  • Try to keep your feet up don't use the heel on the pedals, for this kind of situation where you need to get low.

  • Wow, I'll give it to you, most people post video's with inaccurate titles, but this one wasn't. That was for sure close. Mad props for keeping it under control and forcing that bike through the turn, way to commit to it!! But I wouldn't try it again:)

  • Man them guardrails ore limb removers if you ever meet up with one, just saying, thats one of the most dangeous roads to practice or whatever your doing, if you do crash its probably gna end your life or at least your ability to ride a bike again, if thats the thrill you want man give it hell, but thats just mind boggling to risk it all like your doing, or maybe you just havent had the experience to know guardrails suck!!!!!

  • Should have known the road better before you started riding thinking you are a Moto GP racer...

  • Finally someone who uses Annotations to annotate something!

  • Too Fast of riding for that type of Road.

You are asking for death: Animal crossings, people pulling out of drive ways or blind roads.

Please slow down on that type of road, if you have on indecent with something in the road, your DEAD.

  • Zzzzzzzzzz

  • Balls for not pulling over and just cleaning out your underwear right then. You actually sat in that stuff for the rest of the video! Hurrah! What a man! I am thinking about picking one of these NT's up.

  • @ukfan4sure1 Haha thanks. If I were on my current Interceptor I don't think I would have made the corner. That Hawk cornered better than anything but at 6'4", it didn't fit me super well. I did love that bike.

  • you messed that entry up and ran out of apex, but you stayed with it and didn't freeze up. A brush with death, well maybe, more then likely a brush with bruises and broken parts. The entry is the important part, once you've entered the turn correctly the rest is easy. A distraction of just a split second and put you off line, no one is immune to a pucker now and then.

  • grandma

  • is this in portland oregon?

  • @tacostacos5 Downingtown, PA, outside of Philly.

  • you turned too early and chopped off the throttle :(

  • That'l pucker up your b hole. Ha ha I can't tell you how many times I have almost crashed mine. My blue 88 w a Muzzy was my first street bike and I'm still riding it like a race bike. It has almost 38k and I've done almost 18k. The thing is a smooth beast and can take punishment with a smile. If you got a hawk, you know. Never sell a hawk!

  • Looks like you are doing 50mph, you turn in too early ( missed the apex) on what sounds like a closed throttle, it seems it was a set-up? you must be a novice rider? good job you was not on a GSXR100 - R1 - Blade - ZX10...

  • @joec1153 Yep. This was back in the day when I recorded this vid. I ride a VFR800 Interceptor now. Never been to a track or taken a MSF course at the point this video was recorded either. I've now been to the track many times and aced the Advance Rider Course for the PA MSF. Good times.

  • Nice save and nice bike. I never knew the NT650 existed until I saw this.

  • @Zeggawong GREAT little bikes. I am 6'4" and it was comfortable, but I looked like a giraffe riding a tiny bicycle when I was on this lol.

  • Great camera angle! You ran wide because you turned into the corner too early mate. Your positioning is wrong in the corner but it all basically results from turning in too early. In the UK there is a book called Road Craft which is the police riders bible. Get a copy from amazon or something mate, it might save your life & improve your cornering. Seriously. Best of luck, keep it shiny-side-up!

  • Hell of a save!

  • LOL that was some serious lean angle! :D

Well done for dropping the bike down to make the corner rather than panic braking and going straight on!

  • bet you olmost poo your pants there

  • nice sound from your bike mate

  • Coordinates?

  • Bet you had a good rush of fear&adrenaline when almost crashing xD

Never crashed yet, but once my clutchcable snapped on the street.. great fun to drive to a workshop without it :s (this beeing on thai streets)

  • woooo. Nice save. You should check out the roads heading up to round valley north of flemington nj. great twisties.

  • Finally a decent camera and placement on a bike! :) great to watch :D i'm thinking of getting the 400 version of this bike for my first bike.

  • @DMoots Thanks! I'm a photographer so camera placement for me needs to be good, even for video's! I have a VFR800 Interceptor now. I sold this bike back in March.

  • @BadAssXJ Very nice :) my dad had a vfr 750, the 98 model and loved it, had to sell it but now he wants it back and wishes he never let it go! it's getting increasingly hard to find one in as good condition as the one he had. He's considering the 800 too, theyre a lovely bike, but i think he just prefers the 750 design ever so slightly hehe. The search for my first bike continues!

  • I'm well aware. This was back when I didn't have any track experience.

  • You seriously dodged a bullet on this one.

Your first clue should have been the great big warning painted on the road. Second, you apexed too early for this particular double apex, decreasing radius turn, and had already set a steep lean angle.

    Poor riding technique.

  • Very nice ride. My first bike was Honda Hawk. Nothing like near brush with a guardrail to stimulate the morning. By the way, your camera work is very steady and clear. What did you use? Regards.

  • @1gortklaatu Thanks. Sold it and have a VFR800 Interceptor now. The Camera is the non-HD version of the Go-Pro Hero Cam. I now run the HD verison.

  • he says he nearly crashed...on the video he drives on with the same speed or faster. i really dont understand.........

  • @civicaerodeck14 You're correct. I nearly crashed because of a misjudged turn. So why would I slow down further into the ride? If you notice there were no more sharp turns...

  • @civicaerodeck14 If you brake in that situation you can't turn, or you fall off... it's best to control the throttle and hope you don't hit anything. I bet he puckered up pretty bad lol. I've done this before, went into a corner at completely wrong line and tool late to brake uphill, nearly went up the curb really sh*t me up. :)

  • that will teach ya too slow down, u could have died

  • dont worry they got racks stacked up at the hospitals with titanium rods..

  • Been a firefighter and run EMS for 10 years. I'm well aware.

  • wat does fighting fires have to do with riding a bike? anyways good onya

  • I ran EMS (Ambulance) as well. Seeing the aftermath of fatal and non-fatal motorcycle wrecks for 10 years. I know the dangers. And all about things stocked in hospitals.

  • kudos or not panicing and grabbing the brakes, when i was a new rider i came into a corner to fast once and had a stupid moment. grabbed brakes and lowsided slide into a ditch at 3 am with not a soul around lol. ive seen better days

  • whis is the lesson :) never ever speed on the unknown roads :)

  • Fair play for not just grabbing a fistfull of the brakes!

  • wHAT A FUCK?

  • Sh!t me mate that was close but i have to ask how and why did you carry on so fast?? i would of had to slow down or stop for a min and allow my arse hole to stop twitching like a rabbits nose lol

  • Wow dude, looks like you missed that guardrail by inches. Regarding unfamiliar roads, I've found that riding with a GPS really helps. It allows you to see turns way before you're on them.

  • Picked a bad line...? Never been on this road before...?

You're obviously riding too fast for your abilities...wanna play racer?...rent some track time before you kill yourself or some innocent. You're no 'bad-ass'...you're an accident waiting to happen.

  • Looks like you're the one who thinks they're a bad ass. I ride at the track, quite often. One of the newest tracks in the US is 1.5 hours from me.

  • just because u ride on a track and even if ur proffesional, doesnt mean u should fly on the road, it only takes some fucked driver 2 pull out or anything, 1 split second is all it takes, ur gona die the way ur going

  • It is what it is. I was NOT going as fast as it seems. I was within that "10 MPH grace zone" of the speed limit. I agree, it only takes 1 driver to kill you, but that's the life of anyone on the road. I intend to enjoy life while I have the opportunity and not be scared that something will happen. Fighting fires for 10 years was more dangerous than anything I've ever done and prob will ever do on my bike.

  • The sun is really buggin'at 2:44 -2:49 min. ..but what a great road to ride!

  • Shit son.. Scary moment. Sometimes it is hard to predict how the road's gonna be. Take care out there.

  • nice video

  • Glad you are okay but this is a public road. Take that shit to a track if you want to scrape pegs. Not only could you have died you may have killed an innocent too!

  • I do go to the track. Look at my other video's. I was not speeding, I just picked a bad line. I had never been on this road before and had no idea the turn was a decreasing radius 'til it was too late as you see.

  • thats why you never do that on a road you aren't familiar with

  • Never do what? Ride a motorcycle on the road? Again, I wasn't speeding, I slowed for what would've been a normal corner and realized it was a decreasing radius. It happens.

  • It looked like you were driving a little aggressive to me. Weren't there any signs???

  • Just the typical "Slow - Left Turn" signs that are all over this area. The problem with those is that they're typically on curves that are not sharp at all. I usually judge the corner ahead of time by the "Suggested Corner Speed" signs which are those yellow ones. 20 MPH or less suggested usually means are very sharp curve. This one had no suggested speed :(

  • You make me want to play some Road Rash.

  • In fact u just fucked up mate

  • Oh man! nice nice.

  • What a nice sounding bike. I had an SV650, it was great, but didn't sound nearly as nice as this

  • Whew scary one. Thats crazy the wheel came up like that it doesnt look like that steep of a hill..?

  • It wasn't really a steep hill, it just goes up and drops real quick. Got me by surprise the first time by. I kind of expected it on my return trip which I posted a video of as well.

  • DAMN man, that was a close one!

  • git some rear sets to move your feet higher. you can get way more corner speed with more ground clearence.

  • Already have a post on the Hawk forum looking for a set. Trying to get them before my track day on the 6th of July!

  • very close!!

Nice road and nice bike too!

  • The road is amazing as long as it hasn't rained recently and moved gravel into the lanes of travel. Thanks about the bike as well :)

  • Nice road!

  • Watch it, slick!

  • might have to change the underwear after that one!

  • Wow, I don't think you could have gotten closer. You were the luckiest SOB that day lol.

  • Tell me about it. My knee basically brushed the guardrail....

  • I know, this is R22B from TST ;)
