I prefer the non-vocal version. I think part of the problem with this version is the vocals just aren't up to par with the production of the music. Perhaps a better vocalist would make this version work.
This song lets me remember my vacation trip because I heard the song in my hotel and because of Shazam for iPad I know that this song is "Slip into something"
Personally i love the vocal version best though the track wasnt initially made for vocals you can tell the mix took a beating when it was used for them. The original is so clean and it sounds like ben and the other dude just took the original track eddited it and dropped vocals on top making it sometimes illegible. There are copies of the vocal track that can be found on Supperclubs La Salle Neige album #3, and DJ RIver' Red Album from 2006 that you can get free from his site. n-jOy!!! :D
Thankyou very much for this upload. For ages I have been trying to seek out the version with vocals, but was always presented with the instrumental version. I was beginning to think this version didn't exist and I was just imagining it all those years ago when I first heard it on the radio and it captivated me.
Wonderful song. But you may as well put the CD on and look at the album cover as bother downloading this. Couldn't Kinobe come up with something a little more imaginative?
Interesting comment. I've been listening to Chillout music via Internet radio for a couple years and I still don't know what the essence of it is. But I can understand how someone who heard the non-vocal version first might consider the vocals distracting. And how someone who heard the vocal version first might consider the non-vocal version lacking.
This is one of the most hypnotic and dreamy things I've ever heard.

try this silence out for size
burn a hole between your eyes
where the ocean tongued the land
drew a circle, hit the sand
let it drizzle through my hands
no more sleeping on the roof
Sang Thip eyed and bottle bruised
slip into something and burn

I've listened to this without the vocal, and it's stunning, but with it, it's so beautiful. Much thanks for sharing.

Beautiful tune but I'm afraid, for me, the vocal detracts from the essence of chill? :-(

Spot on there I think. It's like pouring water into a glass, if it went sideways it wouldn't be right but if it always went sideways?
btw, Chillout isn't something you know, its something you experience. ;-)
