so what happens if i just take out the little bit of plastic on the cog?

@gewizz2 You should only have to take the plastic stop out if you want a 360 degree sweep. Although for 360 degree, you will probably need to remove the centering pot from the servo as well or when you let off the stick, the servo will move back a few degrees.
