'People in the house just move ya' feet, get down to the rhythm of a hot house beat. It's in your blood so go ahead and jump (jump), make ya' body pump. Pump to the sound that'll make ya' body swing, right to left as the music play then clap ya' hands that'll make the rhythm complete, come on everybody and move ya' feet.'
Damn, those lyrics are tight! He has good rhthym and he keeps up with the pace of the beat. Who's the MC on this? He's damn good.
We actually had a secret technique at the time. Since samplers were very limited to just a few seconds, we would record each section to an 8 track Reel to Reel. That gave us 8X more sampling time. Since I was doing it in sections, it became more of a layered type of thing. Doing live mutes & Punches on the board.
frankie was so ahead of his time if u listen to his stuff just see how many people have sampled his early stuff , we still have oldskool nights i still play the history of house and the break boys ,, legend ,,,,,,
I appreciate all the comments. Gone but not forgotten. 20 years ago I made this track and it's always nice to be able to look back at all of this in a positive light.
@frankiebones01 and it was , and still is an awesome tune........ i have spent a lot of years listening to your awesome tracks........ "just as long as i got you, i've got enuf !!!" respect !
o yeah to the guy who asked about tommy musto i believe he is sellin insurance these days lol... thats what one of the former owners from northcott records told me....
Musto? Good Question. I talk to Lenny all the time, we got some plans. As for this track. We went back to the original way we made the earlier Break Boys tracks. That was by stiping 8 track reel-to-reel tape and layering the tracks. Some of the things you hear are not samples but me mixing records over tracks, loops and samples. I basically copied what we did two years earlier on "And The Breaks Go On". It worked out quite well, I believe. Thanks everyone.....
Frankie, its fair to say that you are the foudation of many a groundbreaking tune. I would like send you an email on two counts - one for booking and two for a spot on an internet radio show.
Just FYI, i'm using some software called MAGIX to record my vinyl. It does have the ability to take out a lot of the suface nicks and bangs from playback... but I tend not to as it sounds better with them.
Now if we could only teach the fools who post my music how to do a proper file to make it sound like this...I would have no problem with youtube....Thanks for that BTW.
what a tune !!! such a big inspiration to the uk music scene for sure
