@sandrodream1 There are many good riders in the tour that do also finish very well in the giro. Examples are Contador, Basso or Menchov. I'm going to repeat myself but the Tour de France is the only tour where all great riders take part in. And its the only tour where all riders try to give their best performance!

Winning the giro or the vuelta is something great but winning the Tour is something different

@sandrodream1 The tour de France ist the highlights of the year. It's the only Tour hat all all the great riders try to win. This year Contador destroyed everybody else when he won the giro. Nibali and Scarponi had no chance at all. To win last years TdF he had to give everything and was very lucky.

Maybe the tour the France isn't much harder then the giro, but the opponents are!

Therefor winning the tour means everything!

Lance armstrong to come back in 2010 at the age of 38 almost 39 and get 3rd or was it 4th place with his team placed first I think was absolutely massive and proved that he took no drugs. He destroyed all the young guys after all these years and am sure he was tested very well again. He is the most tested athlete in the tour de france for sure. Total legend.

To al the people who think he's clean: he wasn't, that's for sure.

To al the rest: All the rest weren't clean either.

In that time, they all took doping, so for me that means you can look at this results in the right way, 90% took some kind of doping.

And to the people who don't believe this: Edwig Van Hooydonck won the Tour of Flanders twice, but when EPO was introduced, suddenly he couldn't follow any of those riders. He stopped his career early because he didn't want to take doping.

Lance Amstrong officialy tested positive to PED (at least) once, but that was covered up by an antidated prescription (I'm not talking about the unofficial EPO tests).

He did dope. So was 50, 70 , 90 percent of the peloton ?
