Then it came out later that she never even hoisted her rifle. Sometimes they create a hero of convenience. Being captured is not heroic. It's not a bad thing, but it's not heroic. That's war. She's actually lucky to have survived at all. If anyone was heroic, it was the guys who went in to rescue her.

what they do not tell you is how her First Sergeant had to return fire and shield her from enemy fire. Also what they do not tell you is that on multiple occasions the named Pfc did not follow direct commanded orders to clean her weapon...which-you guessed it...jammed. This is why he is in a grave and she got the million dollar book deal and movie deals. I say she needs to go to Ft Leavenworth for not following a direct orders/ Deriliction of duty and serve hard time.

It's sad to say this, but I can lo longer hold my tounge. I feel I can say this and know that I'm correct. Jessica Lynch's NCOs were fucked up. If they weren't then her weapon would have been clean and it wouldn't have malfunctioned. If an M-16 is kept clean it will work. If it's dirty it wont. And an NCOs job is to ensure that thier soldiers and thier equipment are ready for combat. Her NCOs failed, and they paid for it with thier lives. And so did thier soldiers. And that is sad.

The film also gives a disclaimer that some names were changed and some facts were changed too. I can't see a big problem. She was on the mission and she deserves respect, no matter if she shoot or not. On the other hand journalists are often inaccurate, not surprising.

I don't like to throw a dark comment on this, but the story in the media was that she fought bravely, shooting her way through the mess till the final end and capture. Then it came out later that she never even hoisted her rifle. Sometimes they create a hero of convenience. Being captured is not heroic. It's not a bad thing, but it's not heroic. That's war. She's actually lucky to have survived at all. If anyone was heroic, it was the guys who went in to rescue her.

Korea isn't led by "some crazy punk who hates all but asians", North Korea is. The US led United Nations force was successful in repelling KPA and PLA forces from South Korea, and even were able to mount a stalemated incursion into North Korea.
It is because of the U.S. that South Korea was allowed to continue to be a Democratic nation, and they have since THRIVED economically.
Ask a South Korean war veteran if US forces made a difference.
