If homosexuality were a choice, it should STILL be recognized on the grounds that it isn't anyone's business what you do with your personal life. It's about fulfilling the rights that were already promised in the United States Constitution via the 14th amendment that guarantees equal protection under the law. Even if it's "not close" (subjective) to what Black people went through in America, it still does not change the fact that those promised rights are not yet given.

From my understanding of the way the testaments work, explained to me by a devout Christian, the old testament indeed does not apply to you because you have "accepted Christ as your Saviour" and are therefore entitles you to follow the new testament.
Homosexuality, however, being considered a sin , is not an "acceptance of Christ" and therefore, homosexuals themselves are "bound and judged" by the old testament.
I would also like to mention that I truly admire the "love your neighbor" stance taken by yourself and many of your fellow Christians, as well as people of other faiths that do not believe it to be natural, at the very least.
My only disagreement in this context is with homosexuality being considered a sin.

In addition to the much deserved tax breaks that heterosexual married couples enjoy, recognizing gay marriage would allow one spouse to make medical decisions for the other when he/she is unable to. They would enjoy the same visiting rights, and default medical-proxy status for their spouses as straight couples do. Besides all of these benefits (aka: rights), it is about equality. Someday, this era of inequality will be looked upon with shame and confusion, the way we now look back upon slavery

I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like for what may seem like the world entire saying I don't have the same rights as everyone else to be happily wed. This, to me, harkens back to a dark period of our history where segregation was the norm, & sadly it seems we are living in such dark times. I stand with LGBT's. Actually, the whole "agenda" is not wholly about getting tax breaks for married couples. The "agenda" depends on the individual that advocates gay rights. It's about fulfilling the rights that were already promised in the United States Constitution via the 14th amendment that guarantees equal protection under the law. Even if it's "not close" (subjective) to what Black people went through in America, it still does not change the fact that those promised rights are not yet given.

They're being denied to right to marry. What if someone came up to you and said that you had to divorce your spouse because your marriage didn't fit their "criteria"? Why does anyone have the right to set criteria for love? Nobody is trying to make churches marry gay couples, which is the kind of marriage you seem to be referring to. To my knowledge that law was given to the people of Israel and not Christians. We do not follow the Old Testament ever since Jesus died on the cross for us.

From my understanding of the way the testaments work, explained to me by a devout Christian, the old testament indeed does not apply to you because you have "accepted Christ as your Saviour" and are therefore entitles you to follow the new testament.
Homosexuality, however, being considered a sin , is not an "acceptance of Christ" and therefore, homosexuals themselves are "bound and judged" by the old testament.

What's the US stance towards people in military dress participating in political rallies?
In Finland I know it is forbidden by the military code of conduct, but I don't know how it would translate to our 'veterans' (we don't really have veterans as we're not in wars, but people who have completed their military service)
It's allowed for soldiers to participate, but not in uniform. And as we can't keep our uniforms, we can't use them after our active duty. Anything similar, or is it free to use?

I couldnt' care less whom someone chooses to marry, however, the identity politics of the left has taken the discussion of true revolution in America to the margins. It's small potatoes. As David Harvey has said, the powers that be love identity politics. They think of them as new marketing niches. Which is pretty unthreatening.

As a matter of fact, Norway has full right of free speech and free thought. Everybody has the right to choose their religion. We are the richest people of the world. The big difference is that in Norway, we follow the UDHR.
Don't believe me? The UN's list over countries with good to bad human development is ranked from 1 (best) to 182 (worst) on human development. The USA? number 13. Norway? number one.

No. #1 Im not responsible for your salvation. You have to repent and change your ways.
No #2 I am one of the only people in US setting a standard for repentance, and turning away from sin, and perversion.
