i am a bit bothered that cage was killed, but then again, i never did care to play as him in any of the games. really, he was there for comic releif.

Well there isn't gonna be anything going on with the 3rd MK movie but I do know for sure they're sticking with the title, Mortal Kombat: Devastation. Im unclear on what the story is goin to be about cuz I believe it's been changed cuz they want to be careful that it doesn't end up the way Annihilation did. So everything is being revamped from a new movie studio. Christopher Lambert, Raiden from MK 1, will definitely be back for 3. That's all I know for now.... (MKII Fatality theme)

Romour has it that they have already picked the role of who will play Rayden

No it's not. Johnny Cage is not a big enough (or good enough) character for a Mortal Kombat to revolve around him. Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Sub Zero are the lead good guys.

Uh, no Jade is not a big character. Jax and Sonya are supporting characters who are not interesting enough for a Mortal Kombat lead role. Kitana was mainly a love interest for Liu Kang, but her role as general of Edenia breaking away from Outworld has a possibility. But that storyline focuses on no other characters. As for Raiden, a film about a god would be too awkward to pull off.
