I remember one Bergerac episode from around 1989 with a gang of young women called "The Rat Pack" or something like that. Didn't they speed past someone's house a throw a brick at the window?
I saw the episode of bergerac today entitled "A Hollow Man" (My most favourite episode) it had very slightly different titles in that it featured (Starring) only John Nettles, Sean Arnold and 1 other character (As they were the only main characters who appeared in that particular episode)
As a "Jersey Bean" I can safely say that Jersey isn't always like this.
While Jersey was better in this era and I wish I was around for that time, I can tell you now that we dont have the french theme in Jersey..... alot of it today is Finance and imigration... Jersey has lost the charm that it has in Bergerac =(
Anyone who has any questions about Jersey, I'd be more than happy to answer them =)
IMO, a complete screw up of the original theme. Because it was Jersey, there were French overtones in the original theme, that are completely lost here. Boo..!
You could be thinking of an episode of the comedy series 'The Detectives', in which Bergerac (with a beard) guest starred, along with one or two other characters from 'Bergerac'.
Particularly as the shows "police HQ" was the very same building, after it was disused it was used in this series. It even appears in the closing titles.
I saw Leela there :)

At least the murder rate in Jersey wasn't as high for John Nettles, as it is in Midsomer

must be terrible,
i would've thought with all the deaths in Midsomer the village would be empty by now
