Great video, thanks. I'm in my late 50's and just getting into green wood working (better late than never...!) so i'm soaking up all of the you tube stuff on green woodworking and tools right now :-)
Very much appreciated to have someone take time to share thorough and helpful information with the world. Thanks for doing this, keep up the great work!
@bluestainwattle Coolio. Keep up the good work. The way things are going I reckon we are going to need to recover as many skills as possible if we are going to survive.
@zekehooper I use spring steel. I forge the socket & weld it with a Stainless, dissimilar metals rod. I dont harden the froe edge I just return the spring through retempering. I have done a video about tempering.
I know 3 women in Teresopolis, Brazil, who are victims of a mudslide last January. They are living in the woods and at a Catholic church. They nearly died in a river of mud and boulders. I am sending them videos like yours to help them make things for themselves, but also to give them some ideas for a small business to earn some money. Teresopolis is a forested mountainous area north of Rio de Janeiro. You knowledge and skills are priceless. Thanks for your unselfishness to do these.
As someone looking to get out of the rat race - this information is not only useful but inspirational. You never do know who your words may reach! *Appreciative in TX USA
Thanks for the nice comments. i will put some more stuff up on the tube soon now that things are brightening up again. Long wet winters are not very inspirational.
good stuff !.... i feel that the "big knife" crowd snuffed out the importance of the axe, which is my favorite tool now that i got one of good quality.
@hobbexp Hi Fredde, I'm gona do everything I can to forward a bit of traffic his way, favourite his vids, mention him on my site & twitter, maybe you might do the same?
