If lions always ate your groceries (as they do with the African civilians that live off the land), and you were starving, wouldn't you poison them to? I think so.
I can safely say my family will be free from lion attacks... They may get shot, run over or die from artery-clogging fried foods, but I'll not be protesting fried chicken any time soon.
Lions can be kept away from herds without poison. The poison is just a cheap, quick solution. The African tourism industry will likely deal with this.
Not if you rely on cows as your source of food and income. Then you'll be poisoning every single lion that came onto your farm. Think about the people who are trying to survive. It's not "cool" when a lion can kill you.
Why don't they just construct a big fence around the cattle to protect them from lions?
