Maybe that was one of the reasons I got soured to this game 6 years ago: I tried to start with Judy. Got to a haunted house or whatever and got too fed up to continue. Then my house got broken into and it was stolen, along with other games. Needless to say, I was more interested in getting SO2, Valkyrie Profile and Windwaker back than this.

I remember playing this when it in either blockbuster or Video Entertainment. I never did beat it. It vanished from the selves soon after and I never found out why.

the one thing i hate about this game is that it has no tutorial. the only way to figure out how to play is by reading the little booklet that comes with the came or the devil's luck.

I'v been playing RPG sence I was 6 and now I'm 21 and I got to say that this little gem is one of the hardest and most confusing I'v every pulled out of the rough, if any fans of rpgs needs a rest from most traditional rpgs play this.

I really liked the mechanics in this game. I think if I played it now that I'm older, I would understand it more

I just wish it wasn't so harsh with everything lol I remember always failing with traps/chests. everything! Guh!

I reeeally love this game! Romancing Saga and Unlimited Saga are awesome games!

I ordered both of those at the same time,and I must say that I fell in love with them.

If you are I commend you, this game is no easy task. I only played it briefly years ago, but I remember the hardness. Maybe I'll buy it again someday, I cant wait to give it another chance.

I wouldn't call it gameplay flaws, I think the design of this game is actually pretty good.

I think the problem is in the learning curve and so many hidden game aspects. you won't know what you're doing most of the time unless you read a guide thoroughly.

yeah but eventuelly I learned everything and I kept doing the same thing every fight.

I like the game, I really did, I simply didn't like how EASY the game is once you get the hang of it. You know how strong a boss will be, you know what strategy you need to use and how to pull it off.

This game always have new challenges and lots of hidden gems. Trying to blend High level magic, for example, is among the hardest and rewarding things you can do.

Oh, and I DARE you to say that Mythe's Final Boss isn't hard.

OH that Final Boss.... agreed, but I mean that even with Mythe, you can level your characters so much and forge some awesome weapons for them so it stops being so impossible

Straight Right! The mechanics of this game are so status-specific that it effectively becomes a computer generated-way-classical table-top RPG. Talk about retro. Even D&D (on paper) does not give you the many headaches USaga provokes. You are one hell of a Zen-monk for nailing down all details, and even more imprsive: You made a Walkthrough of it!

If i may ask are the backgrounds of this game also hand drawn in sprites are is there some 3d modelling

The only bits of 3D modeling in this game are the backgrounds in battles.

The rest are either Sprites (characters, Quest areas and items) or Hand-drawn images (Towns, and Area Pictures ).

I'm actually a 2D sprite freak and I'd love to see the day that all hand drawn art could be taken to 3D some how.

Obviously this uses Adobe afterworks, I wonder how far they could push it with just sprite effects.

Great game. I love this game but it's true what you said, I've made the mistakes you mention but it didn't turn me off it actually made me more interested in learning how the game worked which is really complicated compared to simplier RPGs like final fantasy. The Saga series are always a great challenge which is why I prefer them over the more mainstream RPGs

Yeah this game sounds/looks complicated which is most likely the reason so many people (like you said, especially FF fanboys who bought the game for the FF X-2 preview) were turned off and said it sucked.

But then again, I'm not the greatest one to talk about Unlimited Saga especially since I've never played it (but I do own it though ..)

Also, I'll be watching the rest of the LP. Good job on the video.
