  • I'm pretty sure that John Wayne is just squinting to give him the appearance of an Asian. Beautiful stuff.

  • Worst movie ever made. It is so bad that 91 of the 220 cast and crew members in the film got cancer from it.

  • John Wayne as Genghis Khan?!

*falls on floor laughing till it is impossible to breath*

  • The racists in Hollywood didn't want to hire real Mongols so they put white actors there instead. Anyone surprised?

  • @danielmountain their still doing it now. In the movie "21" the university students were predominantly of Asian decent, yet in the movie you guessed it white guys :)

  • this film killed 46 cast members, all from cancer...

  • While you watch this video, keep in mind, radiation fallout was falling from the sky as they filmed this movie right on top of them, poisoning them.

The US did a above ground nuclear blast and the radiation blast blew downwind right in the direction of the set they were filming.

All the actors you see in this video all died of cancer due to the nuclear radiation contamination falling on them as they filmed.

    Believe it or not!

  • John Wayne was never that versatile of an actor, he should have stuck to Westerns and war movies.

  • Oh John Wayne, you're a great guy and everything and I really like you in your westerns and war movies but why oh why did you insist on being the lead in this movie?

  • She is the daughter of Cumlick.

  • LMAO, I didn't know woman in those days looked like women from the 40's in American cultural society. And who figured, the daughter of a Mongolian rival was a Caucasian woman with red brownish hair. And wow, they were so refined and feminine, I guess those Chinese accounts on Mongolian women being rugged and robust were false.

  • Wayne should have never worked again after this performance. Worst actor ever!

  • What a horrible Asian casting mess..... was this movie somehow also from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan?

  • Well, this lil' opus wasn't a total waste. The Duke could always use his helmet as a can opener. I can't believe this was ever made. Opulent production values, but the dialouge is on the level of a "Bowery Boys" effort! How could John Wayne have let himself be talked into something like this? It seems the more money RKO owner Howard Hughes threw at a production the worse it was! The viewer doesn't know whether to laugh at the ineptness or pity the waste of money!

  • @JubalCalif John Wayne didn't need to be talked into this role, he actively pursued it! lol, maybe he was really, really baked at the time?

  • @impressioned

Indeed! You are right; I've read he was in director Dick Powell's office at RKO, saw the script & (as you noted) pursued the role! Didn't have to be "talked into it" at all. Ha...perhaps he was baked at the time! THANKS for the droll comment...you've MADE my day & my week! CHEERS! :-)

  • @JubalCalif Hahaha, no worries mate, I thought it was pretty hilarious as well...

  • I love it! Could you imagine if the REAL Genghis talked like that? His people would be like W.T.F.

  • John Wayne must be the worst actor in history. You can't even call it miscasting, he acted like that in every movie he was ever in.

  • Tries so hard to be an 'epic', just seems ridiculous.

  • That's one american Genghis Khan. Ugh...

  • john wayne is so miscast in this movie it's ridiculous! he was much better than that.

  • UTAH ATOMIC TEST AREA

  • @lepricoun The army atomic test area was at Yucca Flats, Nevada. Fallout dust from the 11 bombs tested there before 1953 had drifted downwind to Snow Canyon, Utah, where a lot of The Conqueror was shot and they were exposed for 13 weeks. Of 220 people, 91 got cancer (3x normal statistic) &46 died of it, including the Duke, S. Hayward, A. Moorehead, & director Dick Powell.

Thirty years later HALF (!!) of nearby St. George had contracted cancer!! Oddly, SG's tourist info doesn't mention this.

  • @ChosunOne302 thanks for xour poasting

  • Well, at least they had authentic 12th century hair and makeup.

  • Makes you wonder why they didnt cast jimmy stewart too ?

  • Ah i love how they try to pass her off as mongolian xD

  • This was filmed near a nuclear test site in arizona, directed by Howard Hughes, apparently 90 of the 200 cast later died from radiation exposure. . .

  • thanks reddit

  • Lil Gengis Wayne would be more timely

  • best genghis khan EVER

  • Can't believe I'm typing this but, the Governator delivered better acting chops in Conan the Barbarian...Duke !

  • what is the name of this moive? I want watch it.

  • It is called "The Conquerer"

  • Oh, my gosh. The acting ... This is bad. It's awful! But in just the right way!

Let your slaves rape her, son!

No, ma, I'm gonna rape her.

    ROFL!

  • @akiratubo This film was on a huge epic scale way before CGI computers, but wayne has very limited acting skills

  • The saying "If you want to live long like Chinggis khaan! Listen to your mother" is TRUE! LOL

  • John Wayne ,Susan Hayward and Agnes Moorehead as Asians , that is just too funny, a total camp classic

  • I watched it once, historically is pointless. But a great B-Movie by a a better than average cast. By the way, John Wayne and other members of the cast were said to be victims of the nuclear remnants of the cold war era weapons testing on the site of the film shoot.

  • Apparently 90 people died.

  • @Quetez23 from watching this awful movie?

  • I just heard about this movie. It seems what they say must be true! What a laugh. Thanks for posting. And by the way, you got great quality in your transfer... what do you use to rip DVDs (or VHF?)? Works great...
