as a ref, the more i see of this, the more i get upset with a team to try this stunt and then to high five about it, i therefore start with yellow and red card together starting with the setter, then the high five player, i would probably go to the coach also. i would also go to all players on the court. i hope the team has enough player in reserve cause by the time i get done. they will have to forfiet the rest of their matchs, then a report sent to usav, on that club values. done deal

the weak side refers to the blocking defense. They call it the weak side becuase the blockers have a tendency to cheat to the outside becuase the set goes there more than anywhere else. Its not becuase the hitters there aren't as good. Hah.

The reason that it is calles the weak side is because setters have the tendency to set the outside more than the opposite. This could be because they are more comfortable setting the four, or for other reasons. This means that the blockers will be anticipating the set to the outside, thus leaving the opposite with a wide open court. If you can set a "red" then there will usually only be a solo block on the opposites side. The weak side refers to the defense's blocking. Hah.

i don't think the names of the court sides depend on how hard you hit the ball. they only call it weak side because it's harder for right hand players to attack on the 'weak side'

That ref is so horrible. There were two things wrong with that. First of all the double hit. secondly, the setter was back row so even if he did want to hit the ball, it had to have been before the attack line.

@malton3333 i agree with you. i'm 13 and i play volleyball. that is such an obvious double hit and that ref needs to take another class in reffing if he was to not call that point to the opposite team. me and my team and ref better than that and i'm not even a certified referee, I am a scorekeeper. i agree it's a good hit by the setter but it is illegal to do that, so it shouldn't count.

@souljaboymate He faked the spike ... You can do that, as long as you don't touch the ball 3x per side. Faking a spike is a technique now used today to offset the other team to pretend the ball is going one way, then the spiker comes in and spikes the ball where there is an opening. Thats the general way, its all in teamwork and communication with one another

Ive heard about this move, and it can be hard to see who is hitting!! The ref does not look at the faces when he is calling the game! - But the setter is in back row, so he is not aloud to hit the ball. The ref can see that even afterwards and change his call!
