@annepensalfini You do realise that not only will house values jump easily by 25 to 30% around the area, but also it will significantly improve public transportation access and reduce vehicular traffic in the area. There is absolutely no reason for you to be against an additional portal. Perhaps some research would be nice before making ill-informed comments.

Potential impacts here include hundreds of property resumptions; 4 years of construction impacts - noise, bulldozers, dirt, dust, vibration, traffic jams, road closures; and the destruction of our character suburbs and heritage homes. Further south (Clapham railyards) there would be less residential impact (info from CRR Local Advisory Group members; also see the City South news for 12 August, "The Waiting Game").
@annepensalfini yep, the same excuses used on every infrastructure project by local residents. You don't realise the long term benefits of having a subway or a subway access point on your doorstep. You are extremely lucky and instead you are complaining about an vitally important piece of infrastructure... Amazing.
@annepensalfini Sounds like you're grateful for all of the infrastructure that Brisbane is working on to accommodate our growing population, and wanting these projects to happen easily and harmoniously? I'm also grateful and imagine there are lots of priorities to juggle when building bridges and tunnels. I value the character of my community highly - I want that at the top of list, not the bottom. I also want transparency from the CRR team. I'm not alone. Have you read the article I mentioned?
