  • this is the coolest thing i've ever seen

  • I love that Chris and Sean's performing styles haven't changed: Chris moves around and gets into the music, while Sean stands stock-still the whole time. A lot like how they perform now.

  • that's so awesome!!

  • It's funny to see how much taller Sean is than Chris in this video, knowing how they turned out!

  • oh my gosh!! freakin adorable!

  • fanfrickintastic!!

  • I only wish i could play guitar as good as Chris here ;) lol and I'm 25

  • This is amazing!

    1. I love the song. I love the performance. I love Nickel Creek.

    2. The little blond boy that walks past the camera twice is me. I was 7 at the time. Now I'm 24. And thats my sister with me. What a trip.

    3. I had three relatives play in a lot of these festivals.

  • geez, they were ripping at this age, not surprised, they are geniuses, but who knew they'd been playing w/ eachother since birth?

  • omg this is in tememcula?

no way thats were i grew up

    i miss it so bad

  • wow! they are amazing

  • I worked for his dad at Murray State Univeristy.....Scott Thile. He is the equipment manager there. He tunes pianos, etc. He is a super nice guy.

  • So cute!!!

  • Very nice performance! 5* You all are so talented!

    Gretsch'n

  • dude sean is playing guitar he bows when scott announces them

  • Does anyone know how old these kids are in this video? Thanks.

  • Chris and Sara would've been about 11, and Sean was about 15.

  • @giggleblaggle the future bluegrass emmy winning Nickel Creek

  • whoa, so sean's an awesome mandolin player...wow!

  • I think you have Chris and Sean mixed up...Chris plays mandolin, Sean plays guitar...

  • No, this is actually right! At the very end of this song, Scott Thile (on bass) says "Sara and Sean Watkins" and then points to his left & right. Chris (on guitar) also extends his arms out in recognition of them. Then, Sean say's "Thank you very much!"

    It's crazy I know! :-)

  • Wow...that's like some paralell universe or something, is it not?

  • Well, on their solo stuff they both play a lot of different instruments (for example, Chris's "Deceiver" says "All songs written and performed by Chris Thile"). So...

  • Yeah. Chris started out on guitar, but switched to mando later.

  • @wwfrench You're right. Just look at their faces. Chris is playing guitar and Sean has the mandolin.

  • you are silly and if you had bought Little Cowpoke you would have known you are wrong and that sean was taller at that time

  • @MandolinTory not in this video. chris is in the middle, sean on the mandolin. they are just that good.

  • Now I will go cry.

  • Precocious little buggers.

  • these kids are better at these instruments than most adults

  • I love Nickel Creek. :)

  • Holy MESS! =]

    I love it.

    This made me grin.

  • dear lord this is so funny
