  • They tried this in superman returns. It didn't work out so well.

  • and NASA seems to be going in reverse in there ship design here we have an independent company inventing a better ship This could be used for other things.

  • sounds good, but i dread the thought of rich parents taking their kids into space for them to go "this is so boooring" after a few centuries

  • so whens mega bus running this service?

  • Comment removed

  • 5g is no cake walk. its pretty much the limit of what the best fighter pilots can handle. most people pass out at 5g due to lack of blood to the brain.

  • @instinct09 Fighter pilots are trained to handle 10 g's. So I think normal people could handle 5.

  • @KillWithFire12 actually no. normal people pass out at 5g's. thats 5 times their own weight.. for a normal person that would make them weigh close to half a tone.

  • Awesome helmets reminds me Emeiles helmet in Halo Reach

  • the"little pod in the middle"was developed from a nasa escape pod for the iss sweet

  • Cool video!!! Thank you very much!!!

  • Will they offer free WiFi lol

  • Sexiest Spaceship Ever.... so he called it after his mum. No comment.

  • America to Australia in 1 1/2 hours, I like the sound of that.

  • I think Richard Branson had a huge influence on the Venus Project. (Venus Project and Virgin)

  • Make it so.

  • N.Y. to Sydney in perhaps two hours, wow just think of all the possibilities. This is the dawning of the age of aquarius. Good job Mr. Rutan, and Mr. Branson, and all the dedicated crew who have built this amazing ship/s

  • reporter: "and how do u get back to Earth afterwords?"

    Branson:"well, uh..... next question"

  • @PetraJnanners The underside seems mayhaps treated or otherwise similarly ceramic-clad to shuttles. Either that or they don't go high up enough to worry about re-entry in that way, but still high enough to experience weightlessness and get the spectacular view.

  • SPAAACE!

  • @alkaydash Oh my god im in space. In space. SPACE!

  • im never going to space, imagine if it went wrong and you were floating in space for days until you die....no thanks

  • @TomatoKetchup5724 you can allways open your helmet :P or you are going to run out of air eventually

  • @BassSquid yh i suppose lol but i couldnt kill myself

  • screw the mile high club *_*

  • "Stephen Hawkins?"

That would be Stephen Hawking, sir, and you're carrying him up there...

  • LMAO 15 hours from LAX to sydney.. from that spacecraft in spaceflight 1, half hour shiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • The alien backengineered technology is a few thousand years more advanced, linearly compared.

  • @MaBu888 lol.

  • Let's go back to Tesla and start over.

  • ofc, the 'Sexiest Spaceship Ever' is a virgin.

  • we don't want this! we want something like starship enterprise

  • @chateytung

    you*

  • Only the rich will be able to afford this.

  • @hitmancoolio At least for now...

  • Ya Ya Kepp dreamin this to happen,Rich people ,,,

  • @kadmany what does that mean

  • @StickyBadger

There woudln't be a spaceship ever like that...

  • @kadmany They're building it right now. There's no reason they can't it just costs money.

  • My dad have afford one and a half ticket. I wish he would buy a ticket for me :D

  • Glad to see Stephen Hawking on board the Virgin Galactic!

  • Stephen Hawking is going up? Wow that's a bit risky. But i think if he died like that he would be satisfied. Branson and Hawking are both two things us Americans should be glad we stole from the British

  • Exciting!

  • Must be nice to be filthy rich!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bellrockyin no it won't because you'll lose it when you die.

  • @bellrockyin dont be so negative this man richard is here for you beleve me that man wil acouplisch ,more then nasa das

  • i was in charge of the network for the unveiling of spaceship one, at the mojave spaceport, it was truly a huge step towards the future of space travel..and I got to meet william shatner and Gene simmons so that ws a plus

  • those helmets look like the ones from halo

  • @dutchguywillem lololol yeah, they do, like the eva helmets or watever they are

  • I love this guy ! He is a very smart man who never finished grammer school because he felt that life itself is all the school he needed & it worked out excellent for him. If you are a dreamer bring it to life & it just might make you a fortune

  • A ticket is currently $200,000 (a lot cheaper than i expected) check out the virgingalactic website

  • Richard Branson is my idle. His desire was to improve the world and this is how he made his money.

  • one thing that conpels me is the speed ????? I though we wouldnt be able to with stand such speeds of what he said in this clip if only one man has flew the blackbird what makes you think people can fly into space with them speeds the blackbird was the fastist military plane to date befor it got decommissioned from mission because it was to fast. fact.

  • Stephen Hawkings is going up. Lawl.

  • This could in two decades replace super long haul flights; and in three long haul flights. No more 15 hour flights to Tokyo!

  • someone should make a porno in space... Imagine a money shot in space?? it could be done from across the ship!

  • @maddman420 read a scifi book with a sex in 0 G chapter but i forgot the name of it. damn it

  • Sir Richard Branson your name will be remeber as pioneer civilian space travelm,i hope will be space hotel in my life time

  • does no one but me wonder how costly that is?

  • @TheOoopoo well considering the cost for fuel, More than any normal person could ever afford.

  • @ruinedninja Well, this method of going up in space if far more economical than a standard spacecraft. A standard spacecraft costs close to a billion dollars everytime they launch, but of course, that's all financed by our government. I dont even think bill gates would be willing to pay 1 billion dollars to go up in space.

I'm pretty sure this is still several milion dollars though.

  • Space tourism. Yawn. It's a novel concept but I'm more interested in what's beyond our orbit. And I don't care for the two-stage style either. Never liked the idea of flying up to space and leaving half of you behind in the process.

Similar ideals, but not quite the implementation I'm looking for.

  • @HitodamaKyrie You're not seeing the bigger picture. When we're adept at travelling into orbit without any accidents in reliable totally reusable vehicles then we can and will reach further out. If we're to venture beyond our solar system the vehicles that take us there will be have to built in orbit. To establish such a manufacturing capability we have to be able to commute into orbit easily. Think long term!

  • @philld8279 You don't seem to realize what I'm thinking. I've already thought about the "bigger picture" you just described and I have already formulated a plan for dealing with the situation. Please don't underestimate my knowledge. Travelling to orbit is relatively easy. It's the logistics that are the real problem.

  • @HitodamaKyrie many people feel the same way, but commercial space flight has to start somewhere, and this is the only practical way to do it. I'm pretty sure the two-stage style is the only financially viable way of getting into space for now.

  • ...sexy?

  • how do you get back?

  • I think this is truly amazing that hawkins can finally go to space!

  • Adios, governmentally funded space research. Adios, outdated ground launched manned vehicles. Thank goodness for Mr. Branson and Mr. Rutan and their wisdom in creating a high altitude launched vehicle. NASA only came up with that around 50 years ago with the X-15, but then didn't follow their own early wisdom and opted instead for a much more complex, harder to lift, more dangerous and expensive ground launched system for their manned space program. Good show, Mr. Branson.

  • I strongly agree . I think NASA and Russia "rest on their laurels ", no more improvement since the landing on the moon . everybody can see that those massive rockets are dangerous , I call them" flying tanks " . how can people cross the stars in such vehicle nearly to burst whenever a malfunction happen ? if mr Bronson succed , investors will come ,and the spaceship will be improved over the years up to go higher and much time .

  • sorry while i drag my club on the ground,og og og.I can, and i think it would be D-lightfull...

  • its....beautiful

  • Maria isnt a program, its a plane) And not "maria", but "mria", on Ukranian it means "Dream" The biggest plane in the world nowadays, it actually exist. It was designed to lift russian shuttles 'Blizzard' into stratosphere and launch them from here onto Earth's orbit. But obeyboss right, that time we were having a badass goverment, project was closed. Delivery price for 1 kilo this way is crazy- less more than 1000 bucks. Jackassess, with this program we could erect our own spacestation)

  • It is a present replica to russian "maria aircraft" space program, that was closed because of low financing (as it always in Russia)

  • Too expensive! Should get Easy Jet to do it... £40 Return, probably just need hand luggage...

  • Comment removed

  • Ah he never said how to get down again!?

  • could be quite obvious as well

  • ah it wasn't mentioned thats right and its too bad because re-entry is one of the more utter genius parts of spaceship 2. google it.

  • Same way as Spaceship One did, in late 2004.

  • its $200.000 per person the ship carries 2 pilots, and 6 passengers.

it starts in 2011 and richard branson is already booking places.

the trip will be 2 and a half hours in space looking down on earth and you take your seatbelt off up there to experience weightlessness.

then of course you come back down.

  • Hopefully you come back down, 'cuz if not you're pretty much screwed.

I hope they've thought about the airsickness bag design very hard. Zero-G? One way valve, and a screw on lid at least. Don't want that stuff getting loose in the cabin.

  • this guy is a visionary, obviously. does anyone know how much it costs?

  • I think I heard something like $200,000

  • And how does that translates to in pounds? I recall that guy was British :/

  • in (GBP) a ticket costs 125 000 pounds.

  • wow.. really great stuff

  • I could probably never be able to afford something like that in my lifetime, and don't like roller coasters. well I guess I'm out!

  • i believe when people go up the'll see things they never thought they would see, E.G - Alien Craft.

We will see how it all goes ehh

  • legal vejam tambm lhasa nick e calopsita...

  • This guy thinks big!

  • but only because he can. you dont think i want to create the worlds largest waterpark or the worlds tallest tower or the fastest car in the world? :-)

  • that's why he has so much money :)

  • Branson is a god... and the only billionaire in the world I'd care to meet someday. Hell I'd be going up every day just to try cool stuff out... Like how fire begins to behave like a liquid in space.

  • w00t! Looks like a science fiction film :o I wanna go in one of those!

  • hmm to be honest i think its cheaper to simulate being at outer space and with HQ simulation. with the graphics we have today its more than possible to simulate earth and stuff and just have you float around using one of those 0 gravity rooms in the form of a space craft, cause when you think about it your not going to see much through those windows.

  • @monckey100, ya but dont people want to say that they have been to space, no matter what the price tag?

  • a point well taken

  • it's still a virgin!

  • @nightrush13 not anymore youre not

  • more 20 years and this will be like buying a airline ticket

  • @ignaciojork

Naw, I'd say more like 40-50 years.

    If we live that long.

  • so sexy...

    oops, gotta change my pants

  • I want to masturbate in outer space!!!!

  • Having sex in outer space sounds way more appealing

  • Amen brother !!!

  • imagine double D tits in zero gravity. fuck yeah

  • i want to be anally gaped in outer space by a fugly alien

  • @evildivision u know for sure thats one reason richard branson is doing this whole thing..

  • @evildivision DIRTTYYY PANTIES!

  • @evildivision nope in space less blood gets to yer penis :I

  • @evildivision and then there were idiots like you who always have follow up with small minded comments

  • @DonJelopy If you listen very carefully, you can hear the sound of me not caring in the distance. If everyone was as narrow minded as you the world would be a sad, sad place....

  • @evildivision Which is more narrow minded? The fact that the first thing you had to say about anything remotely to do with space and the innovations of it was reduced to simpleton's comment on how sex in space sounds more appealing or that I pulled you up on it because clearly you yourself are small and one minded. I'm not narrow minded mate I just reckonise an idiot when I see one

  • @DonJelopy Obviously you didnt get that it was a comment regarding the title of the video but anyway, i won't start an argument with a stuck up jackass on the internet...

  • @DonJelopy for a man who claims to be so intelligent, you can't even solve the equation of life.

  • @kiwiiisland I must have missed that part because I don't believe in anything I said was there a statement claiming myself to be so intelligent. As for solving the equation of life wtf does have to do with it? NOTHING THAT'S WHAT. Idiot

  • @DonJelopy so basically you're just an idiot who loves to say that others are as idiot as you are.

    Pathetic.

    Get a life!

  • @evildivision Yeah who knows what new positions would be available in 0 G

  • @evildivision Yeah that would b one xpensive Root.....

  • @evildivision

Ya only it is more exhausting because you need more power to "push" specially when you gotta "cum" LOL

  • @TheSebulba1978

must be most expensive orgasm ever

  • Demaciado bueno esto.

  • $30,000,000 for a 13 day trip to the international space station or $200,000 for a 30min to 1 hour stay in the exosphere...either way ur still only a space exploration participator...aka astronaut who doesn't work for NASA..they're pushy bout those kinds of things.

  • mmm boobs.

  • Pretty sexy...

  • I wonder what its like to be high in Space? I bet the in flight food must be out of this world lmao. ok that was shit but coulndt help it.

  • its a great innovation for now and the future but I imagine uses huge amounts of fuel which at this rate we wont have in the not-so-distant future

  • Just empty talk.....additionally, it is impractical. Who would buy a ticket for a million bucks?

  • sorry, but it's totally real and it's actually only 200 thousand

  • Do you have a spare 200 thousands?

  • no, but is going to space really that big of a deal for you? cause if you really want to got to space you just have to save up a lot for it, its better than the millions it was before!

  • if only the world didnt have to waste enormous resources in fighting the fucking islamic fundamentalists or the negro nations of africa from buring themselves into the ground..the world would make far more progress

  • I think i understood 10% of that comment.

  • No - I went INTO the hot zone - was surrounded by terrorists and head chopping mujaheddin and gangstas and did my own survey!!!

  • By the way - by resources - i meant the world has spent over 3 trillion dollars PER YEAR on development money in Africa and fighting the mujahiddeens who are killing not only the "infidels" but also each other (sunni vs shias). Their mad quest for the islamics holy order has turned them even against each other. 3 trillion/year = 15 trillion in the las 5!!!! Thats feeding every man woman and child and god knows funding for research on countless illness down the drain!! YES - WASTED RESOURCES!!

  • Very very good call my friend, if there were another cold war then for all we know we could be living in space right now! But god damn people only invest money in the present not the future.

  • billions u stupid american consumer fat cow, ur country at this very moment is eating more than 50 millions burgers per day. damn fat cows

  • HAhahahahAHha

  • hhahaha but is it true they eat that muuch a day?

  • The world will tear apart if we didn't kill all those radical muslims. Thats a fact.

  • how much is it to go/?

  • 200 thousand

  • it says 5 g's

  • there are a lot of space debris thanks to nasa's incompetence. these could literally hit the ship and the window causing a lot of damages..

  • hitting the window would be irrelevant, a speck of dust going 50,000 mph would make a human explode, whether it hits a window or a piece of steel, at such orbital speeds it will pass through like a bullet through the air.

Fortunately, NASA has retired their space station/space ship/rocket production and are now hiring OTHER companies to create ships for them. A wise choice, one that should have been made long ago that would have saved lives.

  • whats your solution to space debris then? They are already tracking most of them specially when they do space walk.

  • @entyceit

It's safe to assume that since these people (NASA included) are professionals and ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, they've probably thought about space debris. They did, after all, put men on the moon. But if you're more competent then them, I apologize.

  • I'm a genius, thats what I am.

  • damn.. that must be one hell of an approach to landing

  • they are everything but virgin! that eye lucks suspicious. ..and delta wings.. masons get there fingers involved everywhere ...some day you will feel that ... great hi

  • There is another ship like this, but I think it is better because you have a better view and it is much cheaper than this, it is like, 40 g's or something like that. Much better than this, I saw it on Daily Planet but I forgot what it as called :o

  • 40 g's?

no person can survive that kind of force

  • can i have a free ticket

  • 5G's for 40 seconds? A lot of people are going to be blacking out from that.

  • 7g's is the passout point for most.

  • Yeah, but if you sustain lower G's for a long time, you'll still pass out.

  • @Koshy2

dunno were you heard about 7g's the last recorded was 6gs from the pilot who flown the Blackbird befor it got decommissioned.

  • @sedgie09

I'm talking about normal threshold for just passing out from acceleration/gravity.

Thought that was 7 g's, might be wrong though.

  • Yes, thats a good one. Take Care

  • America to Ausie in one and a half hours?Interesting.....

  • what is the purpose of this ship?

  • Money Maker!!!

  • Yeah, they always want more.

  • Okay, you've got some nice conceptual designs and a working model....

Now make it practical and we'll have something to talk about.

Discovery, this is hardly "science news"

  • Give me a trip,. can`t afford to travel with that extreme cool sexy spaceship.

i wonder what my GF would said, Honney i am going into space.

Good Job dream is dear to beleive , and beleive is to dear to dream.

  • I think a 2 hr trip is 200 large

  • what i wanna know ... is how many hundreds of thousands of dollars is it gonna cost you to go on this flight...

  • I've seen Burt Rutan do this exact same thing with the exact same vihicle design. several years ago. He had a real ship go up. He did three shots to space with it. The video was called "Dark Sky"

  • ...and with any luck the RV won't roll on its longitudinal axis any more.

  • Seems like you'd have to pay a ton of money, they couldn't do round trips into space 24/7.

  • Just imagine that about a hundred years ago we were starting to experiment with flying devices...we have come a long way.
