  • really good

  • check 0:10...Bolans left testical is terribly swollen, he shoulda got that checked out or risk death...oh wait... he did die a week later...my bad...n/m

  • @leonakita Dick

  • "Walking Through That Door" is a track written by Marc Bolan actually titled "Lovin' You" produced for Richard Jones (Gloria Jones' brother) unreleased album, recorded at MRI Studios, Hollywood on January 5, 1976. This is a Bolan backing track often miscredited to David Bowie and Marc Bolan. There is no Bowie on this cut as far as I could find out.

  • david bowie is not on this,i asked richard back in 2000, i was an old friend of richard jones, who sang on this, but this is the instrumental version, on backing vocals are gloria, richard and marc, ...

  • @vinnyroxx his real name is david jones .... the same name of the monkeys lead singer aslo a limey. "bowie" Bolan John (elton) were all bed fellows throw a couple of orgies in there ... add like richards, clapton, page, and the like , love the music ... love that they are Euro and not so hung up on what people do to get off.

  • David Bowie was a huge Syd Barrett fan, and Marc Bolan married June Child-Bolan. June worked as secretary-help mate to The Pink Floyd in their early Barrett days.

  • This eery series, and I thought the same at the time, was being broadcast around 4.30pm ish (kids tv time). I never quite understood it. Then Bolan died just over a week later. This brings me to Bolan's interview with Harty where he cringes at the thought of old age and sadly predicts his early death. Some serious shit going on me thinks !!

  • Have you seen my 'The Road I'm On (Gloria)' vid?

  • @mashamorgan ... yeah a drunk driving girlfriend smashed his ass into a tree.

  • @mashamorgan gloria, his mistress, had an unfortunate car accident that was a tragic event for everyone involved. they were so close to home and instead Marc was killed.

  • What a great little song! Did Bolan write it?I never thought much of his songs after 73'-but this is great..Thanks for posting :)

  • who's brother? did Marc help.

  • So, he helped her brother too? He certainly deserves a special star in the universe.

  • i remeber coming home from work ut tv on and there was marc and then bowie i nealy passed out just fantastic

  • if bolan had lived i think those two would have written and sung a couple of songs together.

  • Most definately as standing next to you was one of the songs being worked on.

This track though was for a Richard Jones track and it's not got Bowie on it and walking through that door isn't the title.

  • Whoopsy.. oh well, at least it's a nice rumor.

  • bolan plays guitar on the prettiest star off the aladdin sane album.

black country rock from tmwstw album is a nod to bolans vocals from bowie

  • Marc Bolan played guitar on the original,"Prettiest Star",single for David Bowie but the "Aladdin Sane" track is Mick Ronsons, virtually, note for note version of Marcs playing.Very good it is too!

  • Yes, a rumor.

    Seems we know better now:

Nothing to do with Bowie at all!

    -------------------------------------------

This is the working version back-up for a song Marc prodced for Richard Jones (brother to Gloria).

The full finished version will be found on CD "Marc Bolan's Pure Magic". The song is titled "LOVIN' YOU", laid down at MRI Studios Hollywood, 5th Jan 1976.

  • So, mystery solved! Thanks--

  • @TerraplaneTommy Thanks for the clue to the whereabouts of this track. I've had it on my iTunes for a long time and knew all the Jones' and not Bowie info, but had no home for it. Now the cover is placed so neatly where it belongs. I don't understand how things get so mismarked and misplaced on YouTube, Frostwire and all. It just takes a little simple reading or research before entering your information. Thanks again, it means a lot to me and I'm sure to others.

  • I think I've got mixed up with the track standing next to me, no wonder I thought it was different, silly me !!

  • First time I have ever heard the demo. The live version, well what they played of it, on the Marc show sounded very different. I always thought that series was quite eerie, a top rock star doing a kids Teatime show. RIP Marc !!

  • Honey

    you NEVER

cease to surprise me and Bolan fans (that might never have heard these recordings)

I smile I think this demo just shows/proves what they were capable of doing Gloria is actually singing in a most touching waye like her old solo rexords a TREAT
