  • these people are the people that will teach tea bagers a lesson i love you people my heroes...i will join you ...Gosh good versus evil tea bagers...wow you guys make me cry...lets support the president hes our man...lets not give up on him trust me ....he loves us ....trust me he loves you guys...he cries when he realizes hes not alone....

  • This is what happens when 2,000 year old superstitions are melded into modern politics, 10s of millions of americans are screwed out of their basic human rights.

  • Equality helps liberty.

  • Come on America... Why are you guys the LAST to move forward socially and economically? When health care is set in place, and gays can marry, don't pat yourselves on the back. It shouldn't have taken you so damn long.

Land of the free, and home of the brave...eventually.

  • @yackon4game If the majority of America supports this...then that means that straight people support it. Although, alot of people are more indifferent towards such groups....

  • As a straight guy i think gays should have rights but no fucking way i'd protest about it.

  • Has our country really not learned it's lesson with womens rights and that of African Americans? It's ridiculous, we're discriminating these people for SOMETHING THEY CANNOT CONTROL, just like being born a women in the early days of our country or black before the 60's. And besides that it's something that really shouldn't be an issue at all anyways. Does it really affect you personally who someone else loves? I can't believe Americans still can't see just how wrong this is.

  • @Bana871 My personal opinion is that, in a "free country" that prides itself as the child of classical libertarian philosophy, it should not matter whether or not homosexuality is a choice. If homosexuality were a choice, it should STILL be recognized on the grounds that it isn't anyone's business what you do with your personal life. To me, that's the most disturbing aspect of all this anti-gay sentiment and anti-gay law.

  • It's an issue, and of course, it should be an issue, that needs to be dealt with, however, I am concerned that, especially when seeing the GOP debating the issue, it could go on to become as toxic as alcohol... It will be legalized, prohibited, legalized again and then restricted... And looking at the influences in the GOP (TP, Evangelicals, Fundamentalists...), it could work as a pendulum...

  • gays, men, women are not equal as in the same (everyone is different) BUT they are all humans so they deserve at least equal human rights and THAT includes the opportunity to get married.... although honestly marriage can bring MORE problems to a relationship but hey its SHOULD be your choice if you want that for yourself.

feminism should concentrate on human rights activism not just rights for women but rights for all.

on that I SUPPORT SHARED PARENTING AND SO DO CHILDREN WHO HAVE FIT PARENTS

  • Why wasn't anyone put on the spot and tested on their political knowledge. Ask some of the protesters about their congressional district elections.

  • HOLY CRAP THE GIRL AT 2:50 IS SO CUTE

  • @meshumekha I KNOW, RIGHT?!!!

  • damn, i was hoping for stupid glen beck followers..they're funny to watch

  • i bieleve in god my family is a strong christian family but when you say god judgs gays your wrong god loves us ALL un conditionally and if you bieleve in god with all your heart and you let him into your heart no matter who you are if you have god in your life your going to heaven... and its not nice to judge people for who they love its not right

  • everytime i think of why gays shouldn't be able to marry, i just cant really think of any legit reasons. if u asked a little kid (no former judgment), they would likely support gay marriage, because its simple freedom

  • Lets keep speaking out .. One day , they have to acknowledge us

  • I have heard (have not checked for myself yet) that research has shown that people on the left are smarter than people on the right. It seems obvious to me.....

  • @OutsidrArtst You've maybe destroyed a Taboo... Now just bring up 'Europeans are Smarter than Americans' and all hell will break loose...

  • @OutsidrArtst

6% of scientists are republicans, which means that 94% of scientists are something else. that speaks volumes.

  • Straight ally right here!! I wasn't there, but I was with you in spirit. I can feel the love and positivity emanating off of this crowd; while the Tea Party crowd makes me feel the opposite.

  • @serge421UA You want lesbians to stop dancing in the streets in their underwear? I am hereby revoking your Hetero Card, and all benefits associated.

  • @serge421UA Then why can Atheists get married?

  • @serge421UA There's no need to be so biggoted, considering marriage doesn't even have to happen in a religious place its hardly the same as it always was. Marriage is continually becoming more secular.

  • @serge421UA WOW u need some pussy and a joint

  • I hope Obama deliveres on his promises soon, before people start to lose hope

  • @wranglers575 Google 'Obama promises kept.' Obama has an outstanding track record for keeping promises compared to other presidents.

  • @SolidSnakeRules Well then hopefully we should have no problems then :)

  • @wranglers575 Obama never promised to fix every problem. From the very beginning, he emphasized the fact that we are in a really shitty situation and the road to recovery will be long and arduous.

  • @SolidSnakeRules name one? o yeas, he cut and ran from Iraq. Any other promises?

  • @mediaphotographer I already told you: google 'obama promises kept'

  • Just look at them: smart, articulate, peaceful, and ATTRACTIVE!!!

better than those at the Glen Beck campaign...OH GOD

  • So proud! What a wonderful display of love, courage and resilience!

  • The gay rights march is so much smarter than the teabagger one and they all look so fabulous lol

  • I'm so glad these people actually can be articulate unlike the tea party. Keep it up guys.

  • In addition to the much deserved tax breaks that heterosexual married couples enjoy, recognizing gay marriage would allow one spouse to make medical decisions for the other when he/she is unable to. They would enjoy the same visiting rights, and default medical-proxy status for their spouses as straight couples do. Besides all of these benefits (aka: rights), it is about equality. Someday, this era of inequality will be looked upon with shame and confusion, the way we now look back upon slavery

  • WE FUCKING OUR FUCKING EQUAL RIGHTS. NO MATTER WHAT FUCKING RACE, GENDER, SEXUALITY. WHATEVER! WE ARE ALL HUMAN!!!! THIS IS NOT A FREE COUNTRY!!! FREE COUNTRY MY ASS.

  • @GaGatheSaint Go dude gr8 comment !

  • The only problem I have with gays serving in the military is their safety.

Picture what will happen when the Muslim extremists find out that gays are openly in the US Military. That will make them even more aggressive and angry. Every see those public hangings they do with gays in the Muslim countries?

  • Is that Kristin Chenoweth at 0:16? Bottom left?

  • the guy in the chicken suit is more well spoken than the teabagger in the four-cornered hat

  • Don't let the media take over your mind (FOX NEWS, CNN, MSNBC) - google: politifact (think for yourself, this site is donkey and elephant friendly...so no worries) - I'm heterosexual and I can proudly say I love homosexuals with all my heart! They've got huge balls or a nice set of ovaries to be fighting as hard as they do HAHA -Peace, Love, and Understanding-

  • I can't believe this is even an issue. Gays should have the same rights as everyone else.

  • @TheB34R I agree. Long live gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals and ALL human beings who just want to live lives of dignity and love!

  • he has A LOT on his plate, calm down or just move to canada, we love you here :)

  • haha yes that's a great way to put it 'a little more fierce'

  • what do we want ? EQUALIY ! when do we want it ? NOW

  • I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like for what may seem like the world entire saying I don't have the same rights as everyone else to be happily wed. This, to me, harkens back to a dark period of our history where segregation was the norm, & sadly it seems we are living in such dark times. I stand with LGBT's. We are close to equality, & if not in our time then in a time when our wiser descendants see such segregation as primitive and abhorrent.

  • @Zangdoodle: As crude as you said it, I agree.

Go Gay Marriage, bitches! I'd totes march... as a straight female, he he he

  • 00:15 seconds doesn't that look like Kristin Chenoweth that steps into frame? Wurd

  • Live and let live, that the most important for democratic country, but why do they need exactly gay and lesbian marriages?

  • Comment removed

  • today the don't ask don't tell policies HAVE been weakened

  • Dude at 5:01 doesn't look gay at all.

  • is the interviewer gay too? no wonder this seemed so good, he probs deleted all the bad parts, too biased.

oh btw i support this shit

  • 1:44, does that include small children?

  • Why is this an issue? Give the fags what they want and lets cure fucking cancer or something. I mean Jesus Christ its not like two dudes butt fucking has anything to do with me or my family or my work.

  • @Zangdoodle I wish more straight people were like you. You don't sound like the nicest person, but you don't give a shit about who I'm having sex with, and i don't know why other straight people do. Someone not caring about my sexuality means more than someone accepting my sexuality. You're a logical person, and the world needs more of them.

  • @Zangdoodle i like the message but you sound harsh

  • @robertonator101 I only regret using the word "fags" sorry

  • @Zangdoodle your an idiot but its okay...your forgiven vote for obama

  • @Flash02021990 it's you're not your, dummy.

  • @Zangdoodle You're an idiot.

  • @Flash02021990 "By the way, me text was bad in grammar because i was doing it through my cell phone."

Ah no worries dude. And yeah I was being a dick pointing that out, this is only youtube after all... Also I agree with everything you said, I think I must have misread it earlier. *blush* Forgiveness please.

  • I am a democrat and i gladly support the equality movement even though i'm straight. Most people dont realize that you have to go through the chain of command just like you have throughout your whole life, To get gay marriage legalized you must first go through your state legislature. pay attention in government class!!!!!!!!!

  • The homosexual soldiers should have simply quit. No use defending a country that won't even let you marry.

  • ...thank God being gay hasn't been illegalized by certain right-wing states. Hopefully, it won't come to that...not like you can enforce it.

  • You are dumb and that would never happen.

  • It's funny how a gay couple seems to have more love than most married heterosexual couples combined. It's tough to have change in civil rights - it's hard to have any change right now with too many issues: climate change, economy, civil rights, war. Especially with a congress that will not work together - it's ridiculous. Hopefully something will happen soon...and I'm a 'hetero.' lol

  • Funny how a country based on the values of freedom is denying freedom to a group....If your gay just come up here to Canada :)

  • I love that these people sound so much smarted than the people in your tea party videos.

  • as a happily married guy with 3 grankids, i believe a marriage should be between 2 people who love each other .

    I don't care if it's man- woman,man-man or whatever.

If your lucky enough to find love in your lifetime, youv'e got a right to happiness.

  • It's simple. Married couples gets tax and financial breaks that unmarried couples do not get. Gay people just as straight people should be able to marry whoever the hell they want. There is no reason other than some christian doctrine that opposes this.

  • @steve22x

    damn straight

  • @steve22x

So the whole agenda is about getting tax breaks for gay married couples ? I could care less who marries who but this is in no way close to what Blacks went through in this country.

  • @dhwrd3X

Actually, the whole "agenda" is not wholly about getting tax breaks for married couples. The "agenda" depends on the individual that advocates gay rights. It's about fulfilling the rights that were already promised in the United States Constitution via the 14th amendment that guarantees equal protection under the law. Even if it's "not close" (subjective) to what Black people went through in America, it still does not change the fact that those promised rights are not yet given.

  • @steve22x the bible its against, dont say that only some, if you are christian, follow your bible, if i were you i just would leave your religion, and become and agnostic, that why reason and morals become more important that an old book

  • @Janusha Its about one or two things, maybe both, or one then the other. Equality, and tax benefits. I'm for the first, but we ought to get rid of the later. It feels like a screw you to all the single people out here.

  • Demonstrating for gay marriage seems like demonstrating for the sakes of demonstrating. Its not like gays are denied any rights anyway. Muslims hate gays.. but what dont they hate really.. And who likes a muslim.. I digress.. but its all a bit pointless.

  • ure wrong , gay marrige will be allowed soon. and demonstrating for what you think is right is never pointless. i can see that u have never been to a demonstration.

  • Sure sure fine who cares.

  • That's exactly right, gays don't want to be denied the rights that every other U.S. citizen has. What's wrong with that? If two consenting adults who happen to be the same gender get married, how does it effect you? No skin off your nose.

  • Who denies gays anything anyway. You say the criterias for getting married are "two consenting adults" well.. those arent the criterias. The ONLY rule for getting married is this "marriage is a pact between man and woman" Changing the only rule transforms the entire concept of marriage. Its not a social status, tax benefits, Its not what YOU think is fair. Its an ancient tradition. one of our most ancient and fundamental concepts. Its a fertility, family thing. In which, gays come a bit short.

  • They're being denied to right to marry. What if someone came up to you and said that you had to divorce your spouse because your marriage didn't fit their "criteria"? Why does anyone have the right to set criteria for love? Nobody is trying to make churches marry gay couples, which is the kind of marriage you seem to be referring to. There's absolutely no reason for the government to deny their citizens legal marriage, though. By your logic, infertile couples can't marry, either.

  • This has got nothing to do with the values of marriage and all to do with the fact that you dont want to feel there is stuff out there that you cant have. Get real. You dont live in some communist shithole where people come to your house and deny you your right. This is a tiny issue of you not wanting to feel left out. And for that we should rewrite thousands of years of traditions so you can feel better today. By MY logic... I HAVE logic whereas you seem to make yours up on the spot.

  • Do you honestly think that the values of marriage haven't changed at all between cultures and over time? In some cultures having multiple wives is acceptable, as is a young child marrying an adult. Values change. You're basing your logic on your own moral beliefs, and you're ignoring my question about infertile couples. I also like that you're accusing me of being a lesbian because I believe in equality. I can get married. I think it's wrong that there are some adults who can't.

  • Thousands of years of traditions also include things like not shaving, odd dietary taboos, and not bathing frequently. You can't live in a modern society with values from the Dark ages. You seem to confuse religious values with legal marriage. Everyone has different morals, you can't impose one standard on everyone. That's all these people are asking for. Nobody's asking you to change your bigoted, backwards attitude, they just don't want your beliefs dictating what other people can do.

  • *Legal marriage is all they're asking for, not one moral standard. In case that wasn't clear.

  • Yes yes yes and the crusades and not brushing your teeth..

Ofcourse im ignoring your question about infertility because its totally and utterly irrelevant. .Get a grip now. When you get back on track and stop waffling, Ill answer.

  • It's not irrelevant. You said that gay people shouldn't get married because marriage is only for procreation, and infertile couples are just as incapable of reproducing as gays. When you can make a decent argument against gay marriage without injecting your values into it, you'll have a case. I love how you responded without actually trying to refute any of my arguments and instead decided to say that my perfectly legitimate point was irrelevant. Running out of material, eh?

  • Ok.. then I suggest you get classified as "infertile couple" instead of gay. Then prevent the rest of us from joining that club. Then you have something we can never aspire to and you can feel like a winner. because this isnt about some physical tangiable need, its about how you feel. Cool ?

  • This is about a physical tangible (nice spelling skills, by the way) need. You think that because a person is straight, they have a special right to marriage that no one else can have. Why do you care if a gay couple gets married? Who asked you to set the standard for marriage? This isn't about jealousy, it's about equality. Would you say the same thing to a woman in the 19th century who couldn't vote? Would you tell her that she couldn't have that right because of something she was born with?

  • "Straight" is a way of saying im not gay. Im not straight, im normal. I dont need to be branded "straight" to know that Im normal. You need to know that being gay is the anomaly here. Marriage is no human right. If I was Jewish... should i fight for the right to have christmas. I couldnt give a flying fuck whether you get married or not. Im just explaining to you why were not going to change the one rule of marriage inorder to accomodate an anomality that is 100% oposite of what marriage is.

  • Being Jewish is a choice. You can stop being Jewish whenever you want. People are born gay, no matter what you think. If people weren't born gay, then why would kids born into very anti-gay families be gay? They do exist, I know some people in that situation. I'm done arguing with your bigoted, illogical, narrow brain. Have a nice life in your "this is still the 1950's" bubble.

  • yeah.. tell the jews they can just stop being jewish. People arent born gay. Just like people arent born criminal or christian. People are born black or white, tall or short, rich or poor. The rest is all upbringing and environment. In my experience people turn gay for all kinds of reasons. However I wont argue that because thats like trying to convince the pope there is no god.

  • Religion is a choice. If somebody was raised Jewish but decided that they didn't believe in it, they could stop. If people decide to be gay, then everyone else must decide to be straight. When did you? I certainly don't ever remember deciding that I liked the opposite sex. People are born with more than basic physical characteristics, personality is also determined by genes. Why not sexuality?

  • I told you.. YOU are the anomaly. I dont need to decide or be branded anything to be normal. Because being normal is what I am by default.

Do you know what "womans logic" is? Its a great english expression describing a person (usually a woman) that invent their own laws of physics and logic to fit the arguement. Like when you postulate that people are born gay and that personality is in genes. Something which is grabbed right out of the air and presented as fact. I wont discuss sexuality.

  • You're a moron. Get your head out of your ass, marriage is not procreation only.....that's only true if you're a goddamn idiot mormon. Please think harder before you type

  • Did I say marriage was procreation only ?

I didnt make the rules and you... stop being a silly arse. Grow up.

  • You're a coward, you dodge scizophrenicpanda's question because you know you're wrong and you have nothing to say to back it up. You are worthless

  • Isn't it amazing the difference in the knowledge and understanding of the issues between this crowd and the Sarah Palin fans and the Tea-baggers rally?

  • Yes, the difference is quite cunning.

I'd actually like to see the raw footage to make sure we're not being shown the best of one rally, and the worst of another.

You can never been to cautious of an outlet with bias in its name.

  • @mdlinks

You should come to terms with the fact that the 'level of ignorance' in the tea party has been sensationalized. A willful ignorance is on display in this very video; after all, who really believes Obama supports the LGBT when his appointee's in the DOJ are ACTIVELY DEFENDING DOMA? Do you really believe that there isn't a single supporter of the LGBT comm. who has his ear? You don't think they've let him in on this?

Google "Obama's DOMA Defense Unacceptable" as a PRIMER

  • @mdlinks I was thinking that same thing While watching this. Its amazing...

  • @mdlinks

A gay guy in a chicken suit makes more sense than a teabagger or Palin disciple casually dressed. What a world.

  • @om3ga123 i'm sorry, i didn't see your comment, so i swear i'm not copying you or anything

  • @weareskyscrapers

lol no worries... great minds... lol

  • @mdlinks SERIOUSLY, THIS

plus these crowds are just so much, you know, nicer

  • @mdlinks Well, in all fairness please remember that there may have been some selective editing to get a specific message across for the Tea-bagger rally as well as for the Equality rally. That being said, I am a bit impressed by the level of informed opinion in this video.

  • @madamimadamimadam

Yes, I would agree with your comment.

  • @mdlinks so you judge the collective informedness of a crowd by a few interviews chosen and edited by liberals?

of course the liberals are going to look intelligent and the conservatives are going to look unintelligent.

  • @discreetsheep

"of course the liberals are going to look intelligent and the conservatives are going to look unintelligent."

Uhm, well yeah. That is about right. :)

  • @mdlinks yeah,1. cause out of thousands of people they show a selected few.

    2. here its about THEIR agenda, and not the support of some puppet politician, which ultimately results in a higher asshole appearance.

  • I don't know why everyone keeps saying that Christians hate Gays.

True Christians wouldn't care if his neighbor is Gay or trans gender. The most important thing to do is love one another like brothers. The bible does not teach us to hate them. It teaches us to preach to them and not be scared of them. It is however a sin to be gay but who are we to judge? Just turn your cheek and accept them for who they are.

Please stop the lies and read the bible.

  • May not have come across in that comment, but I am pro-equality and not a Christian.

I just think you should do a little research seeing as I could have pulled most of that from a Google search.

  • To my knowledge that law was given to the people of Israel and not Christians. We do not follow the Old Testament ever since Jesus died on the cross for us.

we are under the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2, which is to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mindand to love your neighbor as yourself Matthew 22:37-39

Now do we still have to love our neighbor if he was gay? Most definitely just like how Jesus was friends with crooks.

  • Matthew 5:17

Don't think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn't come to destroy, but to fulfill

  • From my understanding of the way the testaments work, explained to me by a devout Christian, the old testament indeed does not apply to you because you have "accepted Christ as your Saviour" and are therefore entitles you to follow the new testament.

Homosexuality, however, being considered a sin , is not an "acceptance of Christ" and therefore, homosexuals themselves are "bound and judged" by the old testament.

  • I would also like to mention that I truly admire the "love your neighbor" stance taken by yourself and many of your fellow Christians, as well as people of other faiths that do not believe it to be natural, at the very least.

My only disagreement in this context is with homosexuality being considered a sin.

  • What's the US stance towards people in military dress participating in political rallies?

In Finland I know it is forbidden by the military code of conduct, but I don't know how it would translate to our 'veterans' (we don't really have veterans as we're not in wars, but people who have completed their military service)

It's allowed for soldiers to participate, but not in uniform. And as we can't keep our uniforms, we can't use them after our active duty. Anything similar, or is it free to use?

  • I think Dan Choi has been mentioned a lot in the UK's liberal newspapers. :)

It's horrible how the republicans can ruin the happiness of such a large community and stop 2 consenting adults from being together. The only justification they use is the bible.

  • Be thankfull you can hide behind your computer and say those things. Be thankfull you can puff up your ego against an issue that doesn't affect you at all, but be ashamed that you act like a little whiney bitch. You must be one of those conservative that have Big barks, but no bite.

  • Comment removed

  • why aren't there any conservative out there finding crazy liberals at our protests? lol because you have more then your fair share of crazies!

  • I don't think they're claiming to be documentarians in the sense you're talking about. "Left" is right in the name. Not a case of the "fair & balanced" rubbish you're probably more comfortable with...

  • I couldnt' care less whom someone chooses to marry, however, the identity politics of the left has taken the discussion of true revolution in America to the margins. It's small potatoes. As David Harvey has said, the powers that be love identity politics. They think of them as new marketing niches. Which is pretty unthreatening.

  • Im so proud of the Millions of youth standing up for their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.

  • i think this interviewer was featured on the bbc the other day

  • I'd like to see the interviews with the stupid people at this march.

  • Its amusing to see the difference between the Sarah Palin supporters video and this.

Right-Wingers truly are more stupid in general.

  • I agree, although I'm sure the "right-wingers" could find some stupid liberals although it may be a little harder :)

  • I really fail to see what evolution has to do with politics unless you're not talking about genetic evolution.

  • "evolution works in mysterious ways"

    No it doesn't.

    It actually works very predictably.

  • Plate!? There is no plate! Obama is not eating the country! It is just about the worst time to be pres, but there is no excuse considering he hasn't even tried.

  • im enlightened european how can somebody think that god wrote a book. i couldnt even believe in jesus christ when i was 3 might have existed but wasnt gods son

  • "On July 20, 2005, Canada became the fourth country in the world and the first country in the Americas to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide with the enactment of the Civil Marriage Act."

Our country is fine; the only threat to our nation and our sovereignty is still the same, our corrupt politicians and the USA, it has not changed in a 142 years.

The only people against gay marriage have underling insecurities of their own sexuality.

I am a straight man and I support this message. lol

  • I'm not gay, and I'm not an american. I'm a free, straight agnostic woman living in Europe, in a kingdom you probably would call "socialistic". My family has three generations of agnostics and atheists, and it's not gonna stop whit this generation.

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL HUMAN KIND, as it is said in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

  • As a matter of fact, Norway has full right of free speech and free thought. Everybody has the right to choose their religion. We are the richest people of the world. The big difference is that in Norway, we follow the UDHR.

Don't believe me? The UN's list over countries with good to bad human development is ranked from 1 (best) to 182 (worst) on human development. The USA? number 13. Norway? number one.

  • easy to spout off though. Could the Norweigan government step in and get that ranking with 300 million people? oh and half the country not wanting to do ANYTHING to help the other(REPUBLICANS)? 13 was higher then I thought we would be.

  • Oh, and I did not say that I lived under a socialistic government. I said I lived in a country YOU most probably would call a country with a socialistic government.

  • oh yeah? and what are you gonna do when the hounds of hell are barking at your door just cos i like guys as well as girls? You will run and hide, because you dont have the balls to hit anything head on, thats why you sit there spreading your shit all over this website. there is nothing you can do to stop people wanting rights equal to their brother's and sisters. So come on wanna take a walk in my shoes? See that my life is not as much of a deviant life of sin as you like to think?

  • hahaha, i dont like high heels either mate, they rub like fuck. quit trying to use God to scare people away from being free and living a life that you find imposing or intimidating. AND, i dont have to "seek salvation", i will not "repent" because i am doing nothing wrong, i am living my life, enjoying it, and tbh, i dont care what you think, i have more or less the same amount of respect as a straight guy, i can get married, i just want the same for people in the U.S.

  • Well rhoo, I all can say is; I can try to reveal the truth in love to people. When we know its only Jesus christ that can reveal the truth to all people.

    Take care over there.

  • how can a fictional creature save someone?
