I made a trial and was working on getting some box around that area, I found 2 white dyes that dropped, almost sold em but i figured mabyelater id see what they are used for, I continued in the story line and found out i could sell em to a dye vendor for 1.5k g a piece =) i was so happy...lol but then i realized its only a trial so i couldnt keep my new found wealth T.T

i farmed them to as ranger with 4 or 5 skills, and i never had one single dye.

On my W/R i did this about 40-50 times and got no dyes. It's really not that amazing and dyes are not as common as people think they are

That's fair enough, but there are far more bandits that spawn thanks to Protection Prayers, if I remember it correctly. I certainly got 1 or 2 dyes per run when I was farming Worn Belts for Nicholas Sandford.

The one with the assassin is the worst one in all of them but if you want it, it is Guild Wars Factions. The difference is: the all have a different story line. Also different professions (sort of).

Guild Wars (more precisely Guild Wars Prophecies) has only 6 professions, Worrior, Ranger, Monk, Necromencer, Mesmer and Elementalist. Factions has two extra proffesions: Assassin and Ritualist. Nightfall Does not have Assassin or Ritualist but it has Dervish and Paragon.

You need the quest Protection Prayers active aswell otherwise your wasting your time, the fire starter foes don't scatter near you making it impossible to farm them using SoW, Fire Storm and Cyclone Axe.

Dye drop rates are doubled, people don't usually see this for their first time in Pre-Searing; but after people discovered the drop rate they started to make effective, fast builds to farm foes to get rich quickly.

After getting dye drops that they wanted, they could go to Post-Searing and transfer all their dyes to another character to sell them.

No, dye drop rates are the same throughout the entirety of all three games. It is simply due to the fact that people travel alone in Pre-Searing much more than in Post-Searing that the drop rate SEEMS higher in Pre.

You are both wrong.

The reason why Dyes drop more in pre than anywhere else is because all the mobs have smaller loot tables due to the fact that they cant drop purples/golds. This makes Dyes drop very often in presearing.

You have to be lvl 20(max) to do the most interesting things in the game. You don't do much with < lvl 20 characters.. Your first goal is to get your character to lvl 20 and meanwhile the max armor. So conclusion: lvl 8 is almost nothing.. but in Pre-Searing ("tutorial place") that is kinda high compared to the avarage you see there.

You can quickly kill them, rinse and repeat. Fast kill = fast drop = possibility to get a dye.

Bandit raid farming gives a dye drop rate of 1:4.

This means that if you do it 4 times, you wil get 1 dye.

For all those doing this: You can be as low as lvl 3 to do this. Check out the Info from the right side of the video to find out where to find the quests and so on.

I haven't counted how often something drops.. So I don't know the real drop rates compared to some other farm spots.

there is a guild wars rule or value watever u want to call it this is it

# For every 150 hostile creature's item drop you might get one coloured dye (red, blue, green etc)

# For every 10 regular colours you might get one silver (less than 1 in 1,500 chance)

i farm dye like crazy in pre. i have asked ppl where to farm dye and no every one always says u cant. well your all wrong. u can its in pre. go south of foibles and agro the ice elementals in the cave. i get 1 black almost every run. and to the guy who said he thinks this was sped up. it wasnt. i promis u that. i run the same thing. he didnt speed it up

i know the best form of farming.

1. charr hunting (you get quick purples and a charr bag every 5 or so runs)

2. ale farming (a guarenteed 4 ales which is worth 400g, and its also good for the drunkard title)

dye farming (this is the best type of pre farming for new-ish people, lvl 5-7)

Not bad. I would agree that you could bump firestorms damage up.

However, this farm is much harder to complete now they nerfed AoE damage.
