  • To bad there is not a recording of this cadence with the way it was first written. Much more manly than the wimp-ass 5 stroke rolls in the beginning.

  • that is a sexy tenor part and the snares sound was just awesome

  • That was orgasmic

  • That very begging snare/ bass duet just made my day! Haha lick of the month material right there!

  • i like the tilt they have on their snares

  • 0:55 is pretty cool

  • God thats a tasty tenor part

  • Ive been trying to learn the quint part for about a week...it has one gock, and when I play it....it doesnt sound anything close to what THEYRE playing it D:

  • Best cadence ever is dick by the blue devils

  • I love the sound of those snares! =)

  • @dylstick3 Yeah, this is probably my favorite version of Electric Wheelchair...

  • Clearly that was meant for TheLogan1156. I think tryptophan is starting to work it's magic. Have a happy thanksgiving!

  • @TheLogan1165 ok what does "top" snares mean exactly. Cause I just purchased a new pearl championship snare and would love to get it sounding great or almost like this.

  • tight snare heads + taped guts = gun shot

  • Doesn't really matter how the snare sounds because scv are a bunch of badasses released from the 7th circle of hell

  • the ditty aint got nothin on this

  • try to keep time while watching this...holy shit. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??

  • Comment removed

  • somebodys been out in the sun... :p

  • i think they have scotties on

  • how did they get those snares to sound like that?? i love that sound

  • @ajcf1995 They probably have top snares on those drums.

  • will someone send me the link to where i can buy this please it would be greatly appreciayed

  • @hardyman691

    Google Tapspace Electric Wheelchair

    Rock on

  • Are those snares 12" or just tuned that way? I think they sound pretty goos that way!

  • what time signature is s=this

  • @hardyman691 4/4

  • play this and fade away by breaking benjamin at the same time. BEAST COMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This has great video quality for something shot in 2002...

  • Can anyone please tell me (or just write it out) how to play that opening snare lick? I have a copy of Electric Wheelchair, but it is a little different. Drum lines change intros all the time anyway, too. But the point is that I can't figure out exactly how to play that (mostly I mean the measure just before all the snares join in) and would love to find out, because it sounds BA. Thanks =)

  • PLEASE don't show the bass drums why would you even THINK of doing that.

  • thats wassup

  • i just wrote a cadence and subconsiously used like have of this -.- simplifiesd of course

  • i can watch this over and over for an hour

  • @ajcf1995 They never sounded like that in real life. For the record, I believe the snares were using Black Maxes with FaLam II's.

  • @ajcf1995 Remo Black Max Kevlar...mind you this was back in 2002. Kevlar isn't that popular anymore. When i Marched Cadets in '02 we used the same heads just in white.

  • how in the world do you get the heads that high? even with precise tuning, my head always goes shot any time im even HALF of that tuning!! i really like those though, those heads sound thin and crisp.

  • i like the sound, but it makes it sound like they feathertap the drum

  • The snares sound way better farther away. While they might not have the greatest tuning in the lot, I'll bet they sounded great in the stands and projected really well as hyper soprano voices (if you were there, by all means, feel free to contradict!)

  • like if u just saw gilbert1027's comment here /watch?v=Ln6b_nBM-V8

  • 0:55 AHHH!! <3

  • God, that fourth measure is so freaking cool.

  • C'mon guys, its the recording. It's all treble and no bass at all. Just listen to the bass drums. The whole recording sounds tinny.

  • The snares sound like someone is playing on tile.

  • I think the way the snares sound fits Electric Wheelchair. It gives off that really BADASS vibe...

  • @IKlLLu The accents sound like the crackling of electricity XD

  • The drums sound like balls...

  • Can someone explain to me the snare intro lick? It's too fast for me to catch what they're doing, and I can't find the sheet music for '02 anywhere. Thanks.

  • Thumbs up if you can play along the whole way through :)

  • Crazy Army!

  • I kinda like the way the snares sounded

  • ooohh okay, and yes he is

  • How many of you think these actually sounded like that in real life? If there's one thing I know about videos of any drumline is that they don't accurately portray how they really sound.

Go look at the Blue Devils 2002 video, the snares sound extremely similar. I'd pay money to bet they were recorded with the exact same camera.

  • @ARZiehm Even if that is true the CRANKED those drums that year.

  • 0:52 they sound like egg beaters, but there doubles wtf

  • 1:03 can you SAY!!! SWEET!

  • @gwimpey1-grooviest tenor skank groovee eva!

  • 11 people don't like titties in their face.

  • Those snares sound 'electric'

  • bad ass haha

  • screw lomac011

11 people have manual wheelchairs LOL

  • WTF 1:08

  • i gotta say i like these snare sounds better than they sound now

  • the should make a remix called manual wheelchair were its all singled

  • 10 people need to come out from under their rock.

  • @SnareKing111 Get Murray Gusseck's music called Parking Lot Etudes. I believe it has the full score

  • So damn clean!

  • Can anybody transcribe that intro solo that the two middle snares play. PLEASEEEEEE!!!!

  • @jacobisreallycool It's the opening lick for "The Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor" from the Blue Devil's 1976 DCI show. As for music, it sounds really easy

  • i didnt know lugi played the drums.

  • Bases get almost no love AT ALL!

  • @GP3PocketSnare you mean basses right?

  • @hobes9 LOL, so i miss one "s"..... I'm pretty sure you'll still recognize the word in a glance...

  • @GP3PocketSnare i almost died from confusion lol

  • @hobes9 LOL, one "s" is enough to get people confused nowadays?

  • apparently, in '02 - SCV only had one bass. but he played all five parts. ;)

  • these snares sound like shit

  • @monsterz4269 That's a funny joke...

  • thanks. BTW can u send me this sheet music. please respond

  • snares sound like aluminum card tables

  • Comment removed

  • why do their rims look so low

  • @drumpredator1 its how the heads get put on. The rim will be low if they put on and cranked tight the top head before the bottom head was put on and tightened. to get a good balance of rim on both sides of the drum (what i do) you put both heads on lose then tighten back and fourth untill desired level

  • Those snares sound horrible...

  • I've never been a fan of pearl drums

  • @johnrayy agreed. dynasty is my personal fave for marching drums

  • Oh hey, it's the entire cast from The Sandlot.

  • so dry!!

  • i have never seen so many indians in one drumline.

  • @tenordrummerrrr or people just so tan from the corps season duhhh

  • @tenordrummerrrr It's called band camp tan. Or in this case, hundreds of hours of marching and playing in the hot sun.

  • @DrmrGuy1979

Our drumline tried tracking to it. Didn't end well. Had to end up doing a changestep after the first few bars

  • anyone know if there's sheet music available online for this?

  • @fuzzer4ever Check tapspace.com. Might find it there.

  • rule number one of drumming: "Thou Shalt not SMILE!!" lol

  • I think I just came

  • anyone else this would be like hell to march to?

  • @oniperson

    Not really. It's 120 bpm...

  • @VMFA115Starloric

with hemiola's and over-the-bar-line licks out the butt....

  • @oniperson

    The Ditty's harder to march.

  • I hear alot of background bass-drum playing, and it sounds sloppy, especially when the snare and tenors arent playing. Is that intentional?

  • i wonder if those tenors are dynastys

  • @TheAsianWierdo they're pearl champions I believe.-Ian

  • those pearl drums have got to be heavy

  • @megabandman321 I own a Competitor HT, one of the newer ones, and its still heavy as hell.

  • @drumpopper97 i could imagine, we use yamahas now, we used to use pearls and from what i hear it sucked especially for the basses

  • I love the skank feature! :D haha.

  • ive got the score...

  • @JakobsMovieTutorials Steve Gadd is the "inventor" of that groove hence the resemblence

  • crazy army

  • @jsk8drummer ...yes but they also have a thinng called the santa clara vanguard cadets

  • i would love to march this drumline...is this cadets or reg

  • @wilc916 this is santa clara vanguard lmao

  • does anybody know what they are doing at the part where it's suppose to be flam a diddles then flam taps?

  • Does anybody have the sheet music to the snares / tenors / basses ? I really would have my drumline play this piece ?

  • @BateristadeTucson17 i got the snare music

  • @TheDrewdrums2 do you think you could send it to me ? if you want my email just send me a message

  • @TheDrewdrums2 Could you send me the snare music as well please? If your willing please respond.

  • That bass split at 0:33 gives me chills

  • Hey does anyone know who the center quad guy is? Is it possibly Brian Perez?

  • @ilopez235 yes

  • Lol this cadence makes no sense but it's stinking AWESOME!!

  • they sound so good and they look like they are barely trying.

  • Best version of Electric Wheelchair IMO.

  • do they have double shots on the tenors?

  • maybe its the quality of the sound, but at the beginning, the snares sounded like they were playing on a table. But as it progressed it sounded better.

  • Snares sound funny. Less of a popcorn like sound, more like a snapping sound. Interesting.

  • 0:54 to 1:04 those are some sexy sounding skanks...

  • not even a mr clean magic eraser can get that any cleaner

  • @samg701 The Cadets could've. Just sayin'. Although this is very fun to listen to. I just dislike the cranked snares.

  • @MBlood08 Agreed.. cranked like crazy

  • sounds like crazy army a lil in the beginning

  • 9 people have manual wheelchairs

  • @lomac011 Assuming from what you say, besides 300,000 people, 463 people must have high-tech wheelchairs.

  • @lomac011 lmfao thats good

  • Their snares sound like really high pitched for some reason.

  • :56 to 1:05, band day beat?

  • why do the snares sound like the snares on the bottom are fucked?

  • Boy I love the sound of those snares....

  • I'm thinking SCV has the best drumline :)

  • dose any body know the bmr marching band if so like this cause im in it

  • Them are some reefed snizzys.

  • Does anyone have that lick from 0:12 to 0:14 transcribed?

  • sheet music please??? will trade double beat or latin lover

  • what are the snares doing at 0:11?

  • @Midnightpitbull2 crushed buzz

  • Travis Barker took that beat in the beggining for his session

  • lets see take out the bassline and people well stop liking drumlines

  • Does SCV or any DCI corp use double snared snares? (snare drum with snares on the bottom and top head)

  • @Drumfun1401 It has been done in the past, but not so much anymore.

  • @OndrausCissell I think last time I heard it was in Cavies' snare feature 2004. It's on YT somewhere. Cavaliers 2004 book 2.

  • @OndrausCissell I think last time I heard it was in Cavies' snare feature 2004. It's on YT somewhere. Cavaliers 2004 book 2.

  • sounds like the snares are playing with drum set sticks haha...I wonder if its just the video.

  • @SpDrumz no there playing with SRH Ralph Hardimon... there light and think but give off an middium sound

  • Our drumline plays like the first 26 seconds of this i love it.

  • who ever tunes those snare i wanna kick in the nuts

  • @TheColbles2009 why is that needed?

  • @TheColbles2009 wtf why? they sound so damn good

  • @whitecastleawesome well they sound like pipe band snare. and after time, you would think that people would try to tune even higher, but in fact they went down a little bit and they don't use the snares under the batter anymore

  • @TheColbles2009 I rather like it.

  • @TheColbles2009 because of how good they sound or how bad they sound?

  • @TheColbles2009 you should kick ralph hardimon in the nuts then...

  • @TheColbles2009 You have to remember this was a loong time ago. Tuning drums is a completely different now.

  • @GSellFitness Even back then, these snares caused a lot of rumblings. They were cranked further than anyone else on tour that summer and not many liked it.

  • @ncooke11 i like the way they sound cranked up like that haha

  • @TheColbles2009 i kinda like the sound they get. its extremely high.

  • @TheMightyZooblin Many people do. To me it doesn't sound like they are breathing or resonating, and thats what drums are ment for (soundwise) to breate and be alive, not choked up. I love scv , and i tune my tenors to the 08 pitches since 08. cause they tune their tenors awesomely. Im not a fan of them choking the basses either. But thats drumming, its all personal taste :)

  • any body got the snare part

  • @HYPERGETIC Its probably the sound quality

  • @aalcan009 No thats how the snares actually sounded, Ralph Hardimon cranked the snares up super high.

  • whaddup with the snares? they sound weird.

  • does anyone have all the parts or at least the snare

  • why do the snare sound like plastic?

  • I just jizzed.

  • quad feature @ :56

    effing sweet

  • How do you play that tap-off at the beginning? It's not in the music I have. Like instead of Rlrr Lrll RRLL RRLL they have something with a shot and a buzz

  • sounds sexy

  • Ok, Why is the piece called Electric Wheelchair? If I may ask? This is coming from a guy in a wheelchair, not offended by any means just inquiring about the title thats all.

  • @cbritton1876 the way its stutters is supposed to represent a electric wheelchair going then stopping
