and management like that, it sucks that the Dodgers have not won and nor have they been to the World Series since 1988, pretty much the Lakers are here to compete every year
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
meanwhile the other Southern California Sports teams are not as committed, or just not as smart as knowing how to win like the Lakers are, also, I wish Los Angeles had an NFL team, your probably old enough to remember back when L.A. had an NFL, or 2 NFL teams with the Raiders and the Rams, when they left L.A. in 1994, I was only 6 years old and I did not follow Sports yet.
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 Yes, I do credit Mitch Kupchak for building the current Back-to-Back World Champions. I would not want to call this version of the Lakers "A Dynasty", not yet. The same Mitch Kupchak that Lakers fans everywhere(Including myself) wanted to be exiled back in 2005. The Lakers have that something special that no other NBA Team, not even the Celtics, have.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
agreed, but don't you wish there was an NFL team in Los Angeles? I seriously wish there was, I'm not really into College Football, so I kinda get bored with UCLA and USC
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 In 2013, there will be NFL Football in Los Angeles after a new stadium will be built in the City of Industry off of Grand Avenue not too far off Diamond Bar. About 25 miles east of Los Angeles. And after it has been built, there will be 7 NFL Teams interested in coming to Los Angeles to play Football.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
it's just very dissapointing, very unfair on how the second largest city in America does not have an NFL team, out of all the Major Professional Sports Leagues in North America, the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL, the NFL is without a doubt the most popular and most known, it has the highest ratings, the Super Bowl is the biggest media sporting event, it owns the NBA Finals, World Series, and Stanley Cup Finals, and it's just not right how there is no NFL team in L.A.
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
this year, this season is the 16th season without an NFL team in Los Angeles, and the NFL and L.A. have been going in circles ever since, they have been saying that for years that the NFL will return to Los Angeles, I remembered Roger Goodell saying that L.A. will be an NFL city again before the end of the Decade, well, look at L.A. now? L.A. was supposed to get the expansion team in 2002, but lost to Houston, the year Houston got the Texans.
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 I hear what you're saying, but like I told you, The City of Los Angeles will have an NFL Team by 2013. So please be patient and wait just 3 more years after the new stadium will be built, and a Football Team will be playing here in Los Angeles. And if I had my way, I would bring the Vikings to Los Angeles. But I do not believe that The State of Minnesota would be happy with my decision. But I'll take anyone but the Rams or Raiders!
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
what I find very stupid is that, since everyone claims that L.A. will not support an NFL team, then yet why to the Clippers still exist? the Clippers have been pathetic throughout their entire history, so it's like, how come Los Angeles will tolerate a losing franchise like the Clippers, but not an NFL team? In my opinion the Clippers should not be an NBA team anymore, they should be an NBA-Development league team or something
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 Because the Clippers are not a Los Angeles Team! They are Houseguests on a very extended stay here in Los Angeles. If I had my way, I would sent the Clippers back to San Diego. In fact, at a Clippers game(I kid you not!), someone was outside the Staples Center with a Petition to send the Clippers back to San Diego, and people were signing that petition. But when the Clippers Brass got wind of it, they immediately confiscated it.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
what do you mean Clippers Brass?
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 Those in the Clippers Front Office.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
I hate Donald Sterling with a huge passion, I can't wait until he croaks, he was born 1933 so he doesn't have that much longer to live, eventhough I have never been a Clippers fan, I just hate how he uses the Clippers as a way to make profit, he uses them as a Business instead of a Sports team, I plan to sign that petition to send them back to San Diego, or anywhere as long as they are not in L.A.
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 I highly think that everyone here in Los Angeles is starting to feel the same way you do(Including myself) about the Clippers. The Clippers should have never left San Diego!

Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
@Jiltedin2007 Perhaps the Spurs could reload. They have before. After David Robinson left, the Spurs had a bit of reloading to do, and they did it, and 2 seasons later, the Spurs won their 3rd NBA championship.
EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 1 year ago
@EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 We'll see what happens. It's really all about the Playoffs that makes Players(like Kobe) into Legends. Sure, the Spurs have the NBA's Best Record, but that dosen't mean jack until you go very far into the Playoffs. Look back to your last Championship Year, #1 Dallas got themselves embarrassed by Golden State in the First Round. It marked the only time the MVP Award(To Dirk Nowitzki) was not presented before a Playoff Game. So basically, anything can happen.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
@EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 It's very possible that the Spurs can reload, but they do not come close to having the money the Lakers spend on Free Agents. The only way the Spurs could reload and surpass the Lakers is through the NBA Draft a la David Robinson and Tim Duncan, and only hope for greatness from their Draft Picks. Players like those I have mentioned do not come "A Dime A Dozen".
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 Ok, really? The Lakers won't ALWAYS be better than the Spurs, in fact, right now, the Spurs are doing much better than the Lakers. No disrespect intended.
EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 1 year ago
it's not so much the regular-season that counts, it's the post-season, the NBA's best team is always determined in the post-season, and plus, the Lakers really never rebuild, they just reload, they have never gone through a stretch without a Superstar player in their entire history, they just stumble onto them, and amazingly, the Lakers have missed the playoffs only 5 times in their 62 to 63 year history, and have been in the NBA Finals amazingly 31 times, for like half their existence.

Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
yes, the Spurs never won rings consecutively, they never repeated, sucks for them
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
Hey San Antonio, 16 to 4. What does that tell you?
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
Hey Spurs Fans, do you still call your team "A Dynasty"? Learn a lesson from the Lakers before you open your mouths! We have now just repeated, which is something a team is supposed to do when they want to call themselves "A Dynasty". And guess what, we may want to Three-Peat next year!
Los Angeles Lakers - 2010 World Champions. Back-to-Back!
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
hahaha, you got that right, eventhough I am a Lakers fan too as well, well at least the Spurs have rings unlike the weak ass Suns
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 Yes, you can't take that away those 4 Championship Rings from San Antonio. I want to say something derogatory about the Suns, but I just can't. Let us not forget who swept out these pathetic Spurs in the Playoffs. But the Suns can't win the big ones, and with Amare Stoudamire now in New York, God help Steve Nash!
But the 4 the Spurs have won will never compare to the Lakers 16 World Championships!
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
thats true, 16 to 4, always better, Lakers own the Spurs!!!!!!!!!
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 And always will. Unlike the Spurs, the Lakers have already repeated, and Three-peated. When will the Spurs win "Number 5"? NEVER! The Lakers will win 5 more Championships before the Spurs ever contend for another.
I want to spit on this video about the Spurs being "A Dynasty"!
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
and I also know that the Lakers will eventually surpass the Celtics in number of rings
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 That is a given! And did you know? Since 1986(When the Celtics won "Number 16") The Lakers have won 7 Championships to the Celtics 1.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
the Lakers are the greatest, best team in NBA history, even ESPN ranks them number 1, eventhough they trail the Celtics by only 1 ring, the Lakers have been a lot more consistent throughout their entire history, they have only missed the playoffs only 5 times in their entire history, have the highest winning percentage, have more regular season wins, playoff wins, playoff series wins than any other NBA team, the Lakers have never gone through a stretch without a Superstar player
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
ESPN ranks the Lakers number 1, the Celtics number 2, the Spurs number 3, and the Bulls number 4. Also most of the Celtics championships came during the late 50's throughout most of the 60's, when there was less competition, only 8 NBA teams back then, the Modern NBA which began in the 1970's, since then, the Celtics have won only 6 Championships(1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986, 2008) the Lakers have won 11(1972, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010)
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 Yes, back in a time when the Celtics had The Greatest Player in the NBA in Bill Russell, and when the Celtics did win their 11 World Championships from 1957 to 1969, and 8 in a row from 1959 to 1966. And since then, yes, the Celtics have won 6 Championships to our 11. And also now that we have won "Number 16", I have to say that since 1986(When the Celtics won "Number 16"), the Lakers have won 7 World Championships to the Celtics 1.

and it all comes down to having the best Owner and General Manager in all of Professional Sports
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago
@nobodysperfect06 Exactly, and Dr. Jerry Buss was it! The Man who got Magic Johnson, and once Magic became a Part Owner of the Lakers, you knew that great players were going to come. But let us also not the General Manager who was even more responsible for the building of a Dynasty. That Man happens to be Jerry West, who worked his Butt off in making the Los Angeles Lakers "The Cream of the Crop" in the NBA. I bet you even today after retirement, Jerry West still has a hand in the Lakers.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
agreed, the Lakers have been in the NBA Finals 31 times in their entire existence, thats half their existence, not even the Yankees have been in the World Series that many times, the Lakers are the greatest professional sports team of all-time!!!!
nobodysperfect06 1 year ago

It's all about the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA!
Jiltedin2007 2 years ago
Who gives a shit about the damn fakers anyways? you are where you are because the league have constantly giving you shit in a platter.
I for one don't hate the fakers, the wnnniest franchise is the Celtics and they are not bragging about anything.
Shut your piehole mother fucker!
Stern has given you those titles, your franchise is an oportunistic franchise, cheaters and more burn in hell!

Asshole!
myfancypantz2010 2 years ago
@myfancypantz2010
Jiltedin2007 2 years ago
@myfancypantz2010 Go ahead and hate the Lakers, I don't give a shit anyway!
Another reason why I always call the Lakers, THE NEW YORK YANKEES OF BASKETBALL!
Who do you like anyway? These Pathetic Spurs? Who got their Asses kicked by us back in 2008, and also let's not forget Derek Fisher with .4 seconds left.
Jiltedin2007 2 years ago
@Jiltedin2007 Fisher's .4 was... amazing.. that only led the lakers to total humiliation by the pistons.. im not hating the lakers, but i do think that the way the spurs play will probably stand a higher chance against the pistons
DDavidDVD 1 year ago
@DDavidDVD No, I have to disagree with you. What led to the Lakers embarassment at the Hands of the Piston in the 2004 NBA Finals was the Lack of Continuity the Lakers had as a whole. Shaq demanded to be traded after the season, and he went to Miami. Phil Jackson stepped down as Head Coach, and Kobe was deciding whether to play for the Lakers or the Cippers. And when the day came for Kobe to decide to play for ther Lakers, Derek Fisher signed with Golden State.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
@Jiltedin2007 Dude stop comparing the Lakers to the New York Yankees, the Yankees have 27 world titles and the Lakers only have 15 and 5 were won in Minneapolis, besides the Celtics have more 17 and dont say cuz they won 11 in the Bill Russell years, its what is accomplished through out the franchise's exsistence, esspecially in the city they have won in through out the championships.
jriv27 1 year ago
@jriv27 And how many of those Championships did those Celtics win since 1986? ONE! Wheras the Lakers won 6 of them, and they're going to win number 7 next month!
And besides, like the Yankees, the Lakers have been consistent in winning Championships. I only wonder how many of those 11 Championships the Celtics would have won without Bill Russell, who was owning Big Wilt annually in the Eastern Conference.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago
@jriv27 And if only Basketball would have been around as long as Baseball has, yes the Lakers would definately have 27 World Championships by now! After all, Baseball was already 80 years old when the NBA was born.
Another example, your Pathetic Spurs came into the NBA in the 1976-77 Season, and has won 4 World Championships since then. Well San Antonio, in that period of time, the Lakers have won a total of 9 World Championships. Case and Point!

ITSME1267 1 year ago
@ITSME1267 For what? Cheating? If it was not for Red Auerbach getting Bill Russell in the 1956 NBA Draft, the Celtics would not have won those 11 Titles in a 13 year time period. And in the 80's, they had to cheat to beat the Lakers in 1984.
Jiltedin2007 1 year ago

Go Rockets!!
Warriospwn 2 years ago
From a Rockets fan:
The Spurs may have 4 titles and yes the last time we won an NBA title was in 1995.
A lot of Spurs fans say that S.A is better then Rockets. Well, S.A may indeed have 4 titles but history and bragging rights belong to the Rockets.
Let us remember the 1995 Western Finals were S.A was #1 and Rockets #6? Who won that match? Thats right the ROCKETS #6.
So laugh and celebrate but until you beat us at the playoffs we are better.
We were the first TEXAS team to win an NBA title

ITSME1267 2 years ago
@ITSME1267 Anyoen who proclaims a championship when the season is only a third done is a loser. The spurs are in no position to make any run at the championship this year. That's not to say it can't happen, but are you really going to say that the Spurs can match up against Denver, Dallas, and LA in the playoffs. And can they match up against the Boston Celtics?
naziluv 2 years ago
well im not sure bout boston or la but i think they could win against denver for sure

Why don't you learn how to repeat first, before you can call yourselves "A Dynasty"!
Jiltedin2007 2 years ago
Totally Dinasty
You cant call dinasty to the 3peat of the lakers ...
They lost finals, and have a process of reconstruction, thats not domination of the decade
Spurs Have been dominate since tim duncan arrive, and they have been in the playoffs and they don lose finals and its not over ... the spurs go for more
Many people hate the spurs for been the rivals of lakers, mavs and suns, etc
hemelekkoff 2 years ago
If you're going to make a point about how the Spurs were a "dinasty", please make sure to spell it right. The SPurs were a a very good, solid team, but let us not lower the bar for what makes a Dynasty. This isn't the NFL, where any repeat is difficult, it's the NBA where repeats have happened often in the last 21 years. It has happened 6 times since then with the only non dynasties being Houston and Detroit. Both of those runs occurred during or in between Dynasties already in progress.
naziluv 2 years ago
BTW, The Lakers of the early part of the Decade won trips to the Finals out of 5 possible trips. That's domination. Not winning every other year after having another team 3peat during your supposed reign. Dynasties don't typically do that, unless the Bulls, who were Jordan-less for practically the entire 2 years of the Houston Rockets back to back run. You also can't claim dynasty status when you allow the Lakers to make to more repeat trips and watch them get their 4th ring of the decade.
naziluv 2 years ago
yep the spurs are a dynasty fuck anyone that saids their not cause 4 titles is considered a dynasty to those dumb bitches lolers go spurs go
SpurEmpireStrikeBack 2 years ago
Fact: every single dynasty that has ever existed in the NBA has at least repeated once during their championship runs. Fact: The Spurs have never run back to back during their championship stretches. FAct: The LAkers had a 3 peat Dynasty during in between the '99 ( strike shortened) and '03 seasons. I haver never denied that they were consistent. Don't mistake consistency with dynasty. Being a dynasty is a kin to being in the hall of fame of champions. It's the HOF( ame) not the really good.
naziluv 2 years ago
Lakers > Spurs
Jiltedin2007 2 years ago
Spurs are definately a Dynasty. No where does it say you have to win back to back. It says you have to be consistent on winning championships. They were definately consistent. Winning 4 titles over a 9 year period easily makes them a Dynasty.
Theres also a good chance they can win their 5th next season.
redsoxrule4eva24 2 years ago
It depends on which sport we're talkign about. If this were the NFL you woudl have a point. But this is basketball and every single dynasty that has come before in the NBA has accomplished this feat. To be a dynasty you have to be better than being good enough to just win a few championships. And going back to back doesn't do it alone either. All the great Dynasties had both of these things and that's what the SPurs don't. It sets the bar to low and takes away from true dynasties.
naziluv 2 years ago
Kiss the Rings, Bitches!
Jiltedin2007 2 years ago
Dynasty, Yeah right! Learn to repeat before you can call yourselves "A Dynasty". Let's see, shall we? San Antonio's Championship Years: 1999, 2003, 2005, and 2007.
Basically, what I'm saying here is that THE SPURS HAVE NEVER REPEATED! Dynasties to tend to repeat at least once, or twice. But who am I to say?
The Lakers, on the other hand, have already repeated, and 3-peated. That's a team you can definately call "A Dynasty".
AND WE'RE GOING BACK TO BACK IN 2010!
Jiltedin2007 2 years ago
Larry Birds Celtics never repeated and they considered a dynasty.
Colidape 2 years ago
Fuck no! The Lakers kicked ass over Larry Bird's Celtics back in the 80's 2 of the 3 times the Lakers faced them in the Finals. Back in a Decade owned by the Lakers you considered the Celtics "A Dynasty"? Oh that's really rich!
Jiltedin2007 2 years ago
No, they're not. Where did you come up with that notion? they're not a Dynasty because the Showtime Lakers had their dynasty at that time. Bird's Celtics had some of the better teams in NBA history, but they never repeated during that time and were denied both times by the LA LAkers, who did repeat. Boston had a chance to be a dynasty, but had a another team in the way, so it can only be called a regional/conference Dynasty since they took 5 out of 7.
naziluv 2 years ago
Oh, yes. The Celtics did rule the East back in the 80's.

just becuz they havent won back 2 back means nothing check tha stats they havent missed tha playoffs since 98 thats consistency
teka33 3 years ago
that's good, but it's not a dynasty. I'm not downing their system at all, but it's being too liberal with the word. The Celtics and Redskins of the 80's had championship years and were always contending, but they never got back to back. All the great teams have done that at least once during their dynasty years. And let us not forget that the Lakers had a 3 peat during this Spurs run of Championships.
naziluv 3 years ago
So you're saying the Celtics aren't a Dynasty, and the Lakers were already a Dynasty before that... Back to back doesn't determine consistency or a dynasty, finishing ability and more then 3 rings in just 9 years, and the spurs biggest personnel change was after the '99 season, so basically doing it with the same players over and over does....
ktownking91 2 years ago
That depends on which era of the boston Celtics. Had the Celtics won the 85 and 87 finals I would have said the Celtics of the 80's were a true dynasty. As it turned out the lakers won them and they turned out to be a dynasty with 5 rings in 9 years and winning all but 2 of their conference finals. And yes, back to back does help determine consistency and greatness, which is why its so chased after and seldom attained during a players career.
naziluv 2 years ago
Secondly, its about using the Dynasty word too loosely. were hear the d word thrown around like Frisbees. They tried to apply that to the NJ devils and the Red Wings, but even those teams down played the d word. Right now the Spurs, while great and a proven team, have been on par with the St. Louis Cardinals of the 1940's, with hardly anyone remembering them at all.
naziluv 2 years ago
they aren't rememberer because they don't have Kobe or Lebron caliber superstars on their team and have a "slow" offensive game and a proven defense but, because they aren't remembered doesn't take away the fact that the Tim Duncan Era Spurs are a Dynasty in their own right, you don't just consistently win championship and not deserve the title, next your going to tell me that the New England Patriots of the early 2000s aren't a dynasty...
ktownking91 2 years ago
Slow down MIss Cleo. Lets see they're proven to be consistent, but they can't be consistent enough to win back to back? And lets get things right, as the 1999 season was a contracted strike season. Hell the 8th seed team got to the finals, so it wasn't really complete season that would stand up to 2009. Also, the New England Patriots were a dynasty as they actually went back to back in the NFl, where its harder to go repeat than in any other league.
naziluv 2 years ago
haha, I know all about the strike season, and again back to back doesn't define a dynasty, where you got this information is beyond me but whatever, and finally you say something I can agree with since I am also a HUGE New England Patriots fan...

How about back to back championships? All the great Dynasties have won it more than once every other year. The Old Minnianpolis Lakers, the Bill Russell Celtics, the Show Time LAkers, the repeat 3 peats of the Chicago Bulls, and the 3 peat of the Kobe/Shaq era.Right now they rank with the 80's Celtics, but they are not a dynasty until they get back to back.

supersoberguy1 3 years ago
They don't crown champions just before March. Right now the champs are in Boston and who ever the the 2009 Chanps are, they won't be crowned until June. I hate this premature bullshit celebrations. You just lost Ginobli and the LAkers cleaned your clock.
naziluv 3 years ago
Ive said it all four times they won it befor they won it. Ill never doubt my team, and ill never root for anyone else to win the title. i also said it before our injuries you dumb shit. way to kick me when were down, go fuck yourself.
supersoberguy1 2 years ago
Well, start doubting as you're the fool that crowned them 2009 champs before they even stepped foot in to the playoffs. Next time don't make the mistake of prematurely celebrating because it makes you look silly. As far as the injuries, well cry me a river. The spurs didn't accept the excuses of LA when they had people on the DLor by the Suns who had players suspended for incidents that the Spurs started. No one weeps for you in the NBA. You play with the chips your dealt or don't play at all.
naziluv 2 years ago
You do know you have to get out of the first round in order to be champs, moron? This is why you don't celebrate a championship before the season is even done.
naziluv 2 years ago
I know were down 3-1, and we have who we have. I live in San An tonio, and at least I had the balls to wear my Ginobili Jersey to AAArena in Dallas for game 4 and walk out of there amongst Mavs fans who acted like they won the title already...Trust me, throwing a premature title cheer for my team is nothing compared to planning a parade for going up 2-0 on Miami in 06'. I have a lot to be proud of, so why would I ever doubt my team? Im pissed because knowwe are good enough as is to beat Dallas.
supersoberguy1 2 years ago
Face it, The spurs are too old now. You got parker, but your big defensive men are past their prime and are now very old by NBA standards. BTW, I really wouldn't start talking blown series after going up 2-0, especially coming from San Antonio. Remember .04?
naziluv 2 years ago
Of course I remember I was there you dumb shit. Do you remember who won the title that year? ehhhh! Detroit, not L.A.
Who gives a shit anyway, Mavs wont win shit, and its already monday.
supersoberguy1 2 years ago
Good enough to beat Dallas? So far that's proven to be false and do you really think the spurs can take on the Cavs, Lakers, and Celtics of the NBA? Duncan has only a few years left in him, Bowen has even fewer, and Finley is not the player he used to be. Look, I think the Spurs is model for most teams, but to say they're a dynasty is diluting the true essence of what a dynasty is. The Yankees, the Pats, Steelers, 49ers, packers, Cowboys, the Bulls, etc. all had repeat championships.
naziluv 2 years ago
Rockets won back to back and are not considered a dynasty. To say Spurs are not a dynasty compared to those teams you mentioned sucks because you are talking about teams who have dominated over long periods of time. C'mon were talking about RINGS here, and Spurs won 3 out of 5. Do you know how hard it is to win 1? Obviously not.
Were the only west team to win a title since 2003. Now teams just PAY for titles like the Celtics, Yankees, those teams cant stick with a true core.
So Phuk Hole.
