This Sahakyants piece of s*** is completely lying about Grigor Artsruni's opinions about Western Armenia. This guy is a scumbag who cannot read Armenian, but who is pretending to have read Artsruni. Artsruni was perhaps the main contact point between Tiflis and western Armenia and was a founder of the Armenakan movement. This moron does not know crap. He is a paid agent, Russianized piece of crap.
To those who ask why Sahakytanst only speaks in Russian, he already expressed his disdain for the Armenian language, culture, alphabet, from the beginning!
Good Lord! How much can Sahakyants show that he is an ignoramous and a lying piece of s***? It's like listening to a science fiction writer weave a "history" by projecting his own fantasies onto Armenian history. He has not idea what the hell he is talking about!
Bleyan is a mongrel and liar. He is indeed, along with Sahakyants, working for Turkish interests. I wonder how much their bank accounts are benefitting from selling out Armenian history and interests.
Chem haskanum, its the 4th debate yev hela es sahakyantz eli russerena xosum meqa togh asi hay es hayeren xosa..

This whole thing is so incredibly bizzare it's actually surreal! Here we have (or are supposed to have) a serious show about a most critical issue in Armenia yet the two Armenia TV anchormen running the show hardly know anything either about the subject or how to chair the programme. The result is that apart from the political analyst (Armen Aivazian) the other two are talking about all sorts of things hardly related to the subject and are hardly ever stopped!
Though the Armenian economy has been improving, IMO if the blockade continues, it will reach its maximum potential and level out. Both Iran and Georgia are unstable neighbors and opening borders with Turkey will allow access to the black sea ports, hence the european market. So I think it will do more good than bad. Sure no one wants Turkish goods in Armenia, but I read a report that turkish goods have already flooded armenian through Georgia.
Imagine we surrender Karabakh and Armenia gets another 120000 refugees, will this help economy? Does this guarantee lifting the blockade? Nope. As I said earlier: Turks want us to: a. surrender Artsakh; b. forget Genocide; c. ratify Kars treaty. After that you still have no guarantee you won't be blockaded. For example they can demand us to give up Meghry (this has been articulated by Turks many times).
Good points, however, refusing to cooperate with groups like OSCE and refusing to make any compromise will eventually lead to more isolation. The question is, will time be for Armenia or against Armenia. Azerbaijan oil revenues are begining to strengthen its economy and are furthuring the gap between the two countries. Our negotiating position can weaken as time passes.
> refusing to make any compromise will eventually lead to more isolation |||
Theoretically. In reality Azerbaijani Turks refuse ANY compromises, yet it is their stand that is supported. So it's rather about the unprofessionalism of Armenian diplomats, than about pressure from OSCE.
If we continue declaring about our readiness to surrender liberated lands, it will.
> Azerbaijan oil revenues are begining to strengthen its economy...
Back in 1990 Azerbaijanis had way more arms and much larger army, but they lost. The most important thing is whether we are really ready to fight back. All these talks about "compromises" destroy the willingnes to resist. And Azerbaijani propaganda machine contributes a lot to this talks.
A question to you all. Suppose Azerbaijan offers to grant Karabakh autonomy in exchange for Armenia to return all the surrounding provinces to Azerbaijan. Should Armenia accept? Note that this acceptance would make it very easy for Azerbaijan to attack karbakh in the future and cut it off from Armenia. But then again the blockade will be lifted and the economy will improve drastically. Whats your take on it?
turbobro9, > Should Armenia accept? ||| Good question. 1. If we surrender the liberated territory (which is historically Armenian, check Samvel Karapetyan's videos posted by me earlier this year), we will need 5-6 times more human resources to protect Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, not to say about building all the defense communications and fortifications again.
2. What can prevent Azerbaijan from attacking us after such strategic gains achieved without a single bullet fired? 'International guarantees' from some corrupted organizations like UN and OSCE worth nothing in such cases.
3. It's not clear whether opening border will do us good or harm. Consider the drastically increased flow of cheap Turkish goods into Armenian markets, Turkish investments into our economy, etc. Also, Turkey will not lift blockade just for our concessions in Artsakh. They also demand to dismiss the "genocide claims", to ratify Kars treaty, God knows what else they will come up with: the more you surrender, the more they demand.
ohh man, if thats the case, then our country is in a very sad state. These guys are supose to be intellectuals. I know though that the guy in the white shirt is very logical with his answers. Ive heard him speak many times.

It's already VERY weak. Azerbaijanis attack, and we are just refuting these attacks, which can't continue forever.
