I've watched the footages apparently captured by some European mountain climbers from a good distance, and this is what I've observed:

a) there appeared to be about 15-20 Tibetans walking over a wide open mountain pass

b) the sound of 2-3 shots rang out, and 2-3 of those apparently Tibetans fell where they were walking over

g) the camera zooms in on what's described as the Chinese border guard's camp, and the narration describes the "Chinese guards are very relaxed"

If anything, the Chinese came into Tibet and freed the people. I know from my own experience from living in China, that Tibetans retain their cultural identity, much more so than Native Americans, but that on if those Tibetans choose to live in such fashion. I know certain ethnic groups such as Mongols, and Tibetans as well, have the privilege of carrying around a knife as it's their custom to do so (so called han Chinese my have stopped that practice centuries ago). I've been there & was in Dharamsala in Feb. I've seen what China has done to Tibetans and their culture. I've met the Dalai Lama and he's the kindest entity. I've studied China's past 125yr history. CNN and BBC are not state-controlled media networks. I agree sometimes they're slanted in opinions but they're independent media & not subjected to censorship like China media. First of all, how do you know that chinese goverenment are lying to us? what kinda of evidence if any do you have? where it goes the same way to me, i cannnot prove that the cnn news are lying either, but, what i do know is several european news channels have ALREADY apologized to chinese governemnt for using a potoshoped pictures on reporting the Tibet riots. with enough being said, the cnn used the same photoshoped pictures when reporting.
