If your system is a bit older or uses a simplified BIOS, you may not have a Boot Menu option. In this case you will need to make the system detect and boot your USB device by changing the settings in the BIOS.
Older BIOS Boot Options: USB-HDD " Preferred boot method" USB-ZIP "May or may not work" USB-FDD "Unsupported"
Hi, I have the MSI 890GXM-G65 motherboard but when I updated to the latest bios version the motherboard doesn't do anything. can you help me? I updated the bios via Windows option. thanks.
This does not work for me, all I get is not a bootable device. Please press anykey to continue. when i do it just loads up windows. what em i doing wrong?
I don't understand this video. I have a MSI GD 70 and everytime I update my bios I just use live update 4. It downloads the new bios to my computer and then uses a window program to automatically install it to my computer. No floppy or usb is needed and it's so damn easy and fool proof I don't know why anyone would do it the harder way like this. Doesen't live update utility come with all new MSI boards?
@traingp7 - well Windows based BIOS flashing apps could crash, or have other issues within windows, this could interrupt the BIOS flashing process, possibly causing the BIOS to be corrupt or damaged in one form or another, if un-fixable or costing money to get the board fixed it could've rendered the motherboard unusable.
Any AFUDOS, EZFlash or any modern non-Windows methods are far better, as nothing but a loss of electricity or a lightning storm can affect the update (as far as I know of).
MSI NF980-G65 Warning: My poor experience and bad news for Nvidia.
6-Core bios released date as 4/30/2010 never publicly available until near June and while they still stated it was compatible you had to contact MSI to get and got a beta bios. Still shipped with bios v1.2 last I knew . You get what you pay I sold it for little or nothing on ebay cause of poor tech. service that can't speak inglish. I now injoy gaming once MSI was over.
What kind of USB drive did you use MSI girl cause im gonna update my bios and don't want to screw my alienware pc... not really alienware just the name i call it xD
!!WARNING!! If there is nothing wrong with you pc/laptop ,like no error no driver problems no any kind of problems at all. Then don't update your BIOS at all. !!WARNING!! go to you pc/laptops brand name website e.g. ( toshiba, asus, sony) and fine your laptop model. then got to driver-software updates area. find the newest BIOS update (if there is one) usually it will tell you what its going to update. like maybe it will update some new sound cards just released, or maybe some bugs fixed.
lol wat a stupid dud u are she sayed u have to use bootable usb at the first-.- i think that u are the stupid here!!!! so shut up and don't comment before u andertand

@traingp7 The live update is dumb and doesn't auto detect all boards (even if they are MSI). For example a K8Mgm2-h would not be found.
