  • Check out Pie Eyed manc on my channel for another awesome idea for a funk play along!! If you like it please vote for it!

  • cool camera effects do not make the "muzak" your playing along to sound any better. just stick with the cool beats mate and show us how its done.

ps, i have been drinking therefore I probably come across as an ass, but still, thats just me.

  • grand tourismo 5!

  • not funky and too much jerkin' off

  • @Dazzer1234567 shut up

  • @Camilorv1 i bet you're real funky too, right? :)

  • @Dazzer1234567 im as funky as you can get

  • This is super clean. I love it.

  • So fucking cheesy! Love it.

  • is there no way to get that song without the metronome??

  • @ViralShadow127 ignore my last comment please.... found it

  • I remember last year for a talent show, i played this recording. I used many of Jared's techniques. it sounds great!

  • where can I download the drumless version ?

  • Please someone tell me what the hell that one thing was 1:25, someone send me a link to that fill or something like it because I can't really read music too awful well, I kill this song though so I guess I'm not doing to bad..HELP!

  • @theblastbeatman For me it sounds like paradiddles :S

  • I really need these questions answered cause i'm having real trouble, i got the whole beat and concept but my double rolls aren't just cutting, is the rolls or the doubles in the video even doubles? If not what would be the best way to practice like any exercise? And also is that heel toe bass kick? please i really want to play funk! D:

  • rape sauce.

  • very solid, but try doing a cover of one of "Tower of power" songs.

  • me gusta un chingo al minuto 0:42

  • FOR SUPER MEGADIDDLE POWER : 1:25

  • @fruticremascontilla I think that's a ghost note with snare accents and triplets..don't knowhwa tyou mean by megadiddle, what rudiment was that?

  • 2:30 was frikkin awesome :D

  • talent

  • is there any way i could get it without the metronome?

  • WHat a awsome way to keep it goin wit tha broken stick!!!!

  • july 2nd 1972, the day the funk died. how do you get your snare to sound so tight, cant get mine to virgin status : /

  • I love playing songs like this, it is real fun (althought I suck at playing them lol)

  • Can anyone tell me what crash he's got on the right side of his ride. I'm thinking maybe a 16" Zildjian K Fast crash?

  • please answer whats the name of this song!!?

  • @ahrims221 he is playing triplets as he goes around the set

  • @musicprodave lol what? not to be rude but i asked whats the name of the song lol

  • Thanks ;) now I see, it didn't occur to me that it's actually triplets that he's playing, I was misled by the combination of the bass drum and toms

  • @ahrims221 oops I was answering the other persons question...sorry

  • Wow. I'd appreciate it so much if anybody could tell me what's going on at 1:35. I see that he uses bass drum eight times within the whole fill. So I guess it's like four times -> two bass drum sixteenth notes and two tom sixteeneth notes or four tom sixteenth notes and two of them played at the same time as the bass drum.

Please help me, I need to play this fill :)))

  • Mmm. I like it. Some fills just made me love funk

  • Amazing

  • I need a place to get free music without drum tracks ( good music) HELP!!

  • is he using double bass ?

  • @TheDudeKylo look at the video.... no double pedal... you can get that double sound with the bounce of the pedal.

  • @swu1987 hehe, okay. Because it sounded like it at 2:25

  • i need to know what hi hat is that!!

  • barvooooo!! buenisimoooo :D

  • nice vid but that snare sounds like crap for funk! sounds too hollow

  • i like your polo^^

  • Very nice drumming but i think there's too many fills for a play along track. It confuses me when im doing a fill on top of another.

  • @NellyPhaz what u mean when your playing a fill on top of another fill, are u playing to this video? well if you are i think if u go to there web sit you can download the song without the drums in them im not for sure tho but i have found some on there web site for similar songs with out the drums in them.

  • Why do you switch the drum sticks from one hand to another in 1:53?

  • @stefans1991 he dropped one actually

  • @stefans1991 if you notice the drumstick is broken and he switches it so that he doesnt hit the hi-hat with the broken stick because the 8th notes wont sound crispy on the hat

  • @stefans1991 cos the right hand does more than his left so he useing the better stick for it that way it would sound little better even if he does something wrong bt he doesnt tat d beauty :D

  • @stefans1991 i think maybe he almost drop his drum sticks.

  • @stefans1991 Cuz it's cool? :D

  • @zgonnaparkiecie cuz it useless! that's not cool XD

  • @stefans1991 maybe he almost drop it.

  • @stefans1991 check the difference in sound of the ride cymbal between 1:40 and 2:40, that might have been the reason...

  • @stefans1991 sounds like the tip on his stick broke off. so he had to change sticks to get that nice ride sound

  • who the hell thumbs down this video... i actually got offended when i saw that just now...ridiculous

  • hey man

where can i get this track without drums?

    you play great

    much groove in here

  • wow!! dude you rock :D

  • nice great ... there you go

  • The playalong tracks do not work

  • @hazzathebest ......you dont work, so go away.

  • @Bbbalala what the hell

  • @hazzathebest lol :)

  • B-E-Autiful

  • really nice composition to whoever made it. I was hoping there wouldn't be some playing the drums along to it.

  • i'd say this is funk mixed with modern jazz. i love it!

  • is there the same playalong, but bassless, so a bass player can have fun with it? thanks

  • Jarred is awesome. Great teacher without even talking. He lets the drums talk. Just listen. I've learnt so much from doing so.

  • Yeah the kit is perfectly tuned and sounding great.

  • hey do u know where i can find play along tracks for drums!?

  • Your blessed by the gods of drumming. Kudos to you and thanks for the vids.

  • tthe kit is beautiful.. especially the crash <3

  • 1:36 and out .. sweet =)

  • Everytime i watch this video i love how Jared recovers from the flying stick at 1:54, i think every drummer who watchs this video should pay really good attention to that :P as sooner or later that happens to all of us.

  • @doyoublah didnt even notice him drop it the first time. did he just have another stick close to hand?

  • @richardblabla I believe he just happened to lose the grip on the stick and just re-grabbed the stick in time to continue playing.

  • @freedrumlessons how can i download it? you don't have any steps to follow?

  • where can i get background tracks like that

  • I WANT THE FUCKING RIDE

  • flowing over the drums like water, in the pocket, all that good sh*t

  • this is the best playalong of the site!

i love to play to this xD

  • You are, as mentioned earlier, a drummer of great authority and taste. Keep making your videos, they're really helpful :D

  • AWSOME !!! =)))) WOA SO CLEAN !!!!

  • dam you your heel toe method sick fast, is the pedal your using an iron cobra?

  • Tasty drumming! Man, I love when a drummer can groove and make a song not miss hearing any singing. Awesome!!!

  • 3:27 epic fail...:P

  • @drummeroulis93

    no fail there

  • @drummeroulis93 No fail there, i'll fucking kill you.

  • 1:25 Fail :D:D:D

  • @C94H pretty sure thats the coolest part of the vid

  • @C94H you fail noob

  • @C94H

if you dont know nothing about drumming, shut up and listen.

  • @dscarmo if you are a stupid motherfucker shut the fuck up and fuck your mommy!

  • @C94H how is that in anywaysfail, that was incredibly difficult :/

  • textbook drummer.

  • at 1:25 - 1:28 is that an offbeat?

  • Does anybody knows what type of hi-hats are being used? They sound great!

  • @swooish The hats are Zildjian K Dark Medium Brilliant finish.

  • lot of jazz here...

  • what's up!!! hey jared!! what is the name of that song??? aprecciate it man!!!

  • Loved it!!!

  • from where can i get the music?download,or buy it?

  • Paulaomichelazzo its pretty easy if you use the teqnique he use dont remember the name...

  • how can you do "to much" when your trying to show off which is the whole point..he's showing off funk drumming which in itself is like rythm guitar in rock and roll it REALLY makes a funk song and he sounded AWSOME don't hate on it

  • lol a little heavy dont you think? doesnt matter though still a great improv.

  • When does his stick break

  • Whats the time when hes stick brokes

  • hey thats really cool!

  • anyone notice his stick breaks in the middle?

  • a little to much "solo" especially at 3:18

still super cool track and i love the sound of your ride

  • 01:37 lick OMG!

using single kick... well done sir

  • very nice ;-)

  • edwin61 (man) I learn so much just looking at you playing with that groove,

  • Jeeze those toms. What great drum sounds

  • I played Can't Stop from Red Hot Chili Peppers along with this drum track, sounds awesome haha!

  • @Ucopz89

Very good u noticed that. Actually it's something that shouldn't happen if you have right grip so make your conclusions...

  • Amazing sounding drums! Money well spent...

  • just awesome. Those hi-hats... MMM SO CRISPY!!!

  • well spoken.. nothin' else to say

  • Блин сам играю но к сожалению у меня нет таких тарелок

  • Comment removed

  • Hmmm...i think u all should watch this video at the time 1:55...u will see something gonna happen there..ahaks...but he still awesome!!

  • @Ucopz89 i can't see anything

  • @Ucopz89

yeah its called the toe heel toe technique

you should learn into before you start making accusations =/

  • nice hihats

  • What A great Drummer Keep going Strong!

  • wonderful if someone is an influence to me is him

  • I love doing those double stroke rolls on the hi hat. So fun and awesome sounding.

  • DAM SWEET!!

  • He overdoes it alot, but I still think it sounds good =].

  • man this dude can groove!

  • The music is funk.

  • the music might be, but the drumming is not

  • It's like a rock playalong to a funky song =p.

  • Comment removed

  • barbaro che

  • does anyone know the first crash cymbal in front of him, i know its gotta be a zildjian since i see the K series logo on the other cymbals....

    thanks

  • Question is he using double bass sounds like?!!

  • Cooool, loves his job to. Well done.

  • i cant download the song. it just goes to a quicktime page

  • 1:24 what the hell!? :0

  • this guy obivously should stick to rock.

none of this even sounds funky...sounds like a weird cross between rock, and the shit they play on the smooth jazz station..

the point im trying to make, fusion on crack

  • Someone seriously explain what 1:25-1:28 was supposed to be...

  • No idea.. but I think it sounded hella awesome :D

  • All except what I said awesome...1:25-1:28 sounded like ear rape to me.

  • Agreed - sounded very Weckl-ish in the out-of-time-while-in-time groove. I dig that stuff, especially when just thrown in as fills (as in this song) and not encompassing the entire song.

  • @skillnub70 i thinks its a drum n bass beat? sounds good to me though. his exit was on time anyways

  • 1:25-1:28 is actually a pattern between the hi hat and snare, which is 16th note triplets with paradiddle sticking.

  • damn he got groove

  • a loooooooooooott of grooove!!!!!!!!! very intresting :) :D

  • Loved it! Nice job!

  • i thought a long time it is boring to play only simple things and simply 16th fills, but that the thing that sounds good at all... you are a good drummer if you sound good with the simple things

  • damn he's good =)

  • What Kind of ride is that? I have to know!!

  • dam he kill'd that

  • Nice

  • NIce. It's really basic, but I'm thinking that that's the point. It stays true to the funk rhythm, without going over the top. Nice and clean.

  • Some of them fills aren't simple :L

  • Agreed real solid through out, and he definately knew when to come in w/ a tasteful fill :) prolly my fav funk drummer right, now, but im a tech death drummer, so i dnt know much about funk, but im learning jazz and funk right now, to better incorporate into technical metal, i was in jazz band on drums for a year in h.s my sophmore yr ( 2 years ago) at the end of my first year drumming, but now i wanna learn more of EVERYTHING.

  • damn. Can anyone tell me what the sticking is for what he does at 1:25?

  • It's hard to tell...I think that's just a personal thing that he does. Every drummer is different. You can make up any sticking you want which why drumming is an art form.

  • This guy is freedrumlesson's best drunmmer. He has excellent taste and really plays some great sounding grooves.
