ANYONE WHO THINKS that because this is clearly inspired by dont worry baby it is therefore a worthless ripoff is worthless themselves. Look at the cures interpretation of friday on my mind by the easybeats-- friday im in love, dont worry baby--maybe lately.. Im sure if you asked him hede say he wrote this song because he loved the beach boys, as im sure most of the critics of this song do. TRY to not look for the similarities and instead look at the differences, no vocal harmonies on this hmm

the verse is almost exactly "Don't Worry Baby" by the beach boys though.. there's no denying it.. i'm all for inspiration but this is too much, imo. so to the person who says this is brilliant.. i can't disagree more.. it's catchy, yes, but not affecting like the beach boys.

he is not 'ripping off' beach boys / or buddy holly..naturally he is influenced by them and paying homage to their genius. this music has a very fresh, modern, ethereal, almost sigur ros type of element while being very 'pop-y' and crisp at the same time.
