Future Honda owner here.. Trying to decide between the 230f or a 250. I would most likely do more trail riding but i want a bike that can jump aswell.. any ideas?

@EyfdRick5956 depends on how skilled you are. if your a begginer or ever intermediate go with the 230. there lighter and easier control and ive jumped my 230. now if your intermediat to advanced and you like to go a little bit faster the 250 is a better bike. i live in alaska and ive takin my 230 everywhere through some rough terrain so i know for sure the 230 is a great bike.

@XAlexmotoX Dude! No disrespect but steal frames can be made lighter than aluminium! The CRF230 weight comes from it's engine. You have to use more material with aluminium to get steal's strength. So actually aluminium frames are heaviest. The Japs trick us, with that selling pitch, that's how they got us on those Giraffe frame 450s

@asssface2000 actually your wrong and right. yes honda uses old simple tech which is why they are know for there reliablilty. but hondas are know for power. honda statistically has more horspower over the equivalent yamaha and im not just saying this its actually true. but yamaha has cut down on reliability and hp for cornering. yamahas have good balance and handling. so in a way there really equal. honda barely wins the straights. yamaha barely wins the cornering.

@ibanez35924 nice theory buddy. honda consistantly offers the smallest dispalacement and lowest horsepower in any given class. and ive personally seen more hondas break down than any other jap brand. the reputation for reliability came from the 80's when they were slightly more reliable than other makers. today they are no more reliable than any other jap machine OR american/canadian machines. you PAY more and GET less with honda.

@asssface2000 my honda is a 2004. its gone through 7 years of hell in alaska and ive never had to push the start button more than twice. ive had to rebuild my yamaha twice. your just a biased asshole. honda isnt my favorite brand by any means but i do believe there the most reliably. my honda outboard fell out of the back of a truck and was then put in a garage for 2 years. i walked outside today and with one pull it started. honda may not have the best performance but there reliable.

a good thing to do with the handle bars is rotate them foreward just overthe front bolt on the mount. It makes the bike seem bigger, and it improves the handling.

@luisRRR69 honda didn't add electric start on the 150r, and 250r simply because it robs power and adds an extra 5-8 pounds to bikes that have a reputation for being two of the lightest and quickest out of the factory... the 230f is a purebred trail bike, and it does great at what it was built for.

I have owned and ridden a crf230f for 2 years, and i now own and ride a crf450r. Yea, the 450r has monster power and suspension compared to the 230, but fuck i loved my 230 almost just as much as my 450.

@luisRRR69 The crf XXXr's are race bikes, this is merely a trial ridden put-put bike, or in my dad's case, street legal as well. Air cooling is reliable, and we've never had issues with the e-starts on any honda vehicle, but bump starting is stupid easy with the lower compression it has in comparison to the race models. Fun ass bike though, even though it is a 230, but you gotta start somewhere i guess.

@luisRRR69 ya and the 150r and 250r are both motorcross bikes. the 230f is a trail bike. in other words if your doing true offroading this bike to kill a 150r or 250r. the bikes are made for different things. my 230 died because i poped the clutch(i was almost hit by a plane, its a long story) on a hill. all i have to do is push the little button and im off. on the other two bike i have to kick start the bike. your bikes are spontaneous while mine is controlable. 2 different styles.

Yeah i rejetted the carb with Keihin jets120M/45J. Airfuel at 1.75 turns out. I'm in nor cal close to sea level. Hope this helps.
