Alzugam is correct. The Russian film adaptation was terrific. Too bad the same can't be said for this. I saw it last night and my only thought as the credits rolled was "That's 99 minutes I'll never get back." The praise for Danny Huston - at least in terms of this film - is totally lost on me. I found him to be all but unwatchable in this role. Thirty minutes in to the film, his character's incessant, intrusive narration had killed what little interest I had left. Don't waste your time on this.
The Russians made a wonderful movie based on this Tolstoy's story starring Oleg Yankovski (who passed away recently). The movie is amazing (one of my favorite movies of all times). It's a pitty that it is not known in the West.
Okay, I have a comment. A question, actually. When will this film be released? I'm understandably curious about it and wish to obtain a copy as soon as possible. Thanks.
I could sense this and it scared me. They played Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata. My imagination began to paint for me. Rapid sequence of pictures, the more I contemplated these pictures, the more I believed they were real. I've been told a lie, all of us. We've been told sex is good, sex is fun, sex is what you need. Look into my soul the devils tearing it apart, now tell me it's all so wonderful".
You know the way it happens sometimes it's like an electric shock goes through you and you wake up. My head was full of thoughts about her, about him. The violinist. This man's presence drove me out of my mind. I should have made sure I never set eyes on him again. But that was like saying I was afraid of him so I introduced him to my wife. She had grown as pretty as the last ray of summer. She was 35 years old and the full flower of her womanhood.

She's sooooo lucky to play Danny Huston's wife. I think he deserves more credit for his work! Danny should be called a star and never a co-star!
He's so awesome. I made a fansite for him on Myspace. (No, I'm not a stalker! Lol.)
I just think he's wickedly handsome and needs WAY MORE credit for his acting skills.
