me and my brother in law never use calls. I killed a 9 point and he killed a big ten last year. We always find a deer trail that gets walked a lot sit down and shut up. Patience is the key to killing the big bucks.

Agreed. I hunt 100% traditional. Recurve, or Hawken Rifle. I use no scents, and no stands. I stalk Whitetails in the Mountains of Western Virginia, and play the wind. I think all these revolutionary products make things too easy and not as nostalgic!

Excellent advise, I am a pro deer tracker. I own my own land, and feed deer to it. I then take paying customers on guides there and help them shoot nice deer! I can tell you deer calls are pointless!
How do you know they dont work, are you a deer, do you have cootn tails, do you have hooved feet. To shhot a deer you must think like a deer. By putting myself in position of knowing what and how a deer thinks, I am 100% sure that deer calls do work. I have actually had full conversations with deers, using only deer calls!

I don't know man. I've never used a call, but I once found a pair of antlers on a watch, I lightly banged them against a tree once or twice and discarded them. 10 minutes later I heard what sounded like a gorrilla "Uh uh uh"-ing at me from behind a tag alder swamp.
By taking a pair of antlers and banging them together in the properly 1, followed by 2, and then proceeding to 3 fashion, you are more likely to have success bringing in that big buck. Again, proper technique along with wind velocity and luminar air flow, will gain you much more success. Deer hunting is almost a science. Many people just want to go out there and shoot em'. This is just not going to give you a high success rate of pulling in a big buck based on using the KRT theory.

I am a 20 year, highly trained deer calling expert. To be a effective hunter one MUST learn the proper technique of the deer calls. This is based on years of studys. Deer calling and the art of stealth are both a must. With these 2 abilitys, it is possible to get within 10 feet of the deer to make your shot. Of course, providing wind velocity and luminar flow is moving in the right direction.
I have killed over 100 deer with a bow. More than one half of them were called in to the shot. My grunt call was camo colored a few years ago. Now its all worn off and its the same color all over. It reall works for me!!!

LOL! For some, yeah. I have good luck with rattling in the rut with doe estrus urine on my boots and upwind from me. The bucks seem to always come in pissed off from downwind.
Being quiet is probably the best bet for anytime other than the rut.
