A very good video. I liked the combination of well-chosen music of the decade to go with the quality movie posters. It was well blended, and I agree that the ending was totally fitting. Great job!
for the song in the 1930s montage, don't mean a thing(if you aint got that swing), who sings that version? and could you please tell me the song for the 1940s montage?
I would have liked it better if the transitions were more consistent. The "flipping" effects of the '30s, and even the "thrusting" effects of the '90s, work well, but for the ones where the posters are bouncing around (I'm thinking '50s and '60s), some of the images are so askew I can't even make them out. It's a good idea, but it's also a simple one. Less is more.
Could you possibly list the scores you used? I recognized Rich Man's Frug and The Return of the King, but some of the others were so familiar and I couldn't place them! Thanks!
What this fails to show is the huge amount of amazing films that were robbed. Apocalypse Now, Pulp Fiction, Saving Private Ryan, a bunch of Stanley Kubrick's movies Dr. Strangelove, 2001: Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange), and a bunch of Martin Scorsese's movies (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas).
Well intentioned and much appreciated, but why not go all out and give everyone a taste of these movies; maybe pivitol scenes from each, i know it would be long but it would be very cool.
Well that thought has definitely planted itself in my mind and it will take some time but it is in the works. Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
Thanks everyone for the great comments. Let's remember that this video was created as a PRESENTATION of best pictures, not to invoke jabs about what movies should and shouldn't have one. That's another issue all together.
What can i say? Great video! Obviously you're video has more effects and music editing and all that. I loved the music was diferent in every decade representing that time. Good work! Now, what i would like to see is a video like this but with scenes (not pictures) from the movies, that would be a great montage!
This is awesome!

Loved it, well thought out music and nice effects. Just why was Wings at the end with the two oscars on both sides?
Finelight12 4 years ago
Absolutely superb. I think this is the first You Tube video I've ever given five stars. The music was perfect and what a cool final 45 seconds.

It would have been better if you did clips from the movie though.
I liked the music and the part at the end when all the posters are showing and then you have the poster for Wings between the two statues.
Loved it...4 stars!

It's "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)." I can't remember who does that version, but it's on the Swing Kids soundtrack.

It's from the Forrest Gump score by Alan Silvestri.

Very entertaining. I had forgotten how many bad to mediocre films won best picture. Oliver? What were they thinking?

I was thinking the same thing - the 60's were actually just about spot on - except for Oliver winning over 2001...
