a fish will never ever stop being bigger. will always put on weight. its not like any other animal that has like 20-30 years living. as long at there are food, a pike will only be bigger and older.
...Continued: chances are he wouldn't have landed it. Sorry mate, don't want to take it away from you, yes you did catch a monster Pike but not a wild one. Not the same in my book. The first guy that caught it & discovered it's size, ok a bit of credence there, but to someone who goes after the same fish in the same pond. It was only a numbers game as to who was going to catch it next.
Part 1: I agree with The20pike. Quote: "each to their own but this is everything i dislike about our sport, pike from trout waters that have bellies like carp getting hammered for the fame. I heard the fish was dead now as well". Absolutely. This is a man made water, the Pike has been put in there to grow & it's not a natural situation to me it's like fishing in a goldfish bowl. If that was in Loch Lomond or the Wye for example it's body would be like a torpedo and not a rugby ball & .Cont'd
Pike are naturally occuring animals in a lot of waters. There's no point killing every pike you come across to save the brook trout - anyone who knows brookies knows they will overpopulate like crazy if you give them even half a chance.
@The32694 Alot of small pikes in a water is not good in length as they eat everything they come across, taking plankton, insects and spawns. A water with a few bigger pikes will become great in length as they will hold down their own population, allowing other species to grow. And a big fish is smart enough to take the weak individuals first as they are easier to catch.

keep smoking those cigars mate and you might not live long enough to celebrate. You shouldn't promote smoking on any form of media boys as kids watch this stuff.
Europe does not have the fishing pressure the USA does. Plus if you fish the northern GermanCoast or Swedish coast, these pike run brackish waters!!! More food!!
