  • This is awsome! I'm one of those annoying people that puts their makeup on the bus on my way to work (I take an express buws into the city) I can actually do this -This is great thanks!!!

  • you are the best makeup guru on youtube. I've learned lot from you. i knew nothing about makeup and now i know alot... people have been giving me compliments on my makeup.....thanks to you only....superb....thanks

  • LOVE IT!

  • wot kind of mineral powder is it?

    mineral skinfinish???

  • i was wondering should you use primer even if you have oily skin?

  • definitely, it will help seal in the oils your skin produce, and use some to make your makeup last long on your skin.

  • thanks for the reply!

So which primer should i get if your on a budget?

    and what do you use.

    thanks again!

  • the face primers are pretty pricey, but a good investment. Check out smachbox Photo Finish Clear, or MAC Prep & Prime Skin.

  • Gorgeous. :)

  • I love you

  • I noticed that you used your ring finger to smootht he edges of the paint pot on your eyes - I see a lot of make up artists use their ring finger when applying/smudging/blending makep - why is this??!!

  • hey boom - because its the finger that applies the least pressure, and you dont want a lot of pressure in your eye area.

  • hi enkore i so subscribed ur awesome

  • is this video meant for guys?

  • I heard that buffering your foundation into your skin can clog your pores (I'v never had this problem before although I rarely wear cover up and I'v never had any acne problems)

Have yo uever had this problem or heard of anyone who has?

  • one thing about mineral makeup is that it doesnt really clog pores that's why its becoming more and more popular. I dont think i would buff any other kind of foundation tho, Id use regular foundation brushes on those.

  • thanx sooooooooooo much!!!!

    did i mention i love u?

  • can we use different brushes

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Thanks so much for this tutorial!! It really helped me get my time down on my makeup in the mornings. You're fantastic!

  • This video really helped me get a routine going for the morning. I used to think that I never had time to do my makeup before I left for school, and now I look really great in just about five minutes. I use tinted moisturizer, powder, bronzer, liner, mascara, and lip balm and I'm ready to go. Thanks EnKore!

  • great great tutorial! thank you!

"...sun naturally hit me"(?) XDD lol english is so funny! XD actually "make up language" is really funny and very... creative for me XDDD

  • hey Koren! I just discovered your videos and I love them, thanks! I have a question about what type of eyeliner to use.

everytime I put on eyeliner, at the end of the day (sometimes even after an hour), it looks a bit smudged! Especially on the bottom line, it always looked smudged at the end of the day. What kind of eyeliner is best to have that crisp eyeliner look all day long?

  • hey Gena - definitely look for Styli-Style Line and Seal 24-hour liners. I featured these in my Longwear Makeup video - check that out. These are drugstore brands, or you can also find online at Harmon's Discount Beauty.

  • Koren,

I just wanted to tell you that this was a good video. I cannot wait to try this day time look! It turned out really nice on you and I can't wait to see how good it will look on me as well. Thank you! *SMILE*

  • On a given day I use either or both concealer and tinted moisturiser, bronzer with either an orange or pink blush, and I stick with the bronzes, browns, blues, greens, and purple for eyeshadows. But all these look so harsh now. Do you think i should go a less is more approach , I want a natural look a la Lauren London ~very soft and pretty. I was thinking to bleach my eyebrows a little lighter might help. Any advice?

  • hey Kay - definitely play with different looks. Sometimes you will want a little drama to your makeup, so don't count that out - dont be afraid to mix briwn with colors as well. Applying lightly will give you a more natural look, and then build from that until you get the look you wanted.

  • Hi Koren. Can you give me some pointers. I'm a young African American with a light skin carmel complexion. I recently changed my hair color from a brown with caramel highlights back to my natural dark brown. My question how can I replicate that soft natural look that I got with the brown hair with the dark brown hair?

  • hey Kay - well, the darker your hair the more stiking it will look. Lighter will give it a softer look. So, let the color set in a bit, and it will soften as it fades.

  • HAHA Koren, you look so serious in this video.;D Love this video by the way....I normally do something similar to this in the morning when I have a early class. It's way fast and simple :).

  • Hi enkore just wantd to ask what mascara d u recomend dt won't smudge and also what do u use to conceal pimple scars because i have some like yours..pls..pls..need help..thanks

  • hey iutotmo - you can pretty much use any waterproof mascara. It will also help i fyou use a lash primer, most of mascara smudging is caused by oils in the lashes. Much like hair they do get oily. When concealing my acne scars, I just use Smashbox Photo Finish to prime and fill in the crevisces, the I use Studio Finish concealer to conceal the deeper ones. Then I find Studio Fix Liquid the best for me when even-ing evrything out.

  • uhm I am wondering what kind of mascara do you use on a daily basis that are curling :) just wondering

  • hey hzaporteza - Loudlash is a great curling mascara for daily wear.

  • Thank you...

  • Hi Koren..just wanna ask if its okay to use da uhm liquid fndation den the mnral powder?

  • hey Fate - yeah, that is totally fine.

  • you know, koren? you should get your own website! It would be so fetch.

    i <3 mean girls lol

  • it's reallyyy helpful....thanks a lot enkore ;)

  • now, I've always been unsure of this but when you apply eyeliner, do you just go to the end of your lashes or to the end of the eye?

  • hey alerma- depends on the look youre trying to achieve. You can can do it from inner corner to outer end corner, but thiw will make your eye appear smaller. You can just do the lashline, smudge it a little for that soft smokey look. You can also extend further the corner for a more dramatic style like Cat eye and goth looks.

  • it is simple, i can do that.

  • can you do a tutorial on how to do eyeshadow for asian eyes? not the monolid kind, the kind with double lid, like you know how it's not as deep as caucasian eyes?

  • superb...really great make-up tutorial..thanks alot encore..do u have a salon?? where is it located..

  • i love ur palette, any mac stores do have that right? how much does that cost with or without the shadows?

  • the palettes are $12 each, and the eyshadow pans are $10.50 each color.

  • Great tips, very helpful. I will try this. I do my make-up a little different. Time to try something new.

  • Hi, i travel a lot and by the time i reach my destination my makeup is almost always either half gone or smudged around :( i have heard of sprays that you can use on your face that sets the makeup so it stays in place but i've never found anything like that.... do you anything about this?

  • check out Makeup Sealer Final Seal from Kryolan.

  • Ello Koren, i'm wondering if theres any cheap good working eyeliner and mineral foundation you can recomend? & thax for this video, it helps alot! +}

  • hey twinkle - definitely look for STYLI-STYLE line and seal liners! Theyre avail at most drugstore chains. Also - check out Beautyfromtheearth (dot) com for mineralized foundations.

  • thank u! +}

  • hi koren,i have a liquid foundation,do i need to set it with a powder?,can i use mineralize skin finish natural as a foundation alone? thanks, grace

  • yes always set with powder - you can use MSF Natural as foundation alone.

  • Hi Koren, im from malaysia. thank u so much one of the best tutorial. after moisturize did i have to apply base b4 foundation? what is base use actually?

  • hi Lenny - you can skip the base and just apply foundation. But with heat and humitdity in Malaysia, it will help you if you use a base Primer. It helps the foundation stick to the skin and makes it apply smoothly and more flawless. MAC has Prep & Prime and Smashbox have Photo Finish Primer. Both are great bases. Like wise with eyeshadows, its better to use a base primer first.

  • Hi Koren...first of all I want to thank you for one of the best tutorial sites here on Youtube. I have a question, if I use a tinted moisturizer do I still need to moisturize and prime before application of tinted moisturizer?

  • hey Ashlyn - no need if you're using a tinted moisturizer. Its already built in. But Priming is still helpful so that the foundation will apply on more flawlessly.

  • I'm loving this! I'm always looking for ways to look good even when I'm in a hurry or have an easy day. Keep 'em coming!

  • Thank you... i think i am addicted to ur videos.. it's way past my bed time...lol..

thanks again for very useful tips.

  • hey enkore! if i use the studio fix foundation/powder, do i still need to use a finishing powder on top? thanks!

  • hey ballet - nope, no need. StudioFix Powder is hybrid. its foundation and powder in one.

  • Can I ask a question on the blush? I got a feeling that the use of brown toned blush/bronzer is more for a daytime/casual look while the (much) use of pink toned blush is for a more formal look. It still must depend on the totality of makeup--e.g., when having dramatic eyes, keep the rest of the face neutral, so use subtle brown toned blush/bronzer instead of bright pinky shade. Thank you!

  • thanks.... =)

  • hey dear..luv all ur video!!!juz wanna know what colour or code number for ur Mineral SkinFinish?my skin colour similar to urs.And 1 more thing, can u tell me how i can minimize my old acne scar(deep scar around cheek area)..please n thanks..

  • Hey dear..luv all ur video!!I juz wanna know what kind of colour or code number for ur Mineralized Skinfinish?I have a similar skin tone with u..and 1 more thing,I have a old acne scar on my face that will never go away, any idea how to minimize them?please n thanks...

  • hey meluvbling - I use Medium Dark. You can spot conceal the scar using concealer and set with powder prior to foundation or skinfinish.

  • ur so great!!! look my skin is like a dark tan color.. and i have dark blue eyes.. what colors do u recommend me(eyeshadow).. should i wear blush or bronz?

  • definitely look for colors that have orangy undertone, purples will also complement your dark blues agains your dark tan. If youre dark tan - really no need to bronze! so just brush if need to.

  • Your 10-min make-up is almost equal to my full make-up regimen... haha. BTW, I tried one of the tips here--using just powder as foundation replacement--and it really works!

  • how much was you wearing to start with???

  • none, I had moisturizer on before i started.

  • U r soo great i love your videos very helpful I just wonder what kind of foundation u use

  • hey agniecha - I used mineralized skinfinish in this video.

  • This video is great - especially for a makeup novice like myself. I especially love the concealing under eye video as well. I'm a very fair skinned girl who's purple veins show up through the skin and my attempts at trying to cover them have always turned out horrendously.

    Thanks for making these videos!!

  • I love the eyes! I'm gonna try it.

  • depends on the season. Winter, I like Moistureblend with moisturizers as I tend to get dry. Studio Stick i love for photo shoot and stage. If I just want a clean daily barely-there look, I use Mineralized SkinFinish.

  • Mr. EnKore, this simple yet attractive look demonstrates why I love MAC cosmetics sooo much. I've wasted $ on drugstore stuff trying to achieve simple looks and failed. But because MAC is such high quality the simplest of colors really makes one's features pop. Thank you and please keep up the good work.

  • wow, your eyebrows look killer! so jealous of the shape...

i love the way your jaw moves when u apply your foundation hehe~

  • hahaha I tell you makeup application is aerobics workout for the face muscles! haha

  • FANTABULOUS! Love it, love it, love it!

  • Very neat. :)

  • enkore, it took you 10 minute, and i took 1/2 hour to do that :)...you're way too good.

  • hey Yene - just keep practicing. You'll get faster. But hey if you have more than 10 mins to spare, spend more time blending, even out liners, things like that.

  • you know something??

YOU'RE AMAZING!! thank you so much for all your videos. they really helped me a lot! especially the mixing medium and the brush cleaner one!!

    thanks!!

  • Hi!

I love your videos!! Im not a make up artist or something like that but I find very relaxing watching you.

I just wanted to comment that it would be better if you could used a white light because sometimes one can not appreciate the colors and things you are explaining. Event though you do great job!!!

  • I liked how you mentioned that 'Bark' is a good eyebrow colour....as I have been using that lately. It was a colour that I bought when I had a Mac makeover which unfortunately made me look ghastly. I am not sure why I bought it...maybe I felt abit obligated nevertheless I now like the colour for brows and not as a shadow. Especially since I watched this video and heard your comment. Glad to get the reinforcement from you and your video.

  • So, I allowed one of the spammed videos for comments, and it seems the spam stopped, so Im activating this one and see how it goes.

  • Hi GUYS! I temporarily disabled COMMENT on this video as I just deleted 500 Spams and they are still pouring in non stop. Im trying to find out whats going on.

  • argh! spam you gotta hate it.

i know that was random. ;)

  • Thanks for the tips!!

BTW, you remind my of Eddie Funkhouser in the end, heh.

    :)

  • Hey Koren! Ive been showing my mom your vids and she has REALLY pencil thin lips. Do you have any suggestions on what to do to make them...more fuller i guess. Shes never sure what to do with them. :)

  • hey turnthepage - she can reshape her lips by using lip erase, or concealer, and then using a lipliner to draw in the new lip, then fill with her fave lipstick. If you watch the end part of my NUDES & SHAPER video, I reshaped my lips there.

  • I was wondering what your advice would be.

I have very pale eyebrows (invisible=]) and i want people to be able to see them without it looking fake or stupid. id rather not use an eyebrow pencil =]

    ty so much

    your vids are GREAT!! :):)

  • The only way to make it look natural is if you draw little hairs. So that requires a pencil. You can also use eyashadows in light brown and an angle brush and draw the hairs.

  • My nose looks crooked in some lights. I was wondering if you could please do a tutorial on how to make my nose look straight! I have a little bump on the right side of my bridge!!But I don't want to get a nosejob haha.

  • Just watch my Nudes and Shapers video, and do the contouring the nose part. You can reshape your nose anyway you want! :)

  • Just for the kids to know. Naked Lunch is originally a book written by a heroin addict that is about giant centipedes and a bunch of gross things. :P makes you think twice when you're putting it on!

  • That was super quick, speedy service.

    Thanks a bunch!

  • This may be a silly question but is the mineralized skinfinish powder a foundation? Because from the mac description, i got the feeling that it is a sheer powder to set your foundation or set your makeup after you apply your foundation.

Thanks for the great tutorials, so helpful for new learners.

  • Yeah its listed under powder, but its a great foundation as well, if you dont need major coverage. I find it very buildable and I have achieved quite a coverage with it. And of course, mineralized by nature is water resistant, so thats a plus.

  • You are just amazing! I realllly enjoy watching your vids! Keep up the great work!

  • I loved it..please tell me what is the name of the color paltte

    thanks

  • hey tatazarate - I will feature that palette in a new video. So keep watching!

  • Hey K,

Great vid Thanks this was done Beautifully:)

    xoxo Tish xoxo

  • what color lipliner did you use at the end?

    Cheers,

    Lib

  • I used WHIRL

  • Thanks. I'll add that to my lemmings list

  • Its definitely a MUST-HAVE color in my kit!

  • Love this! It is sooooooooo helpful! Tells you what brush to use and everything! Great!

  • This comes really handy for me since, im a new mommy that has about 15mins to get out the bed and get ready altogheter before my bundle gives the last strike ;)

  • this really helped! thanks a whole bunch =D you're my hero!

  • i always get so lost with eye makeup =/ and my mum isn't much help =( she just uses eyeliner funny and like mascara but i never know how to apply eyeshadow!

  • Another great video!!!

I learn so much from watching you....keep up the good work! :)

  • so simple :).

  • Koren thanks, I look forward to your videos

    this one is really helpful.

I learn so much from you!

  • Wow thats so quick! I going to time myself tomorrow, it always takes me about 30-40mins doing my make up in the mornings! Great video, looking foirward to your next one :)

  • I know, I'm always late to work cause I'm going all out with the bright makeup ha ha ha

  • hi En .. Loved ur work .. im just wondering, where can i find good puffer brushes as the one u used ? whats the last powder u used after the blush to settle th skin tone

    Nadia

  • Hi Nadia - I used MAC 182 buffer brush. Any Kabuki type brush will do. Sephora carried quite a variety of Kabuki brushes. I used Mineralized SkinFinish after the blush.

  • I LOVE your videos. Like many other Youtube users.. we really look forward to your videos! My friends and I talk about how gorgeous and talented you are all the time! Thank you so very much xox

  • Great video Koren! You got it down to 10 min with a few secs to spare. I'm not used to seeng your face so serious though LOL!

  • dont let anyone stop what u love doing

you are amazing that a guy actually understands how to do make up

    forget about all those "haters"

    u r amazing

  • Fab vid Koren! You are so good!! I so appreciate that you take the time to share with us!

    Heather :-)

  • MERCI MERCI MERCI !!!!!

Thanks for all your awesomes tutorials, you're so great, you're one of the resons I'm addicted to Youtube!

  • Great video! There's no excuse for me not to apply make up in the morning before work. I will have to try it and see if I can do it in 10 minutes. Thanks so much!

  • Hi Koren!

Great video. I was just wondering what colour lipliner & paint pot you used?

    Thank you!

  • I used WHIRL lipliner and Painterly PP.

  • Thanks for your lovely tutorial...I love your videos...you are sooo goood...thanks...

  • Do people actually leave bad comments? Even if it's just an instructional video, I guess people are adverse to a male applying makeup...

  • hey Dyakki - I know, it really makes me sad. I just want to help others out there, but somehow a guy wearing or teaching makeup is still unacceptable somehow.

  • dont worry about it. your vids are great and so helpful. luv ya.

  • Well, hun, just forget those haters because the rest of us love you and your videos! :)

  • i dont mind. you put on makeup better than most women. in fact, i was gonna ask you if you're also dolled up while doing make up on your clients or you dont wear make up 'coz u dont want your clients to get intimidated that you look more girly than them? lol...esp when u work up your eyes (*wink*)

  • Awe thanks guys - no I dont doll up when I do clients. I want them to really feel their prettiest after Im done with them, and that makes them feel good.

  • Love ya! You're awesome!

  • this is cool, i no longer have to wake up at 6 in the morning for the one hour ritual.

    thanks!

  • I have oily eyelids and the paintpots and shadesticks still make my eyeshadows crease. do you have any advice on what other primer I can use?

  • Rona - definitely try Urban Decay Primer Potion!!

  • Wow!! I'm really gonna need to try out the mineralized foundations! Gorgeous, simple, fresh look! Love it! :)

  • i just luv your videos :)

keep up the good work, you rock!

  • Great tut like always!

  • Hiya Koren! I was wondering what kind of mineral makeup you used in this vid??? I have been looking for a good one. The one you used made your skin look fab. Thanks and keep up the awesome job!!

  • Its Natural Mineralized SKINFinish by MAC - I love them, and I use the darker tone as a bronzer

  • This was incredibly helpful. I also appreciate the voice-over while you're doing the tutorial (you probably do as well!)

  • BTW you look STUNNING IN THIS VIDEO!!! wow!!

  • I love this!! Usually tutorials show you HEAVY makeup that you really can't wear in the day...I love this!! I love you!!

  • I couldn't imagine it only taking me 10 minutes to do my makeup because I go to bed thinking about how fun it's going to be to wake up and do my makeup I love to spend a long time with it.

    Love your videos <3

  • I love the natural msf!

  • just wanted to let you know this is the lesson i never got but always needed. your tutorials are the best.thanks once again <333

  • Koren I've got a question for you! :)

what is the easiest foundation to work with? I have a demo tomorrow and I'm not totally familiar with MAC foundation and despite research, I'm lost ;)

    Thaaaaank you :)

  • hey Kathryn - for demos, Id go with cream or powder - they are easier to work with than liquids, specially if the demo is timed.

  • very nice look!

  • perfect for the office too ^-^.

  • sweet

  • Koren, Its so great of you to share your knowledge with us. I feel like I know a real live make up artist..and getting all this info for free!!! Very generous of you. Thanks!!

  • Yeeeey! You make me want to start using a bronzer.

  • I know...ever since Koren, I've been trying to use bronzer and blush religiously

  • is the paint pot better than the urban decay potion as primer?

  • hmmm I like paintpots, but UDPP is the bomb!!! So, if you have UDPP, use that!

  • You make such nice videos and you are the cutest!

  • DO you read minds too?

Coz that's exactly what I need. I am not a morning person AT ALL...So just imagine me every morning trying to soak all that moisturizer in for 15 min ;-) while feeding n changing my 16 mth baby at the same time before leaving to work. A great one. Lovin it

  • Yeah - try applying your moisturizer, then go do a couple morning errands. Perhaps making coffee or toast! Or get together what baby needs at daycare. Then do your MU!

  • that's what I've been doing since you upload that tutorial of yours ;-)

  • Yeah that's what I've been doing since you uploaded your prep n prime tut ;-)

  • Love this tutorial, looks so simple yet very beautifull. Also I wanted to thank you for your advice on the prep and prime. I got it as well as the studiotech foundation. I love both! Thanks to the primer my skin looks really even and the foundation keeps my skin matt all day, just what I needed! I chose both because of of what you said about them in your vids!

  • Yeay! So glad that combo worked for ya! Thanks for sharing your experience!

  • you never stop amazing me youre awesome!!

  • i love this look!! its so fast and easy

    thanks koren

  • fabulous vid. Everyday Mineral is going to come out with a pressed powder foundation. FINALLY!

  • Great one Enkore!!

Do you tweeze or wax your eyebrows? Their gorgeous!

  • hey Pinkbabii - luckily I dont have to tweeze much, I do a couple ones here and there in the inner brow just to make sure my brow starts aligned with my inner tearduct.

  • Yay ! As usual i loveeee it :)

  • Hello my fellow A.S.! It's my birthday today. Woohooooooo!!!!

Great tutorial... as always... and I'm so jealous of your eyebrows.
