@aaprato: I'd say her voice is an "acquired taste." Those who have gotten familiar with it, inasmuch as it sounds like a chipmunk's, and have gotten to like her personality don't mind it. I personally like her, too.

Idina Menzel's voice sounds like Alvin's from ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS. Could she make it less annoyingly screechy, please? Also, she should lower the key if can't reach the high notes (see problematic ending of the song) and NOT CHEAT!!!

Oh. My. Goodness. She actually belted that high G. O_o Idina Menzel is, without a doubt, the most amazing singer I have ever heard. But Andrew Lloyd Webber has no concept whatsoever of the female vocal range. This song spans my whole range.

@mikib4 shes not a mezzo shes a soprano look at her singing sleepy man plus im a singer n an alto is just a soprano that sings down the octive.

@puggiepie97 i'm pretty sure she is a mezzo - i'm not an expert on voices but i think that the "soprano" you're hearing is probably from her use of belting techniques, which has more to do with volume than actual range.
