I use sony vegas 9 platinum, but if you don't want to spent around $80 on software, windows movie maker is great for beginners too :)

thank you. i have windows movie maker , i know its an old version but im not sure which one it is. and can u import video directly from a movie? (say you put a dvd into the pc and it will recognise it in video documents, then u can clik import video and it will put it in the movie?) sorry i no nothing whatsoever about windows movie maker. I am only 14 lol xx

haha, no worries, I'm sure you'll be amazing in time! :) unfortunately however, it's not quite that simple -- in order to get the file from the dvd to the pc (or I recommend flash drives), you need to install dvd ripping software (it's free) -- I'd recommend Magic DVD Ripper
