  • flash sucks

  • @tuxsbro meh

  • @tuxsbro It really doesn't such as much as it used to though.

To be honest, I think flash works better in Linux than Windows now.

For only a year ago or so, flash was pretty much useless in Linux. It was so buggy and lagging all the time.

Flash started to become better when google chrome started to become popular.

  • @blackoutworm For me flash works worst in Linux than in Windows.

  • @scorici Not really any more , I really like flash for 64bit linux , works really well.

  • @RandomMalcolm For your information 64bit version is not on par with 32bit. It's not even the same code although the version number is the same. In next release it is expected for those two versions to get on same code base but even then Flash is not optimized. Simple test for that is to get any flash game or something that can give you FPS. If you run it in Windows it takes 60% less CPU with higher FPS and Winblows is not lighter than Linux.

  • @TheMeanEYE All that is nice but coming from my own experience I have had less issues with flash 64 bit than 32 bit.

  • @RandomMalcolm I can't really say anything about issues. I gave up developing in Flash long time ago. I just know that Linux version in general is not optimized like Windows version is. :) You are probably right about 64bit being more stable. Now that you mentioned it my experience matches yours. Weird, but that only goes to say about Adobe programmers. :D

  • @TheMeanEYE

I havent noticed any performance loss when i compass windows 7 64 with flash 64 on chrome than ubuntu 10.04 64 with 64bit flash and chrome.

  • Cool
