  • somehow i feel that this song has inspired early Megadeth. intro somehow sounds like Good Mourning/Black Friday.

  • love frikken anvil!!!

  • Also, this is the greatest speed metal song ever written!

  • This was originally on Attic, not Roadrunner... RoadRunner is the re release.

  • Great Song..

  • there should be a big five of metal... you alredy know the other band that should be there

  • I love this Anvil track. thanks for the upload. :)

  • One of the BEST Rebellion-Metal-Song ever made on this World!!!!!

  • thank you anvil for being so inspiring and true to what you love! and this song perfectly says it all

  • Shit recording. Goddamn, how did they get this fucked on recording? Metal on Metal sounded great, this sounds like shit. Someone seriously fell through on this one.

  • @ih8makinusernames The recoding itself wasn't too bad, it's the upload that sounds like shit here.

  • @theraj662 Well and also at this time CT got dumped and completely lost focus with this album. So yes this upload quality was bad, but the album quality itself wasn't as good as Metal on Metal was either.

  • @ih8makinusernames I am inclined to disagree. I find Forged In Fire to be both their best album in terms of production and in terms of music!

  • que voz mas brutal

  • This song is as classical as ''The Number Of The Beast'', ''Breaking The Law'', ''Balls To The Wal'', ''Ace Of Spades'', ''Denim And Leather'' and so on and so on...

  • This is why Anvil never made good success, they are too good to master in the real world and because they try really fucking much to make success but that never happends. But what they do is that they make really good music like this and that is what keeps me listening to Anvil. If they were to make success i think they wouldn't be putting so much heart, soul and effort into the music and that is why they are not made to make success. I love anvil.

  • WICKED TUNE...\m/\m/

  • ...Great Song from their Greatest album...awesome lyrics that show exactly how everybody should be...Lips, Robb, Ian and Dave..great days, great Memories..:-))

  • best song lyrics ever imo

  • Fuck YEAH! Lips shreds the hell out of that solo. Its beautiful. Almost brings a tear to my eye.

  • i'm glad i knew about this band before the movie

  • My favorite album

  • fucking sick intro

  • Great Song!!!!!!! True Real Fucking Metal!!!!!

  • Anvil was never under rated up here in the North Country... We always loves our Anvil.

  • I love this song, makes me remind me as a youngster...in the beginning of the 80:s...and I remember this song. Very well.

  • anvil r sounding like 1 of the best bands round 4 sure!!!!!

  • Man... Lips and Rob and Anvil are some of the most under-rated musicians of all time.

  • Most underrated Anvil song without a doubt

  • friggen, awesomeeeeeee song

  • fantastic song

  • Muy buen metal

  • 2 people clicked on the dislike button, hopefully be accident...

  • metallica copied because i found out they came out before metallica!

well now fuk metallica! anvil rocks!

  • @ayohi umm metallica was influenced by anvil but they didnt copy them..?

  • @hoikevinhoi The big 4 of thrash was influenced by Anvil, Robb's drumming is thrash

  • @ayohi dumbass how metallica copied them?? sure metallica got influences from anvil and its totally okay you idiot. everyone gets influences somewhere

  • @guitarismysword1 u fucking retard u have no clue what ur talking about,

ur not supposed to have any band influence, its called poser. ur supposed to write what u feel at the moment. not copy music. nirvana made its own genre by what kurt cobain felt, not by influence.dipshit. dopnt yell out insults if u know ur wrong.

  • @ayohi sorry but you cant avoid being influnenced. always when you listen to music you are taking influences you dumbass. having influences isnt synonymous with copying. did cobain take influences from punk did he. no he didnt. he just came up with powerchords that had been invented 30 years earlier

  • Fuckin classic man. This band will live on forever in my immortal soul.

  • This band is pretty damn good, very surprised they never made it big. I heard little pieces on previews of their documentary commercial so had to see what they sounded like through a whole song. Definitely a good band!

  • omg great soloing!! :) way better than that metal on metal shitty song ! go Anvil

  • I am not into metal but man Lipps and Robb can play.

  • killer stuff man!!

  • this will be my first tatoo free as the wind above the anvil logo

  • fucking amazing riffage

  • Anvil are fucking gods, definetly one of the best bands ever.

  • Goddamn, this song and album is an underrated masterpiece.

  • love the Lo-Fi quality.

  • great thanks!!!

  • EVERYONE just listen this a great production from Chris Tsangarides. Thats is it money ran out got married kids whatever....the guys still played great tunes in the 90s now they have that chance to shine don't rain on their parade now they play a better live show than your typical get laid college band and without machines! its all good metal

  • this song is great! the best metal song! ever!!!

  • WHY NOT

  • thanks for posting it!!

  • finally this guy use good the voice not like metal on metal is good but is like strange like coke and bananas or meat with scream xd

  • haha wtf?

  • @colombiano4420 yeah dude, the sausage falsetto is gooder than the pork chop legato in the circus of your mind...

  • Lol what the fuck?

  • ay parce, que frito ese comentario.....pero se entiende clarito.....

que viva la coca y las bananas!!!!

  • @auswitch vete ala mierda perra

  • @colombiano4420 meat with scream...hahaha

  • @colombiano4420 That's why they're unique :P I love their style....

  • @colombiano4420 Uh...Wha?....What?!

  • this song rules that drummer and singer fuckin full blown owns this song

  • I agree SpikeMauler. Especially the intro.

  • what year was their first album

  • Their first album was from 1981

  • ANVIL 4 LIFE

  • Beginning reminds me of Transylvania a little.

  • Metal on metal and Forged in Fire are two classic albums from these Canadian metalheads. Have the vinyl from '82-83.

  • :o nice, make sure u hold on to that vinyl lol, some classic stuff :p

  • will do :)

  • @UrbanThrash got it on vinyl too; ditto for Hard n Heavy & Metal on Metal

  • One of my favorite Anvil songs, I'll put this song on repeat and listen for hours.

  • damn there pretty good

  • this band proves you dont need to be famous to have great music! =D

    the world needs Anvil!

  • @david78887 Anvil for Life!!!!!!! \m/, -_-

  • @david78887 only bad thing is that sound quality isnt the best when you are poor

  • Fucking great.

  • man anvil kick ass no mtter what anyone else thinks they should have sold more albums and became a shit load more famous than they did poor fellas.cant wait to see there movie it shall be the return of the greatest metal band ever and they shall turn the music industry upside down like they did when they stared!

  • Comment removed

  • wow! This song was a little like, old Megadeth meets old Iron Maiden!

  • i was thinkin priest meets maiden

  • minus the good singer

i think they would have been way more popular if they had a better singer and lips would have just stuck to lead guitar

although the vocals on this song are definately some of the best ive heard from anvil

  • now that you mention it thats the impression im getting too

  • man this song is one of the best i've ever heard. so great!!!

  • they never fail to amaze me

  • yeh boy sick band

  • Pure metallic pride!!!

  • DAMN!! i feel free as the wind, every time i hear this song!! ANVIL will live on forever!!

  • Hands down, the solo break on this song is AWESOME!

  • This is also my favorite Anvil song! I am glad they are finally getting the recognition they deserve!

  • Probably one of my all time favorite ANVIL songs...the lead solo that Lips put together here is nothing short of brilliant...to live and party to this back in the 80's were great times...screw all who disagrees

  • This song fuckin smokes...

  • holy shit this kicks MAJOR ass

  • My band"Steele Life" opened up for these guys in AZ. 9 yrs. ago. Good to see them doing so well now with their movie, etc. Very cool guys who treated us great. Rock on guys!!!

  • omg no wonder y they crapped out

  • they just came out with there 16th album "this is thirteen" in 2007

  • still no wonder y they crapped out ive listened to most of there stuff and its not that great

  • Drown in yar momy's shit, you BAS'TERD!!!

  • im telling u man the only about i liked was strength of steel and thats it so far

  • if its not that grate then y did you bother listening to moste of there stuff?

  • well i wonder dumb fuck to see what they had that was good duhhhh

  • Wow I didn't know that these guys were so good!!! I dig their music, coz I was already listening to metal ever since I was a kid. But to tell you the truth this is the first time I've heard of them (not until I saw them on Yahoo). Why didn't they got that much publicity like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath? Where do they hail from? And I bet that these guys from the sound of their music influenced a legion of metalheads. Can somebody please tell me more about them.

  • They're from Canada, Toronto I think. As for publicity I agree they didn't get enough because they were definitely in contention with anything that Priest or Iron Maiden were doing at the time.

  • the vocals sound like sabbra cadabra

  • Long live the anvil!

    Hail from Greece!

  • Anvil Rules! One of best guitar solos ever at 2:45. Fuckin CRANK it up:)

  • because HOLLOWBODY FLYING VEE mit hollow, it be also "free as thee wind" yes?.... OH YES!!!!

  • This song has perfect lyrics and music. Metal for life !

  • I may not be very popular for saying this, but there were far too many bands like Anvil who never got the appreciation they deserved.

It's great that these guys have stuck to it, even if they do (in my opinion) look like old farts who should have moved on but I don't know whether to love them or feel sorry for them.

  • Have resepct for them I guess.....I wish I had the determination and heart they do.

  • I respect them for sticking with their dream and never giving up. Just because you are never filthy rich and successful does not mean you should give up your dream. If everyone gave up their dream when it got tough - the world would not have as much awesomeness.

  • Voivod and Anvil deserves MASSIVE recognition among the "Big Four" it should've been "All the Big Thrash Bands"

  • Anvil aren't Thrash.

  • Power Metal?

  • Power/Heavy.

  • Close enough, but they are fast.

  • Not that fast.

    I like Repulsion :)

  • Sweet. Amazing talent yet so underground.

  • Grindcore fucking GRINDCORE!

  • Brutal Truth, and Dillinger Escape Plan, are my favorites from that section.

  • DEP aren't Grindcore.

And I don't like Brutal Truth, but I can respect them.

    You like Pig Destroyer?

  • Nope, don't like them.

DEP to me, are like half Grindcore/half Math Metal.

  • Oh, I love them.

    DEP to me are Mathcore.

  • I love Brutal Truth.

  • I love Rigor Mortis.

  • I love Voivod.

  • They only have 3 good albums.

  • HA! Bullshit. They have great albums (I don't like their first 2 only) "Voivod" is epic. My favs.

    1. Nothingface

    2. Dimension Hatross

    3. Killing Technology

    4. Phobos

    5. Angel Rat

  • Their first 3 are the only good ones.

  • iyo. IMO, those 5 albums are great. I do miss Piggy's guitar and solos.

  • I miss their Thrash stuff.

  • Their new shit, is like more spacey, (Middle paced Thrash Progressive shit) Ravenous Medicine is a great song, and Snake is funny in that song.

ELECTRIC SHOCK THROUGH YOU! ELECTRIC SHOCK THROUGH YOUUUUUU!!

  • It's Progressive, and sounds awful.

  • Damn, dude, at least for Piggy's sake from his death. I can't believe they still finished the songs, the way he would've loved them to be done.

  • He wouldn't have loved them to sound like that.

  • For their change in music direction he would've. They never went mainstream at all. I mean every album they released sounds very different in style and sound.

  • A lot sound horrible!

  • Well I love Voivod even more for NEVER going mainstream. They have my ultimate respect for staying true to their selves, while still not giving a fuck what anyone thought of their music. That's a band.

  • I know so many bands like that.

  • Me too. Voivod truly had a gift, though, to still love their own music, and progressing their sound into much more deeper, creepier, spacier soundscapes.

  • I like their sound on "Killing Technology."

  • Nothingface is spectacular, and snakes singing was in his most top notch, vocal cord shape. Is he a baritone or soprano?

  • I'm meant "Snake" I need to stop typing really sloppy and fast, lol.

  • Not sure, I don't know vocal ranges.

  • Thanks anyways. Yeah, Killing Technology, Order of the Blackguards, Forgotten In Space and Ravenous Medicine are my favorites off of KT, for Nothingface, the whole album destroys!!

  • "Killing Technology" destroys.

  • Some songs not all. Nothingface was more jazzy, classy, complex, heavier, faster, spacey, and had a great Pink Floyd cover. (Astronomy Domine, one of my favorites)

  • That was their only album I liked all of it.

I didn't like that one, any of their Progressive stuff to me just wasn't good.

  • Killing Technology was like psycho thrash, with lots or progression. (The ending to Killing Technology and the chorus is out of time very, off kilter.) (The kickass sludge intro to Ravenous Medicine I think is in 5/4)

  • i need 2 get this album

  • The song is really good. Sadly, the recording sucks big time. Sadly.

  • i'm not trying to spam

just trying to praise anvil in every anvil youtube post

  • LONG LIVE THE ANVIL!!!

  • anvil has always ruled long before eddie trunk, vh1 and here today gone tomorrow types found out about em on the telly.

one of the originators of aggressive metal and

always stuck to their guns rain or shine!

  • stop spamming

  • I am new to these guys they didn't do to well and i feel bad.

  • same lol

  • music sounds just like early 80 iron maiden, 1st and second lp's

  • Damn... the recording is terrible! Kinda makes me understand why they didn't make it...

  • Actually for us fans, the rawness of ther music is truly what makes the guys awesome. Go see them live, they kill!!

  • The origional recording is not this bad, it's the upload that sounds so bad.

  • its sad how good these guys are but like it said in the previews crappy production, crappy management....i cant believe they couldnt catch a break until now

  • shred those glam bands anvil rules.

  • This song fuckin smokes!

  • I'd give my left nut to be one of the five dudes in the crowd at an Anvil show. F@%$, I'd give both nuts AND one of the five dudes' nuts. I'm just not sure who to give them to. Any takers?

  • fuck! what a WICKED song! been needing to get more Anvil for a while now.

  • This is nice.

Why had I NEVER heard of these guys(before seeing trailers for their movie at least). That riff is amazing, very Maiden like, so melodic and badass at the same time.

  • I was probably twelve or thirteen when I discovered "music". I was fortunate enough to live near the studio where Anvil practiced and was drawn to the studio by the crazy sounds coming out of it!! A couple of skids turned on their sides allowed me and a couple of friends to peek through the windows, witnessing the single most defining moment of my musical career! ANVIL LIVE!! I've crushed cars with "animal" and have played guitar ever since. Thx 4 lvn music and thanks more for sharing!!!

  • there is a rumor these guys might go on tour with metallica

  • Anvil will be opening for Priest and Whitesnake in North America this summer. Metallica would never take out an old school metal band. Lars has even said that in interviews.

  • Really? Their gonna tour with priest this summer?

I better start saving up then! ahaha

  • They will be? Do you have a link to that info? I would love to know if they are gonna be in St.. Louis.
