@Masterdate A slanted gainer is not like a standing gainer, and I said slanted because the take of is similar. But it's more like a one footed backflip. Because a slant gainer have to be land on one foot ( not the take off one, the other.)

@5up3rT0m: Because in Figure skating the rules are if you jump in the air you must land on only one foot (because two feet is easy). With back flips you land on two feet. So it is not considered an "ice jump". Surya Bonaly has since been the only skater to have ever landed on one foot. But the Olympics still considered the stunt illegal because the stunt had already been banned in general stunt.

I used to watch this guy in 95'. He is over

6 ft. Horizonally does this backflip. They made a rule you could only do this flip in professional skating. He was also the first man to do a quad jump. He quit skating because he felt he was not getting the recognition he deserved. I can remember all this but cannot remember his name. Anyone know let me know please. Making me batty.

Josef Sabovcik as seen above, He is by no means six feet tall ( i giggled when I read that lol ) He is actually quite a small man. He coaches here in utah, I take lessons from him. He's got a lot of little olympic hopefulls taking jumping lessons from him =)
