I'm not an opera expert-but I think it is best for me to hear the audio and not watch this performance. Liu's facial expressions make me laugh too much!

Critina Gallardo Domas sí es chilena y una gran soprano "verdiana" p'or que ha sido una de las pocas que ha podido interpretar magnificamente los roles más difíciles de Verdi. Respecto a esta puesta en escena de "Turandot" la encontre muy fea, en todo, especialmnete en vestuario y escenografía, feo y pobre, parece increible que es de "La Scalla ". La soprano bella voz pero, una princesa china jamás tendría ese volumen,¿no habia otra?, Martinucci muy viejo y feo para ser el Principe.
@jesusjuanpablo are you talking about gallardo domas? she completely lacks line in the voice, her voice disappears below a certain note! when she does the high notes she seems like that crazy drumming puppet on the muppet show! horrible horrible horrible. i can't believe that its at la scala!
Very good Liu, but what about the Turandot? I know voice matters but my goodness, it's hard to see her as a 'divine beauty' when she looks like THAT...I know it sounds mean, but there has to be some air of believability.
I thought Gallardo-Domas was an excellent Liu. I first saw her in an interview from "The Turandot Project," when she sang the role for Zhang Yimou and Zubin Mehta in Florence, not Beijing. Her brief clips in from the Death Scene were very heartfelt; her pianissimos were so soft. I don't think anyone has heard those techniques since Caballe'.
She's a great Liu for sure - but what about Ms Marc- those curtains on her head! Since when was the Princess of China Spanish as well? -another crappy Turandot headress.

I saw her at the Met opening. A good actress she may be but that wobble is terrible live. She was not very good in Butterfly and wa tired by the end of it.
I don't know, Gallardo-Domas has a very trembling voice in the deep, but even like this, I liked this video...Her performance is doing great!! Cute soprano, I would rather to see her as Cio-cio-san...
Gorgeous. And I believe she has the biggest mouth on earth. :D

She is a wonderful Liu. Turandot is good, but what about her dress? She reminds me of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.

I saw her as CioCioSan at Liceu (BCN) last season, and she was good. Good acting.
