@edpleasure the red cat rs10 xt is a good beginner crawler as well. comes with four wheel steer and can be built into a legit comp crawler. has good after market support as well, which is a vital component to a hobby grade rc. around $160 on ebay, and look for the XT model, new and improved. lower the shock lower link mount a.s.a.p and better tires would help also. hot bodies rover (white) are top notch. this crawler is also an M.O.A (motor on axle) hope this helps, have fun.

Hey DJ. I want to purchase a crawler for my son. I see the newer axials have behind the axle steering and dual motors which eleiminate drive shafts. Is the crawler in this vid older? What do you suggest I purchase for a newbie into the sport of RC crawlers? Thanks. Cool Vid.

@edpleasure Yes, this is a video from 2009. Apart from my video collection, on my main channel - I have a top 10 Q&A for people to read. Also.. in my more recent crawler vids.. I have lengthy descriptions to assist as well. My question to you is: What type of Crawling? Rock Crawling? Trail Crawling? In water? Budget.. Etc.. If you are introducing your sone to RC.. I would suggest the Crawler King from HPI or an Axial SCX10 RTR. These are fairly versatile.
