Here is a tip. CALIBRATE all your instruments. There are different setups for Plasma, LCD, Regualr, HDTV, Projector TV, etc. Changing this made all the difference for my Rock Band.

wrap the ends of the drum sticks with the bubble wrap it came with and tape around it. it really muffles out the popping sounds of hitting the drums.
