  • The Yankees and their fans deserve prison time for their crimes against humanity.

  • Yeah hes really terrible, look at him now. Hes taken over for Beckett in his injury stint and he is pitching extremely well. Way to jump to conclusions there.

  • Buchholz has been good, but his success has been kind of fluky. His FIP (which is ERA based on things a pitcher has control over (HRs allowed, walks, strikeouts, GB and FB percentages) is around 3.49, about a run higher than his ERA. His GB% is great, but he's still walking a lot of batters and isn't striking a lot of guys out (which is very disappointing coming from him).

  • i was at this game =]

  • ok seriously im a yankees fan and im not hating, i respect his no hitter because you cant get lucky with 27 straight batters come on everyone should praise a rookie pitcher throwin a no hitter on his second start

  • So many Haters, so little No hitters.. Wah wah wah,, There are So many Hall of fame pitchers that have never done what this kid did, Congrats Clay

  • And then he got sent back down to the minors the next day

  • Oh yes, I'm sure that throwing a NO HITTER in the major leagues requires nothing but luck.

  • Luck and a shitty team to play. yeah

  • @Hounsfield Fuck you. When's the last time you guys threw no no!? We had Lester AND Buccholz throw them!!! We won World Series that year as well! With our fucking prospects. Unlike other fucking teams like Yankees have to buy their guys to win it. We could fucking go out and buy guys too, but we do it fucking hard way. AND STILL WON IT

  • Was there a chick giving birth in that section during all of this?....

  • no she was thinking about when the red sox raped her.

  • If Smoltz sucks it up, the Sox should call him up.

  • wow i was like only a few sections away from you when this happened.

  • The Red Sox have told the Rangers they're not parting with Clay Buchholz in any deal for a catcher, according to MLB.coms T.R. Sullivan.

That the Rangers have apparently lost out to Boston in the chase for Junichi Tazawa has led to some optimism that it will be easier for them to pry away some of the clubs young pitching in a trade. However Buchholz seems to be off limits. If the Red Sox want Jarrod Saltalamachia theyll likely have to offer more than either Justin Masterson or Michael Bowden

  • clay bucholz sucks he threw one good game and thats it

  • he has great pitches. it's just that he has lost his confidence. ortiz on the other hand, I think is done.

  • Not really Papi's getting back on track, but I do agree with u that Buchholz just lost his confidence.

  • wow your a dousche bag... he threw a no hitter in the MLB.. yeah he really sucks... you probably cant even throw a baseball

  • I was gona get on here to post the same damn thing, cant agree with you more.

  • hes young man give him time.

  • he needs to develope in aaa

  • those fans went drunk after that last pitch!

    lol

  • you can't seriously be saying he pronounces his own name wrong. different people say things differently, same goes for names. he says it how he says it and that's what the rest of us go by.

  • for the record, ESPN pronounces wrong. its pronounced 'byoo-holts', not 'buck-holts'. i dont know much about him, but if he pronounced it 'buck-holts', then hes pronouncing his own name wrong. it is a german name and is pronounced "byoo-holts", again NOT 'boo-holts' and not 'buck-holts'

  • there he goes again vs the orioles

  • The Red Sox have announced that Clay Buccholz will remain in the team's starting rotation.

Buchholz will be replaced on Friday by Paul Byrd, but he'll make a start two days later. Thanks to Charlie Zink's terrible outing, Buchholz keeps his job despite being 0-5 and without a quality start in his last six outings. Still, he might be booted once Tim Wakefield returns.

  • now he cant hardly get a win

  • i know right. He goes from no-hitter status to like 12 hitter status. Pisses me off. He should stay back in Pawtucket

  • give him some credit boys he has a lot to learn

  • and dont expect colon back any time soon... i saw him pitch last night cause he came andd pitched against the yankees farm team which is where i live.. he let up 2 homeruns to like guys that had 1 homerun the whole year we need more pitching

  • im a sox fan but they need to get him the hell out of boston.... hes fucking terrible this was like the only good part of his career so far.. he cant pitch for more than 2 innings. this was actually just a fluke in my eyes he got lucky

  • i agree with that. at the beginning of the season I said that he wasn't going to be as good as everyone thinks, and people hated me for it. i was right. we should have traded him, but now that his value has gone down we need to just send him back to AAA. The no-hitter was sweet though.

  • @husky2012 Still think this is true pal?

  • @husky2012 i'm glad they kept him

  • @bluedevil4354 9-4 with an era of 2.67. yea, they really dont need to get rid of him.

  • @bluedevil4354 how do u feel about what u said 2 years ago!!! 16-7 2.38 era

  • @bluedevil4354 this comment looks pretty stupid after this season lol

  • its just a beautiful thing...

  • you went to that game cool that rocks

  • clay is from the netherlands

  • i'm an orioles fan but i have to give the red sox credit for actually home-growing a bit of talent for once...instead of buying it like they usually do.

  • yeah, except for papelbon, and youk, and pedroia, and lester, and delcarmen, and jacoby, and trot nixon from a few years back, and not to mention that some of their biggest names over the last few championships like ortiz, lowe, varitek, wake, were all aquired when they were unknowns really, they have the $, but "buying it like they usually do" sure bud

  • There was a time when the Yanks and O's were the top two teams in the AL East and the Sox were a joke...but now that you have the money, you're in the sweepstakes for every big name free agent out there. To name two from recent history: Johan and A-rod, you can't deny it.

  • Apm you're an idiot. The Orioles have plenty of money but it comes down to how your management uses it. You guys never grew Alomar, Davis, Brady Anderson, Tejada more recently...your criticism is misguided.

  • The Orioles are a large market team with a big pool of money that is, in large part, due to having a park like Camden Yards. The Red Sox only have the 4th highest payroll in baseball right now and most of their talent comes from there farm system, not money. Lester, Buchholz, Ellsbury, Pedroia, Youkilis, Delcarmen, and Papelbon. You can even count Lowell and Beckett who were traded for by using a player that they drafted named Hanley Ramirez. The only big free agent in the last 2 years is Drew.

  • Angelos wont even put our proud city's name on our away jerseys, let alone do anything for the betterment of the franchise. people seem to forget that the RED SOX sucked for 80 some years, and we won 3 championships in the time that you took to win one. as far as I'm concerned, you're just catching up. and don't use the "curse of the bambino" as an excuse either. everyone knows he was born in BALTIMORE and if he had any allegiance, the best player in baseball history would have been on our team.

  • What the hell are you talking about? I don't believe in any any stupid curse. 86' was because Mcnamara wanted to help out a veteran with a final out in the series instead of putting a younger guy with a better glove in. &5 was shitty clutch pitching and 46' was because Zimmer, in the most underrated dumb move in history, switch out Dimmagio so he wasn't there in the 9th when Slaughter hit that double. If as far as your concered "we are still catching up" thats great but you fail to realize...

  • ...that you are making an excuse. "the curse of the Bambino" is just as bad as "We still have more WS". The fact is that Yankees fans and Red Sox haters, in using that excuse, become just as bad as the people they dislike. One excuse is the same as another and it only furthers the turmoil that the Yanks are in right now. Believe me, I know. The sooner you get off using excuses to divert from the truth, which is that the Sox are the best in MLB, the sooner you'll team might actually get better.

  • I'm not saying that the sox aren't the best in the mlb right now because they obviously are...but I am so tired of every big name free agent being a bidding war between the Yankees and Red Sox...A-Rod, Daisuke, Santana most recently...There should, hands down, be a salary cap in baseball..then we'll see who is the best team, not who has the most money to buy their team...compare the highest payrolls to who performs well, notice the correlation (2007): Yanks, Sox, Mets, White Sox, Angles, Dodgers

  • You may not have been but you were saying "they still sucked for 80 years". Who cares? It's whos good now. Also, gimme a break man. The correlation between money and wins is vastly over rated. Granted the sox do spend a great deal and the 04' win was a free agent team but 07' was home grown team. Just look at the teams you listed. The Mets and Yankees stink, the White Sox lead their Div. but are only 4 games above 500 and Dodgers are only above 500 because of players they drafted...

  • ...I do agree with you that there must be some kind of cap or higher luxury tax but a lot of the teams that spend money don't know how to spend it and the teams that don't have it learn to work with what they have and they are better because of it. The Twins, the A's, The D-Backs, The Rockies, The Brewers, The Rays, and the Marlins are all great examples. The only reason the Sox won is because they followed the business model of what to do when you don't have money to spend.

  • "and if he had any allegiance, the best player in baseball history would have been on our team."

Yes because a player can just pick and choose where he wants to play at anytime. Besides, during Ruth's career, the Orioles weren't even a major league franchise, they were Triple-A up until 1954, long after Ruth had died. That and there were no free agents then, he couldn't choose unless he was traded and offered the call. So stop talking out of your ass you fairweather fan.

  • Fairweather fan? I've always been an Orioles fan and I'm not even old enough to have seen them win a championship. Boston fans are arrogant assholes who will basically think they invented baseball...yet they forget that they didn't win a damn thing for EIGHTY YEARS. Most Red Sox fans are bandwagon and to say that you grow your own talent is stupid as well...When you won the World series for the first time in EIGHTY YEARS in 2004, you had the second highest payroll to the yankees. Explain that

  • They do grow their own talent. But not 100%. But players such as Pedroia, Varitek, Buchholz, Lester, Youkilis, Ellsbury, Papelbon all came from the Red Sox farm system and all have given some very decent performances. And not all Red Sox fans are on the bandwagon, please don't make ludicris claims, it doesn't make you seem smarter or anything. And Boston didn't invent baseball, but they did pretty much form the American League. The fact you didn't acknowledge my Ruth stuff makes me wonder btw.

  • you guys are weird

  • at least the sox don't get sued for sexual harrasment of a homosexual.

    paul priore anyone?

  • MY LAST NAME IS BUCHHOLZ TOO!!! even check

  • buchholz is going to be awesome.

spring training in 9 days!!!!! im pumped

  • Clay Buchholtz is awesome.

  • yankees are cocky arrogant assholes.................everything thats wrong with baseball that i absolutely hate. im not saying im a redsox's fan but im a fan of any team playing the yankee's

  • Haha and the Red Sox are different? Both are cocky arrogant assholes. Both have the highest payrolls by huge margins, not like $10 million more than #3. Both are located in the same part of the country. Both are hated by every other baseball fan.

  • Freepablo, the Red Sox now have the 4th highest payroll. Why don't you learn something and then come back

  • If they're both hated by every other baseball fan, then why is it that Sox and Yankee games, even on the road, can create sellout crowds? And is that also why Red Sox and Yankee apparel are the two best-selling teams? (or at least two of...I don't have exact information)

  • The Red Sox only have the 4th highest payroll in Baseball due to much of their players coming from their own farm system. Get your facts straight. The Yankees, Mets, and Tigers are all ahead of them.

  • I hate how Yankee fans think Joba is awsome when he pitched for 1/2 MONTH ONLY!!!!!!!!!!

  • To be fair, Clay didn't pitch that much either. However Clay did have the no-hitter. And Joba had to have his own special "Joba Rules"

  • When I saw this happened, I practicaly knew that the Red Sox were going to win the world series.

  • im a yankee fan and i got to admit this kids great nut he aint no joba srry sox

  • has joba thrown a no-hitter? didn't think so. by the way...how's he doing with those bugs?

  • has this guy struck out a yankee dont think so joba has big papi strikie outy

  • Did he even get a chance to play the Yankees? Don't think so. Our pitching staff was already strong enough that we didn't need him. And ONE strikeout--OOOOH I'M SCARED NOW!!!!

  • wow hatig is ur job-a huh lol thats a good one

  • you're the one that brought the Sox/Yankees debate in.

  • If Curt Schilling hadn't gone down Clay would have been in the Minors. That's how good our pitching is. Joba is a great prospect, but they are both equal and are usually ranked atleast 1 spot away from each other in most prospect rankings. Though the Red Sox have a much better farm system than the Yankees.

  • I pitched a no-hitter in a video game 2 weeks ago and believe me..... it was crazee

  • nice seats, great game, young kid..........i wanna be u

  • i was there! my first game ever! im 12 and its amazin to think about

  • fucking awesome andy.

  • Sweet! That screaming girl is irratating tho. lol

  • thanks for this. Moments like this are why baseball and sports are great.

  • Go Sox

  • I can't actually take credit for filming this. Someone I was with actually did it (she was in the seat next to me), but couldn't load it through her computer for some reason, so I put it up.

  • Nice job!

  • that guy infront of you had a big head....teehee. That game was awsome!!! ur so lucky!!! i got to see his Debut!

  • WOW nice job getting it posted so quickly ! must have been awesome to be there !

  • It was insane....my first time to a Sox (or any MLB) game, and we didn't even get in until after the second inning because we had to wait in line for gameday tickets.

  • Wow, congrats.
